Project Armalyte is now called Alleykat. My long time feline companion, Maddie, passed away two weeks ago. She would sit and chill with me for hours while i coded and toiled away on this and other projects. She'd see me off when i went to work and be waiting for me when i got home. She'd ride around on my shoulder, sleep on my bed and follow me everywhere. From the scared and timid cat who had a massive alopecia bald patch on her back and who i think had had a bit of a bad life as the frightened girl who crept into my shed all those years ago, she became a gentle, funny and loving companion. She was 18, she was my friend for many years, and i miss her ๐
The module is now a tribute to kitty cat. And she'll be appearing on the back of it.

Nice cover of the meow song for her. When the module is complete i'll come back and tweak it for a proper demo, where it will be paired up with the song 'tell me when', which also has a meow in towards the end ๐
Sounds somewhat like a Hubbard outing for the verses, but then you hit the chorus and it goes full sublime Galway - Ocean loader. It sounds wonderful. in a kept in the loft for 30 years way ๐
Tuning is still as crap as my Korg Monopoly on a good day. But a bit of pitch bend wheel keeps it sweet enough. The day i move it off the breadboard and get a precision reference in there for 1voct tracking can't come soon enough.
Currently waiting for some parts to make the next big leap. This is where the last few registers will become active and all the ringmod/sync/wave mixing kinds of things will come to life.
Than chorus though..

"The final evolution of various experiments using the Zen delay and Echolocator delay. This time it's just self-generated Echolocator feedback run through the Zen delay.
Movie sequences are from the 1932 movie 'The Red Haired Woman' starring Jean Harlow. This was one of the steamy, amoral, boundary-pushing Hollywood productions that led to the puritanical Hays Code. It was also notable for its famous slap scene.
The movie audio was process in the DAW using automation on delay plugin parameters - and what a colossal no-fun pain that was compared with twiddling knobs in real time. I made it to three lanes of automation then gave up. The Zen-Echo combo is not processed from what you see.

See the inset photo for his rig (with a Mellotron and Rhodes for company). It was bought in VEMIA years ago for 770GBP in a completely unplayable state. needing major work. Since then, the current owner has had a lot of work done, and says it is just missing one part to be 100% - more details if we can find out. We're including one internal photo from its previous sale, before the restoration was done. Packing at VEMIA: 18GBP."

1. This E-mu Emax is in good condition.
2. This includes the E-mu Emax itself.
2. This includes an OLED display.
5. This includes a Gotek drive from Monotanz.
6. This includes an IEC power cable.
6. The original power supply has been replaced with a new supply.
7. This does not include the original factory box and paperwork or any floppy disks.
Please take a look at the pictures. As you can see, this Emax is in good condition.
Good condition Emax! Various skiffs and scuffs here and there from 35+ years of faithful service. This Emax functions great: all the keys work, the sliders and mod wheels work, the display has been replaced with an OLED display and is much more readable, the power supply has been replaced with a modern one (much cooler), a Gotek drive is installed and replaces the floppy disk drive, and all of the ins and out work.
I am including a USB key that about 350 disks loaded on it, including the factory samples, third party samples, and some famous samples from an 80s band.
That said, this is an old keybaord. There are skiffs and skuffs on the unit. The potentiometers and digital sliders appear to be in great shape, but there might be some dust and crackles to chase after and clean out sometimes. The audio ins and outs are working without issue, but keep in mind this is a noisy sampler (relatively speaking, compared to 2025 standards). This is old technology, but old technology that sounds AMAZING. But, not noise-free as you might expect from an Elektron device.
Overall, this Emax is in really good shape, and the front panel looks great. A lot of Emaxes I see online, the front panel sticker is de-laminating and peeling off. This one is in super great shape. Take a look!

Instruล actually began as a video project. Specifically a time-lapse of me designing the original troika module. Ten years later, I’ve returned to that idea with ceithir, a winter holiday project I designed with video documentation in mind.
This video explores the initial design stages: sketching, layout, and concept development. There are vlog sections and time-lapse sequences with new voiceover commentary.

An analog instrument for improvisation and sonic exploration.
It consists of three parts: two oscillators with wave shapers, two random shift registers/sequencers, and a stereo delay.
The instrument is designed so that it can be played without patching. The banana jacks serve to expand the instrument's capabilities and enable communication with other instruments.
There is an insert point between the oscillators and the delay for connecting a volume pedal, external effects, or both.
