muSonics Lyle: Deep Note
video upload by suitandtieguy
"Deep Note on Lyle, the first properly polyphonic modular synthesizer since the Oberheim Four Voice.
If you have a Moog One, the preset is TK-421 and yes I programmed it. (the very competent marketing department wouldn't let us tag authorship in the patch description.) Page McConnell, you're welcome!
This was a bit more rough-and-tumble than that preset, but might be cooler. It uses polyphonic glide AND envelopes, and I had to do this over and over again to set the voices up to start on the right notes and get the timbre where I wanted it. Amos had to update the firmware for the MIDI-CV modules so the glide time was long enough!
The envelopes are used on 3 of the voices to spread them an octave, a fifth, and a third. the upper voices start on G below middle C and the lower voices start on G above middle C.
I referred back to the score that was published back in 2018 and approximated the notes, but there just isn't enough oscillators to do the whole thing.
There are enough to make it sound good though.
I still used the new Sony camera but recorded it via SDI with one of my Ki Pro recorders because the audio inputs sound MUCH better and it records in Apple ProRes format which Digital Performer can handle without conversion. This is a really cool setup and is so easy to crank this stuff out with. Expect more."

"@Fix_your_hearts_or_die
this is for you, the one who dreams in colors the rest of us are still learning to see. The one who pours himself out like water, nourishing everyone around him. Remember that the love beside you mirrors the beauty you seek in distant horizons, and the home you've built together is itself a manifestation as profound as any butterfly that crosses your path.May this music be a reminder that you are not just a witness to magic—you are its author. The butterflies know this. And sometimes, the most beautiful thing you can create is space for yourself to simply be.
With love, in gratitude for the dreams you chase and the beauty you create."

Behringer Murf Box on synth (no talk)
video upload by Richard DeHove
"Behringer's BM-15M Murf Box - now renamed as the BM-15M Resonant Filter - is a clone of the Moog Moogerfooger MF-105 MuRF. I bought this pedal thinking it might be a more interesting replacement for my Boss SL-2 Slicer. Why did I want to replace the Slicer? Because the Slicer has a few things that slightly irritate me. In hindsight, a pitiful motivation since the Murf Box has an equal number of small irritating things.
First, if you bypass the effect you only get sound out of one channel. That's irritating. It's huge, the knobs are hard to read, I don't love the EQ, the way the envelope works is odd, there's no compression on the drive, and you can't adjust the LFO without an expression pedal. Not that I entirely blame Behringer, I also blame Moog since these are all present on the OG Murf. But of course all the actual blame rests with me for not being satisfied with the Boss Slicer.
Not that the Murf sounds bad. It's a rather interesting, gritty, unusual and reasonably versatile machine. I think rather my expectations were pumped up to the same artificial heights as the OG Moogerfooger reputation and prices.
Here the Murf is receiving a MIDI clock and the expression pedal is connected to the LFO rate. The volume varies a lot depending on the EQ, mix and drive settings - and seems to fade away a bit toward the end of the video - but I thought it best to keep these as-is to show real usage.
Originally I was going to do a comparison between the Murf Box and the Boss Slicer with lots of talk. But knowing that hearing me talk too much annoys some people, and that merely showing a Behringer product will guarantee a percentage of automatic dislikes, I thought it wiser to start with a plain audio demo. I'll do a comparison with the Slicer very soon (unless everyone hates this video) since I think there's a lot of overlap and interesting design contrasts between the pedals.

DSI Poly Evolver soundscape with emotive pads
video upload by MIDERA
"Just pulled this out to see what it can do for me. Sometimes I forget how interesting it can sound, and, maybe more to the point, how good a 4 voice synth can sound.
I’ve just been going back and forth between trading this for a Moog Muse. In the one hand, I haven’t played my Poly Evolver much, on the other hand, if I sell it, the prices are getting crazy and I’d probably never get one again.
Sigh… no idea.

EXPERIMENT 82725: Moog Muse Ambient Synth Drone
video upload by Bill Wolfer
"An ambient degenerative drone patch. No arpeggiator or sequencers were used. Oscillator two is synced to Oscillator one. LFO 1 and LFO 2 are modulating the frequency of Oscillator two with non-synchronized sample & hold waveforms. The filters are in series in bandpass mode, and are being modulated slowly with a sine wave from the modulation oscillator. Plenty of diffusion delay is added, along with Moogerfooger Clusterflux chorus and plenty of reverb. It's all one track, recorded as is. Machine melodies.

The Rare Tuttivox by Harald Bode
video upload by HAINBACH
"I have been very interested in the work of German inventor and engineer Harald Bode. His essays and instruments were hugely influential on Robert Moog, Don Buchla and many others, and laid the ground work to the synthesizers of today. Sadly, most of his more experimental designs don't survive. But some of his more conventional instruments do, like his adaption of the proto-synth Clavioline he made for Jörgensen, the Tuttivox (with involvement/Patents to Rene Seybold). When one crossed my way, I could not resist. But when it arrived, I was in for a bad surprise."

"Vintage Moog MultiMoog, one of the most expressive monophonic synthesizers from Moog’s classic late-70s era. Produced between 1978 and 1981, the MultiMoog expanded on the Micromoog with features like aftertouch, ribbon control, dual oscillators, sample-and-hold, and a powerful 24 dB/oct Moog ladder filter.
Condition:
Everything is fully functional – all keys, controls, and modulation options work as they should. It has not been recently serviced, so while it plays beautifully right now, at some point in the future it will likely benefit from a standard recap/service to keep it running at its best. Cosmetically very good for its age, with only normal wear. This MultiMoog is a rare find, offering the classic Moog sound with more modulation and performance options than most other Moog monosynths of its time. Perfect for both collectors and players looking for a unique vintage Moog with character and depth."

A "Little Synth" Designed by Legends
Crumar S.P.A., based in Castelfidardo, Italy, was a notable player in the 1970s musical instrument industry, specializing in home organs, digital pianos, and multi-sound keyboards, and with a significant focus on the U.S. market. Sante Crucianelli, the son of the owner, became the driving force behind Crumar's design and strategies. Crumar became known for its open lab culture, frequently allowing competitors to test instruments, a rare practice for the time. Another key figure during this period was Luciano Jura, a designer, musician, and programmer. Luciano became crucial as Crumar's point of contact with synth pioneer Bob Moog, which led to a collaboration that resulted in the creation of Crumar's Spirit synthesizer.
Although many details have been lost due to the passing of key figures and the closure of Crumar, the development of the Spirit synthesizer in the U.S. is well documented. Key contributors to the project, codenamed "Little Synth," included Moog engineer Jim Scott, Moog clinician and electronic music historian Tom Rhea, and Bob Moog himself. The project likely began around 1980 or 1981, and incorporated elements from earlier projects by Scott and Moog. Rhea played an essential role in defining the Spirit's key features, such as the keyboard scanning setup, panel layout, functional architecture, and technical documentation. The Crumar Spirit went into production and was released in late 1983.

"Made in the late 70's, this company Mediamix made these awesome joystick controllers that could be interfaced with Moogs, ARPs and Oberheim synthesizers. This one had been used with an Oberheim TVS-1 Two Voice Synthesizer. The controller is in excellent physical condition, but is untested and sold as-is. Obviously from the circular connector, it would take some modifications to the synthesizer to interface this, it's not plug and play."

EMS Synthi A stolen from Synthorama
Some unfortunate news sent my way vis Swissdoc. Apparently someone has stolen an EMS Synthi from the Swiss synth museum Synthorama. You might recall the video walkthrough just posted here yesterday.
The following is via the curator of Synthorama, Martin Hollinger aka Airböurne (creator of the modular synth by the same name), on the Sequencer.de forum (translated via Google):
"Hello everyone
I finally managed to register on the forum. I'm the owner of the Synthorama and, due to a current event, I'd like to give you a brief update on the museum.
The Synthorama has been around for 25 years and serves to introduce synthesizers to a musically interested public. Almost all instruments can be played and tested here.
But you all already know that ;-)
Unfortunately, there are also people who misuse the museum. Since its inception, there have been four thefts, the fourth on August 2, 2025.
The first was about 15 years ago, when someone stole around 10 modules from one of my Moog modular systems while it was unattended and then filled the "holes" with other modules or even front panels. I didn't notice this for a long time because it wasn't that obvious.
Muse | Moog Influence on Matt Johnson of Jamiroquai's New Solo Album | Jazz Cafe London
video upload by Moog Music
"Join @MattJohnsonskeyspace, the eclectic, funk-driven keyboardist of Jamiroquai, at the Jazz Cafe in London as he dives into the Moog instruments that helped shape his upcoming solo album.
For Matt, the Muse is more than a synth, it’s an instrument that talks back. With deep modulation possibilities and an assignable macro knob for expressive, on-the-fly control, Muse lets him program in advance and still play with complete spontaneity.
Alongside Muse, Matt’s Moog collection includes Messenger, his original Minimoog, the Moog One, and the Voyager — each adding its own character to his signature sound.
We love being a part of this musical journey."

Paradise 😇 (Moog Minitaur // Waldorf Streichfett // Roland S1 // Volca Beats // Mininova // NDLR)
video upload by 2-Minute Warning
"An unexpected impromptu performance with the same setup as my previous video, hope you'll enjoy it! ❤️
The NDLR is sequencing with:
Drone track: the Moog Minitaur (BASS)
Pad track: the Waldorf Streichfett (PADS)
Motif-1 track: the Roland S1 (ARP)
Motif-2 track: the Roland S1 (ARP)
The DRUMS are coming from the Korg Volca Beats and the LEAD is being played in real-time on the Novation Mininova.
00:00 Intro
01:07 Improvised Solo
02:40 Bridge
03:14 Outro
A couple of tricks I used here:
I used the STUTTER EFFECT of the Volca Beats as a delay here on only one voice (not the master bus). First it's on the Open Hi-Hat and then swapped to the Closed Hi-Hat (creating a sixteenth note rhythm without changing pattern)
I'm using one of the NDLR's LFO (Square wave) to modulate the octave of the PADS.
I've used the hidden CHORUS of the S-1 synth to create the wide ARP 😉"

RITM-2 Synthesizer (1982) - 1 OSC Clone Moog Prodigy
video upload by LFOstore
"According to information that is actively circulating and being replicated on the Internet, the RITM-2 synthesizer was created in 1982 by Viktor Anatolyevich Nikulin, an engineer at the Kirov Musical Instruments Factory, at the request of a musician friend.
The device was well-received by the company's management, and in 1984, it was put into mass production, which continued for 10 years. During this time, the instrument's design underwent three further improvements. It was the only Soviet synthesizer where all components and controls were housed on a single printed circuit board.
Functionally, it consists of one tone generator, a noise generator, a sound signal mixer (triangle, saw, rectangle, noise), a low-pass filter, two full-format envelope generators (attack, decay, sustain, aftertouch), and a low-frequency modulation generator. It is a portable keyboard instrument weighing approximately 9 kg, housed in a plywood case with a lid.
The front panel had two versions: black and white. The main feature of the instrument, which determined its character, long life, and fame in the professional environment, was its unique and harsh sound.
The production capabilities of the enterprise were quite modest, and only about three thousand instruments were produced over the course of 10 years. RITM-2 was produced exclusively on orders from the administrations of houses and palaces of culture, as well as from leading communist enterprises that had their own musical groups.
During the Soviet period, it was impossible to purchase a rare instrument on the open market, and the RITM-2 was not widely known among musicians who were not affiliated with amateur groups. It was not until after 1993, when the Soviet government's support for amateur music, along with the cultural palaces and the Soviet government itself, ceased to exist, that the RITM-2 synthesizer began to find its way into the hands of professional musicians both in Russia and abroad.
The electronic musical synthesizer Rhythm-2 is a single-voice
keyboard instrument designed for solo, ensemble, orchestral performance of musical works of various genres, as well as for educational purposes and obtaining new sound effects. It can be used both in pop orchestras and at home in conjunction with an amplifier-acoustic device having an input sensitivity of no worse than 0.775. It is possible to use a low-frequency amplifier of a radio receiver, TV, tape recorder. The sound quality of the synthesizer will depend on the quality of the amplifier-acoustic device used.
On the Rhythm-2 synthesizer, it is possible to imitate the sound of classical musical instruments (keyboard, string, reed, percussion) with a certain degree of authenticity and create original sound effects (wind noise, the sound of a passing train, the sound of a sea wave, a shot and the whistle of a bullet).
The synthesizer can be used to play melodies with randomly changing pitch or timbre."
