"This is a circuit bent Coleco Talking Teacher, very similar to the texas instruments SPeak and Spell only deeper and more analog

sounding. This thing will do some fantastic 8 bit droning glitch sounds or works as normal until you use the added mods.

Ive added:

1/4" closed circuit output jack that shuts off the onboard speaker when you plug in

Looping switch with advance button used to catch sounds that you can then further manipulate in musical fashion

Beat Loop switch that catches beat loops of phenomes and words

Master pitch control knob that drops the pitch way down to sputtering bits

Opto theremin control with on-off for touch free pitch control and cool dives, etc\

Glitch switch 2- these get the machine in experimental sputtering and non sensical phrasing

and reset button for when things get too far out and its time to start anew.

These are amazing little machines, i dont make many so get this one now before its gone.

ARP 2600 modular synthesizer

"bought new in 1980 at Caruso's Music in New London Ct... This unit is a 2601 Rev3, which is the very last revision of the 2600. It comes with the 3620 keyboard, which is duophonic. The last 1,000 units made were 2601s and only the last 100 or so were Rev3. They are quite rare. This is important, because the Rev3s did not have potted submodules, so they can be worked on. The rev3s were mechanically superior to the earlier models. Some people do not like the later filter as much, but that is an $99.00 upgrade from CMS. I like the sonics on this one, I have never found it to be dull or noisy, so I have never modded it.

The best 2600 to look for?

Chronologically, 2600's got more reliable and serviceable as production progressed throughout the 1970's. The biggest change was the 2601 update that replaced all the input jacks with a more reliable type of jack. However, this improvement required that each jack be hand wired to the circuit boards, pushing up the labor costs considerably. The printed circuit boards were fitted with additional supports that improved the tactile feel of the sliders and also improved mechanical reliability. The retail price of a 2601/3620 was $3300.00 in 1975.

Probably the best course would be to find a late model (2601) and get the audio upgraded here at CMS. The earlier units do sound better from the factory, but the numerous mechanical problems can add up to a hefty repair bill especially if the 2600 in question, has been exposed to moisture for long periods.


Extensive road use is obviously another cause for concern. Indications are a yellowish silkscreen (tobacco) and a worn silkscreen in the filter mixer and ADSR sections."

The three chord progressions using the Creamware MiniMax ASB in polyphonic mode forms the basis. After that 3 rhythmic tracks were added using instruments and sounds from Live. The solo is performed on the Clavia Nord Lead 1. Several takes where recorded and canceled before this one was approved because initially I wanted to use the arpeggiator from the Waldorf Q Keyboard to accompany the music but somehow that did not work. So the Waldorf Q does some Waldorf sounds. The Mellotron choir sound comes from the Roland XP-80. The music reminds me of church music, hence the title."
