Knif BBD / Modcan videos pt 2 via Drew Neumann

video upload by GSF AGENCY

"'So I set up this simple patch…'
🎧🎧

While the patch would take a while to describe in great detail, here are the main points. All of the audio in the clip is coming from the Modcan processed through the Knif BBD in realtime. The Moog Subsequent 37 is sending arpeggiated notes, modulation, and pitch wheel to the STG Continuo, which is converting that to control voltage (plus internal LFO) and gate for the modular. The pitch CV is then routed to a Wiard Mini Wave, which imposes various quantized key modes and scales on the pitch. The gate signal is routed to various envelopes, LFO resets, and the Milton Sequencer (upper right) to clock everything together and keep it in sync. Milton is handling several duties including pulse width offsets for the oscillators, CV offsets for the filters, Wiard Mini Wave 2s wavetable select, and trigger outputs for the rhythmic parts. The "voice" is 3 oscillators (one of which is processed through the second Wiard Mini Wave for wavetables) through the Moog 904a filter, 2 more oscillators going to 2 Arp 4075 filters panned hard left and right, 2 oscillators plus ring modulator and spring reverb acting at the "cymbal," white noise and Dark Star Chaos triggered by Milton for additional percussion effects. The Knif BBD is tap-tempo synced to the Moog Subsequent 37's arpeggio clock. From there, everything is messing around with the Knif BBD controls, selecting notes on the Moog, and noodling around on the Modcan's front panel controls.

Letters from the Numbers Station – live analog ambient session (Moog One)

video upload by Caught In Joy

"A late-night live session built from quiet Moog One “letters” and expanded into full transmissions from the Numbers Station.

Intimate signals becoming larger worlds.

This set blends new single-synth fragments with expanded pieces from the Numbers Station universe – recorded live, unhurried, and allowed to breathe.

No countdown. No urgency. Just signal.

The extended uninterrupted version lives on Bandcamp.
If you’d like to stay inside the signal a little longer, that’s where it continues:

RetroSound Studio Tour: Analog Monophonic Synthesizers

video upload by RetroSound

"Welcome to RetroSound Studio Tour: Analog Monophonic Synthesizers & Duophonic — a deep dive into legendary mono synths from the 1970s and 1980s, including rare East-Bloc classics.

In this new episode, I showcase iconic instruments such as the Minimoog, ARP Odyssey, Roland SH-101, Maxi-Korg, Sequential Circuits Pro-One, alongside Soviet and East German synthesizers like the Polivoks, Alisa 1377 and Vermona mono synths.

These analog monophonic synthesizers defined the sound of electronic music — from the fat Moog and cutting ARP to aggressive Polivoks and raw Eastern European character.

This video explores the sound and architecture of true analog mono synths built around VCO, VCF, and VCA signal paths, highlighting their distinctive basslines, lead sounds, and modulation capabilities. From the Moog basslines to the aggressive Polivoks filter sound and the unique character of East German Vermona synthesizers, each instrument demonstrates why 1970s and 1980s monophonic synthesizers remain highly sought after by collectors, producers, and electronic music enthusiasts."

The Monophonic Analog Synths:

Cory Henry Walks Up While Performing at NAMM 😳🔥

video upload by Doctor Mix

"Final day at NAMM — and the energy is still unreal 🔥🎹⚡🎶

I can't really believe what happened there, as I was checking out the Leviasynth at https://www.ashunsoundmachines.com booth, Corey Henry rolls up on me with his camera ... while I was playing 🤯😅 I then have one of the coolest NAMM hangouts with Cory and my friend Matthew Whitaker, who BTW won a Grammy like the day after 🤯🤯🤯😍😍😍 Congratulations ‪@MatthewWhitakerOfficial‬ what an achievement ❤️🎹 ‪@CoryHenry‬ has a few of those 🙌

From there, everything happened — running into the legend Jonathan 'Sugarfoot' Moffett (Michael Jackson’s lifetime live drummer), Visiting Roland, Yamaha, Moog, testing odd synths, and discovering one of the most hilarious instruments of the show: the fully real, California-built Banana Synthesizer.
Finally I get to watch Justin Lee Shultz live, jamming with Matthew, and getting a selfie with both of them!"

Red Synton Syrinx Audio Demo

video upload by Edwin Kiddo

"Audio demo of my Synton Syrinx. This one has been serviced and the power input changed from 220 to 110V.

The Syrinx uses seven Curtis chips for its VCO's, VCF's and envelopes. It has two analog VCO's, a sub-oscillator and three flexible voltage-controlled filters. You can switch between the three filters for either a 24 dB lowpass, or two bandpass filters, and they can be patched in four different ways (series/parallel). Additionally the Syrinx has two LFO's, FM, PWM, osc-sync, 2 ADSR envelopes, ring modulation, portamento and a cool touch-pad that can control various parameters from pitch-bending to the LFO rate. The Syrinx's Mixer section lets you adjust levels for each VCO and the sub-osc as well as the Noise Generator and Ring Modulator. Unfortunately, being released around 1983, the Syrinx just missed out on MIDI and patch memory options.

Polyphony - Monophonic
Oscillators - 2 VCO's (tri, saw, square, PWM) plus 1 sub-oscillator, ring modulation and noise gen.
LFO - 2
Filter - 2 Bandpass filters (Peak 1 & 2) and 1 Lowpass 24dB/oct filter. Individual cutoff and resonance controls, ADSR Envelope, Keyboard Tracking and LFO modulation
VCA - 2 ADSR filters (one can modulate the VCF)
Keyboard - 44-keys (3 1/2-octave, no velocity, low-note priority)
Arpeggiator - None
Sequencer - None
Memory - None
Control - CV / Gate (Moog type). Touch 'N Bend Pad.
Date Produced - 1983/84"

Waldorf Protein - It's NOT what you think it is...

Waldorf Protein No Talking Review - That what you want right??? lol
Well this isn't it, these are my feelings having used the Protein in a few different settings and now having one at home. I was asked to support some local tours and needed a synth that was super portable, I actually don't have a poly portable, so fortunately this fit the bill perfectly. I actually needed it more than I wanted it to be honest. I think I've seen many 'don't buy gear videos' more and more. Here's the thing. I like those videos actually, but mainly cause I love people in the comments section being triggered lol. I think that most important thing is your 'why'. You love Moog 'why' you love Behringer 'why'. None are bad none are good, it's purely your why. Waldorf Quantum, Waldorf XT this is NOT. It's not what you think it is. It's not Waldorfs cheap way to sell you something. This feels like love was put behind it's creation."

He Hates This Synth Because…

video upload by Anthony Marinelli Music

"In this video, I pick one thing I think I hate about 12 classic synthesizers—and then follow that feeling wherever it leads.
We’re talking about legendary instruments:
Minimoog, MS-20, Prophet-5, Jupiter-8, ARP 2600, Moog IIIc ('Plantasia'), Oberheim 4-Voice, Oberheim OB-X, Synclavier III, Elka Synthex, and Yamaha CS-30.
What starts as frustration with a workflow choice, a knob, or a design limitation slowly turns into something else entirely.
Along the way, I realize this video isn’t really about hating synths at all. It’s about relationships.
Every one of these instruments has limitations—and so do we. In any good relationship, not everything is perfect. But when you stop fighting what something isn’t and start understanding what it is, those limitations can become the very thing that leads you somewhere creative and unexpected.
Instead of endless options, boundaries create focus.
Instead of frustration, they create identity.
And in learning to understand these instruments more deeply, I ended up learning something about myself.
This is a video about synthesizers—but it’s also a small morality tale about creativity, acceptance, and finding freedom inside constraints.
Let me know in the comments:
Which synth do you love… even though it drives you crazy? 🎛️"

DUST - Cinematic Ambient Improvisation #27 // Moog Matriarch, Sequential Take 5

video upload by David Falcon

"Yesterday I got home and had half an hour free, so I turned on the camera and just improvised whatever came to mind in the spot. I set up a quick patch on the Matriarch based on the one from last video and held an Am arpeggio.
Then I improvised some chords on top with the Sequential Take 5. Hope what came out was enjoyable to listen and not too chaotic."

まるでMemorymoogの質感!? GS MUSIC e7 Poly Analog Synth from Argentina [no talking]

video upload by いーえるP@TinySymphony

"Reverb : UAD Lexicon 224

GS MUSIC

去年、5Gには黒バージョンしか無かったので、地球の裏側アルゼンチンから個人輸入しました。なんと国際送料無料だったんです!"

Googlish:

"Reverb: UAD Lexicon 224

I think this GS MUSIC e7 is an analog polyphonic synthesizer that's closer to the Memorymoog than the MOOG ONE or the Sequential TRIGON-6.
It's often said in overseas forums that the 'e7' has the most competitive sound and texture compared to the Memorymoog, but what do you all think?

GS MUSIC https://www.gsmusic.com/synth-store

Last year, only the black version of the 5G was available, so I imported it personally from Argentina on the other side of the world. And surprisingly, international shipping was free!"

Ambient Electronica of Fading Synths and Sapporo soundscape | Fading Memories 2026-01-22 by atnr

video upload by atnr

"This piece was created using the ‪@SequentialLLC‬ Prophet-10, ‪@MoogSynthesizers‬ Moog One, ‪@YamahaSynthsOfficial‬ CP88, ‪@NordKeyboards‬ Nord Lead, and tape loops. Set against field recordings captured in snowy streets of Sapporo, electric piano and synthesizer sounds emerge and fade away, forming an ambient electronica composition.

The Prophet-10 is used to play synth pads, processed with reverb and delay via ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ LOST+FOUND.

Two tape loops are used. One contains a one-minute recording of an electric piano performance, while the other plays field recordings from the streets of Sapporo. The electric piano tape is played back on a ‪@WeAreRewind1‬ cassette player and processed with delay using ‪@strymon‬ TIMELINE. The field recording tape is played on a Rock & Play cassette player, with the pitch lowered and further processed through ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ MOOD MKII, where reverb and layered micro-loops deepen the pitch and texture.

The Moog One and Nord Lead are occasionally played to add synth pads. The Nord Lead is processed with reverb via ‪@gfisys‬ Specular Tempus.

The CP88 plays a Rhodes sound, layering simple phrases with its built-in reverb and delay."

Serendipity L-Thing vs D-Thing+: Upgrades for Moog DFAM & Labyrinth

video upload by Noisegate and Sam Stosuur

"We patch both modules together, sync them via Mother-32, and explore how they interact with DFAM, Labyrinth, and Teenage Engineering Rhythm for a wild semi-modular jam.

The D-Thing+ transforms the Moog DFAM, adding reset, swing, step control, micro-timing, shuffle, reverse, random modes, and MIDI/CV clocking — turning a brilliant but limited sequencer into a powerful performance instrument.

The L-Thing is built to pair with Moog’s Labyrinth, providing dual clocks, polymeter and polyrhythm modes, Euclidean rhythm options, and generative sequencing that pushes Labyrinth far beyond its stock behavior — while still working with any CV-capable synth.

TIMESTAMPS

0:00 — Intro: Serendipity + what we’re testing
0:23 — Why DFAM needs this (no reset, studio workflow)
2:23 — D-Thing+ reset explained (DFAM’s biggest quirk)
2:52 — Step length control (1–8 steps)
3:43 — Multi menu: step loops beyond 8 steps
4:58 — Micro menu: per-step microtiming / swing feel
5:02 — Sequencer modes overview (normal, reverse, bounce, odd/even, shuffle)
6:34 — Random mode + MIDI/CV modes
8:35 — L-Thing intro + what it unlocks on Labyrinth
10:03 — Patching L-Thing to Labyrinth (clock + bit flip)
11:06 — Sync setup: D-Thing+ clocking L-Thing + reset in sync
11:34 — LFOs + using it with other Moog (Grandmother/Matriarch)
12:44 — Polymeter setup: beats/bar + length tricks
13:42 — Polyrhythm mode (firmware note + chaos)
14:59 — Fast performance tweaks / weirdness
17:56 — Wrap-up: who these are for + closing

👉 Check out Serendipity Synths for more: https://thewessens.net/Serendipity/ma..."

The D-Thing is a device that adds significant capabilities to the DFAM (or Edge) sequencer, such as:

MIDI integration — clocking and individual step play,
Reset — manual, via CV or via MIDI,
Variations in the step order — Forward, Reverse, Bounce, Odds & Evens, Shuffle, Random and Custom,
Changing the sequence length — 1 to 8 steps (up to 16 steps for a custom step order),
Step repeat — assign a play count of up to 8 times to any step,
Off-grid timing — swing beat as well as arbitrary shifts away from the beat.

Exploring OXI ONE: Lazy Ambient Jam w. Moog Messenger, Vermona Perfourmer, Prophet 12 & Eventide

video upload by copenhagennoiselab

"'Sunday Excursion' is a relaxed ambient jam built entirely around two sequences from the OXI ONE.
No composition. No arrangement. Just hands-on exploration and letting the hardware talk.

🔁 SEQUENCING

The OXI ONE runs two independent sequences:

Sequence 1 – Rhythm / Pulse
– Matriceal mode for controlled randomness
– Drives a Moog Messenger mono synth
– Acts as the rhythmic backbone of the piece

Signal chain:
Moog Messenger → Klark Teknik KT76 → Korg DL8000R → TC Electronic Fireworx

Sequence 2 – Melody / Texture
– Linear mono mode with probability-based notes
– Drives a Vermona Perfourmer in round-robin poly mode
– Each voice slightly different for subtle movement and width

FX:
Vermona Perfourmer → Eventide Eclipse

🎹 LIVE PLAYING

On top of the sequences, chords and textures are played live on a Dave Smith Instruments Prophet 12.
The patch is a slow, restrained pad with a simple overtone structure.

FX:
Prophet 12 → Eventide H9 (Blackhole)

This is not a 'track.'
It’s a documented session exploring how the OXI ONE interacts with a few quirky synths and late-90s / early-2000s rack FX.

If you’re into hardware sequencing, probability, and letting small variations do the work, you’ll probably find something useful here."
