"I think you can tell what my favorite module is by now.

I'm gonna start giving these videos different names, and you can just assume that the reverb is cranked up ;)

This one is a bit different, but the result is much the same. 2 VCO's and a wogglebug go through various filters and waveshapers before the Neural Agonizer. The mankato modulates several parameters in the patch 90 degrees apart.

If there's anything I've learned so far it's I NEED MORE LFO's and VCA's. The next cabinet is gonna have 16 of each."

I'll be posting some more info once I get a little further on the road."

Experimental Television Center - Doepfer Vocoder Synthesis

Experimental Television Center - Doepfer Vocoder Synthesis from Nick Bontrager on Vimeo.
"Working on a Doepfer synth and a number of oscillator/patch bays, this is a very basic voice synth. By talking, the pitch of my voice is triggering a number of gates which will generate new audio based off incoming ramp waves from the various oscillator bays. So what you are actually hearing when I flip the switch is not my voice, it is just the 12-15 different oscillating patterns emulating my pitch. Odd."

Random Randomness Randomizer

YouTube via bigcitymusic. bigcitymusic.com
"Thanks to our friend Don for helping out with this patch.

We're using the Analogue Systems rs380 Modulation Controller's random out function. We're sending it an external clock; in turn the rs380 is sending a sample and hold control voltage to our modulation destination. Other modules used include the rs510e Synthi Trapezoid Generator, rs500e Synthi Filter, rs95 Oscillator, and the rs85 extended range LFO. The rs380 also offers an LFO with square and triangle waveforms, a white noise source, and a simple VCA."

FIRST PRODUCTION MATTSON MINI MODULAR DEMO NUMBER THREE

YouTube via redmartian. Part 1 Part 2
"Here is demo number three. In this one I wanted to show the sound of the filter and oscillators.

The filter's LP and HP outs are taken and then stereo spread using two VCAs. I have three oscillators tuned at intervals and I'm using an EG to sweep the filter and VCAs.

A jupiter 6 shows up, but its only used as a MIDI controller.

The drums are the same kit used in the other two demos and are sequenced on an MPC-1000. A note, I'm not using any filtering or processing (other than setting the start/end points) on the samples. They are dry and are directly from the MMM. On this tune I only used the stereo pan effect on the knitting needle sound.

The background and towards the middle you'll hear filter frequency modulation coming in and then fading out. I'm using one oscillator and running it into the filter's modulation input and then recording on the LP output of the filter.

There are two small melodies - one uses two saw tooths and the other uses a single saw with filter modulation by an LFO.

The video footage is just me being silly, sorry. (yootoob requires visuals, which is why demo two is on vimeo only)"

CGS Super Psycho Mod Source Project

via these auctions for various DIY projects.

"From CGS site:
This module is a much expanded version of the Psycho LFO, featuring six free-running oscillators, each variable between LFO and audio ranges, two of which can be switched to have triangular wave outputs. Each oscillator can be switched between low and high ranges, as well as off, and also has a rate LED, to allow visual determination of the frequency at which it is running. As per the original, there are also level and glide controls."

Buchla Source of Uncertainty 266 DIY

via vtl5c3 on electro-music.com

"A few years ago I realized that it would be possible to build my own Buchla 266 Source of Uncertainty. I took the schematics that were online and laid each one page out on a separate press n peel pcb layout. When I started putting it together, I exchanged a few emails with Scott Stites who pointed out some useful mods, which I will include here.

Today I will start things off by posting the first board layout and some sound samples that were created with it. I will post the remaining boards and samples to go with them as time permits. The original layouts have a few errors, so I'm going through each one to correct them before sharing with the public.

So, here goes: the first board, which is based off this schematic"

PING:II

"PING:II 拼图
by Dr Gooi Tah Choe and Darren Ng (a.k.a. sonicbrat)
Photography stops time. Music extends it. Can these two interpretations of time be one? Inter-woven by an oxymoron, PING:II explores this “limbo” in time/space through a jigsaw of two contradicting, yet related mediums. Musicians Darren Ng and Gooi Tah Choe present a discussion with audio-visual works of a joined creative process that crosses sight and sound.

This is the live recording of the performance... live sound improvisation by sonicbrat

Project site: sonicbrat.wordpress.com/projects/ping/

Instruments and Equipment:
Doepfer A100 modular system
Sherman Filterbank II
Moogerfooger MF105 filter
Laptop Synthesis, Live Sampling and Processing (max/msp + Plogue Bidule + Reaktor 5 + field recording playback)
Alesis Ineko
Electric Guitar + Boss RC20 looper + bow + ebow

Most of the synthesis is the A100 with no sequencers, just patching and filtering... with minimalist synthesis from max/msp, reaktor 5 and plogue bidule. Most of the filterings are done with Sherman Filterbank II and Moogerfooger MF105. This audio improvisation was performed live to visual feeds of photography by Dr Gooi Tah Choe."

DIY Yusynth Sample and Hold / Noise generator

YouTube via Thalassa77
"http://switchedonsynthesizer.blogspot...

Great DIY module designed by Yusynth. It's a sample and hold / noise generator with a lot of features :

1 - Sample and Hold
2 - Internal clock source ( sample rate variable )
3 - Clock out
4 - White noise
5 - Pink Noise
6 - Random signal
7 - Can be used with external clock signal
8 - Slew rate ( glide time between pulses on S&H )

Very fun module with a lot of possibilities. This video show only a few, the video quality is poor because is phone camera, the audio was recorded on computer. At the end of the video I added external reverb and delay :)"
