Loading Any Firmware (or Custom Panels) on Plinky 12
video upload by Nathan Plante Synths
"Did you know that you can load any of the panels onto your Plinky 12, no matter which one you actually bought? This week I'm exploring the panel picker menu which you can access on startup. I'll also take a quick look at some examples of custom panels that anyone (with coding knowledge) can create."

Moog Memorymoog SN 2268
Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this Reverb listing

"The Memorymoog is a classic for its epically fat sound! Though it's not a Plus, we actually prefer non-plus Memorymoogs around here as they are significantly more reliable. This particular unit is in beautiful cosmetic condition as well.
This Memorymoog was previously serviced by Memorymoog specialist Jareth Lackey at Synthpro, and all of the work has been checked by us to make sure it is up to our standards as well. As a finishing touch, we installed our own Memory Liberator upgrade which allows perpetual storage of patch memory without a battery.
This Memorymoog also comes with a Moog 1122 Dual Footswith Pedal, and original owner's manual.
S/N 2268
We believe in transparency when selling “pro serviced” synths so always include documentation of what services every synth we sell has received. Our approach to servicing vintage instruments entails both making sure every synth is working 100% now, and eliminating common failure points to preempt future issues.
This unit received the following services while it was here with us:
Primarily serviced by Jareth Lackey at Synthpro Restorations, we don't have the original invoice but here is what we can tell was done:
Power supply updated
all electrolytic capacitors replaced
Unreliable chips (analog switching ICs, op amps, resistor arrays) replaced
Controls cleaned
Tuning trimmers replaced
Fully tuned and calibrated
Here at Bell Tone:
Memory Liberator F-RAM memory upgrade installed, battery no longer needed and removed!"

STRYDE AUDIO SWAYED (Yamaha SY77 and TG77 Emulator) - 64 Contemporary Presets - The AFM Sessions
video upload by RM Studios
"It’s always great to hear that a software company has released an emulator of one of our most beloved vintage synthesizers, the Yamaha SY77 (and, of course, the TG77).
It means that the legacy of these incredible instruments will live on, allowing more people to discover and enjoy the unique sound and character of these machines. And, even better, it means our sound banks are becoming increasingly compatible with contemporary studio setups, keeping these classic sounds alive and accessible to a new generation of musicians.
This soundset is made up of 64 custom voices, spanning from classic keyboards sounds, synths (both vintage and contemporary), useful combinations and even a small number of templates aimed at speeding up your own programming work.
It's available in two separate versions, one for the SY99 and one for the SY&TG77, with different Effects and AWM/RCM programming. Swayed reads the SY&TG77 format.
There's a handful of patches sounding a little different, so those are demoed separately in the video.
The soundset can be purchased through the following link:

Testing the “final” arrangement of this little Eurorack Modular ;-)
video upload by John L Rice
"Vermona meloDICER being clocked and 'diced' (randomized) by an Erica Synths TRIGG while I play with the melody range. The voice is a Happy Nerding HM VCO pulse wave out into an Erica Synths MODulator module (EG and VCA). The VCO’s pulse width is being modulated by a 2hp Seq sequencer module that is also stepped by the TRIGG module. All in a 4ms Company Pod48x case and reverb from the external Yamaha MG 10 XU mixer.

Tempera Quirks and Foibles by Benge
video upload by Memetune Studio
"I’ve been exploring granular synthesis since around 1997, when Native Instruments brought out Reaktor, because it was the first system I knew of that had a granular synthesis engine built into it
But even before that I was experimenting with certain samplers that could do a sort of proto-granular thing where you could control the loop start and end end points of a sample independently, and use sliders to scroll through the sample by hand (for example on the Fairlight CMI 2X and also the Akai S612)
But nowadays we have it so easy, as there are a whole slew of desktop granular devices coming out, often based on ARM chips, such as the Tasty Chips GR units, the recent Waldorf synths, the Torso S4, Endorphines Evil Pet, not to mention the Mutable Instruments Clouds and its many derivatives
And then there's this little monster, The Beetlecrab Tempera - a strange and tiny box which takes granular synthesis and does something completely unique with it
It’s got 8 stereo granular samplers at its heart, but the way you interact with them is using the 8x8 touch-points. They are called emitters, and you play them either over midi or using some of the touch-points. You can change and trigger emitters in x - y directions, and it's all extremely complex, and things can get really wild very quickly, so as this is my first patch on it, I decided to keep it simple by using just 2 of the 8 grain samplers
I captured the samples myself using the built in mic (sample 1 is just tapping the box with my fingers, and sample 2 is me humming
It also has comprehensive mixing and FX processors, so here is a little ambient sketch done in real time, using just the Tempera
I’m going to have fun exploring this thing - especially when I integrate it into some of my modular systems, once I have got my head round its many quirks and foibles"

3 ways to get more out of envelope modulation
video upload by Monotrail Tech Talk
"A lot of synths have a two-envelope setup, often modulating the filter and VCA. But with a modular you can add a lot of interesting movement to a sound with creative patching. In this video I go over three different techniques that use a second envelope. To shape the transient. To add movement to the body of a sound. And to experiment with note-off modulation.

HWJ WC - No FX
video upload by SynthAddict
"OP-Z
I tried to find perc samples that had no obvious FX, but no additional FX were added to any samples or synths in this performance.
Pretty dry, but that was the challenge. :-)
As it was a simple challenge, I finally had time to make something again after being too busy for my usual HWJ output for many weeks."

Distinctive Blue – Original 80s Synth-Pop Instrumental
video upload by Ian Dixon
"Distinctive Blue is an original 80s-inspired synth-pop instrumental built around driving bass, bright digital textures, layered synths and the polished electronic sound of the mid-1980s.
The track was created using a mixture of vintage and new synthesizers, combining vintage-inspired sounds, rhythmic sequences, atmospheric pads and melodic synth lines.
For this video, I wanted to show the actual instruments behind the music coming alive as the arrangement develops — from the first synth parts through to the full final mix.
🎹 Written, performed and produced by Ian Dixon.
Let me know in the comments what Distinctive Blue reminds you of and which synth sound stands out most.

Two classic 1980's #synthesizer recreations for less than $30? And Eurorack compatible. How...?
video upload by voltryx
"A Juno-6 and DX7?"
"In this video I take a look at the AMY board: a tiny, affordable ($29) Arduino-based DIY synth module built around the open-source AMY synth library. It packs USB, an SD card slot, digital and analog audio, MIDI, and CV I/O into a board small enough to fit straight into a Eurorack case.
I go over what the board actually is and what's in the box, then jump into a MicroPython REPL to show how the AMY library's synth, voice, oscillator model works, patching up a simple sine voice, triggering notes, and using the built-in PCM/sample engine and tag-based sequencer to create a basic drum pattern. From there I install it in my Eurorack rack, run through the signal chain (MIDI in from the Hermod+, CV/audio out, self-modulation via CV), and share some closing thoughts on where it's strong, where it's limited compared to something like the Disting NT, and what I want to try next (serum-style bass patches with compression/distortion).
If you've got one of these boards — or you're thinking about picking one up — let me know what you're building with it in the comments.

LOOK MUM WITH COMPUTER #synthjam
video upload by No Lake
"There are hardware enthusiasts, those who prefer a DAWless setup and then those who no longer need physical synths and do everything via software, and so on. Personally, I’m a staunch advocate of both worlds—hardware and software—and I believe the best results come from combining them. I am simply opposed to AI-generated music. It’s nothing personal against AI in general, which can be absolutely brilliant, but it’s just not my cup of tea when it comes to music. I also think that 100% digital is often a bit flat, soulless, but that's just my opinion. What about you?
