"For quick sale! Funding my life at the moment... this is a PLL pedal unlike no other, and I designed it for synths and drums. I hope you love it.

push.pull sputterbox

pulsewidth synth harnmonics

phase (un)locked loops

the end of your audio is saturated in tails of sputtering electricity sounds.

a crunchy analogue sounding bit-crushing synthy thing

a sputtering fm-tuning finish to notes

a fuzzy pitch shifter

a pulse width tremolo synth can be applied to the incoming audio

a similar sound to a blaster as wielded by Han Solo can be achieved pew-pew

a self-oscillating madhouse of recharging capacitors

an additive of not-usual effectology

a distorted, glitchy, fuzzy bass synth

a drone full of clicks and pulses

an 8 bit erratic synthetic hyperdrive

when a combination of knobs are turned up into inaudibly high frequencies, it self-oscillates in unusual ways, often only when an audible signal is not present. This unique self-oscillation can cause frequencies to pulse in the absences, creating synthetic pulses when applied to rhythms.

when a combination of knobs are turned down to droning audible frequencies, it acts like an Atari Punk Console with frequencies only modified by the incoming signal.

The push.pull pedal is a synth effect based upon the PLL (Phase Locked Loop) IC, in which the PLL has been “unlocked” and let loose through 10 knobs.

10 knobs
makes your audio really, really loud
true bypass/power priming switch
voltage starve
yellow led
self-oscillation
surface constructed from recycled circuit board
thick epoxy makes it stompable
12v

Comes with power supply. Accepts 1/4" ins and outs. Operates best with a line level signal or very loud level for other instruments. Very loud output!"

"push.pull spectrum

pulse synth harmonics . phase (un) locked loops

The push.pull pedal is a synth effect based upon the PLL (Phase Locked Loop) IC, in which the PLL has been “unlocked” and let loose through 16 knobs, a joystick, switches, and a light controlled filter. It is hard to describe the sounds I have already heard: distorted, glitchy, fuzz, bass synth, drone, full of clicks, 8 bit, and erratic synthetic hyperdrive.

16 knobs

1 Joysick contolling four oscillators

Ocsillators intertwined in the PLL circuitry

Spectrum Controlled light modulation and filters

Filter section added

Voltage Starve

PLL Voltage Starve Oscillator

Octave divider

Strong Preamp

4 switches adding longer capacitator times and alternate routing of resistors

Mixing section for oscillators

Bright blue led pulses with PLL

"this organ has seen much use in recordings, all the artists that i record with always play on it and love it. because it has such a nice warm tone, it has 3 tones and a vibrato which parameters can internally be adjusted with screw potentiometers, so quite flexible!

it also has a drum machine which is really rich with 4 different analog drum sounds much like any of the analog drum synths of the day, these sounds are also adjustable inside the synth with screw potentiometers, so you have a lot of drum sounds just 2 screws away (its layed out really well because old synths were designed to be home serviced).

all works! some crackles in some of the travel of the slide pots but nothing major and with a bit more use might disappear completely! or just a clean.

very similar circuitry to ELKA, HOHNER and other organ manufacturers of the time."

6 x selection switches which select various sounds - these can also be mixed together
5 octave range selection.

This machine makes some very interesting sounds, hooked up to a delay pedal it sounds fantastic
Very rare, this model has built in speaker underneath.."

Transcendent 2000 Vintage Modified Analogue Synthesizer

via this auction

"A rather nice piece of synthesizer history from the now defunkt Manufacturer powertran. An english company selling many electronic devices as kits. Most of these designs were posted in the ETI electronics magazines as complete projects. The synth could be purchased ready made or in kit form. The kits were complete right down to the last nut and bolt (including the wood case). The synth was designed by tim orr, an ex synth designer at EMS. The Synth circuits were designed on a single circuitboard, all discreet components. The synth is highly bendable, if you so desire!. This unit has had several modifications, one of which should be apparent in the photo's. The keybed has been shortened slightly to accommodate a pitch and modulation wheel. The modulation wheel controls the LFO rate. Synth has an indicator light giving a visual indication of LFO frequency. The pitch wheel performance is good (but not fantastic). 2000s original pitchbend control was mounted on top of the synth... terrible place to put a pitch bend!!. Now it's more hands on and in easy reach. This is certainly a great synth for those classic analogue squelchy bass lines and effects. The filter has switchable Band Pass and Low Pass settings, comes close to moogs ladder designs for warmth and response. Very rare in this sort of condition and has become a desirable collectable piece of history that has true analogue circuits, nothing virtual......looks great too!"

My Curetronic Modular had not received any note-off via the CV/Gate Interface, obviously.
I droned the sound a bit, using some patching and a dark time sequencer. Played some stuff on my Juno 106 on top of it and added a vocalsample during mixing process.
It was late evening, one off those studio accents that happen sometimes.
Recorded on a ZoomR16, mixed the audio files bit in Reaper."

"JoMox Resonator Neuronium. I recently got hold of this RN, I'd been after one for a long time. The RN is a lot of fun to play, its also great fun to program and let it run on changing its patterns using "Stimulus Recombination" (The manual reads more like a science lecture!). I could literally listen to it for hours. I'll most likely be doing a few videos with this once I have some more time on it, its such a fantastic and rare piece of gear.
The video is all RN, sequenced by itself. Audio from RN stereo pair with a bit of reverb. I think it just sounds superb, its hard to appreciate listening through youtube (and its recorded into a crappy camera audio input) but standing in front of the speakers it sounds massive."

Jovian Synth Bit Beast Synthesizer

Published on Feb 2, 2013 Jovian Synth·1 video

"The Bit Beast is not currently in production. The estimated cost is about $500-$600. Please send us an email if you would like to be notified when more information and availability is known - info@joviansynth.com

For more info visit http://www.joviansynth.com/bit-beast.php

The Bit Beast uses the same chip as an Arduino to generate notes that are then chopped up and filtered by CMOS circuitry. The sound then passes through two analog voltage controlled filters. Both filters are unique designs that offer very different sounds. Filter 1 is a 12db state variable filter with low-pass and band-pass modes and overdrive control. Filter 2 is a 6db filter with low-pass and high-pass modes and a squelchy distorted resonance. The filters can be configured in parallel or two different serial configurations. Both filters have their own LFO and envelope generator."

Matt Traum - "James"

Published on Feb 2, 2013 PatchmanMusic·9 videos

"Matt Traum improvisation on Pat Metheny's classic "James".

I am playing the Steinerphone EWI on this. I thought I would play a little improvised version of Metheny's "James" harmonized ala Michael Brecker. This is a one-pass recording with no overdubs. The harmonizer is an Eventide Eclipse with a custom patch designed by myself being controlled in real time via foot switches.

I am playing what I call a "Hyper-EVI Steinerphone". It's the exact same model Steinerphone EWI Michael Brecker played for many years in the mid to late 1980s with Steps Ahead and on various studio sessions. This model was the first EWI that Brecker played and he took the instrument to amazing heights. This horn was hand made by the great wind controller inventor Nyle Steiner. It is an EWI (woodwind type controller)- but I have modified it internally so it fingers like an EVI (brass type controller). The horn plays incredibly well- it's the Stradivarius of wind controllers. It is hooked up to a companion synth system also designed by Steiner. In this system are two Crumar EVI synth modules and a Steiner "wood and glue" formant filter unit (which is not used in this video). Only one Crumar module is heard in this video fed into the Eventide Eclipse processor.

A little trivia on this system you see in this video: This is the actual synth unit that Doug Norwine played on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson with Melissa Manchester when she performed "La Vie En Rose" (you should be able to watch it on youtube).

Modulator Systems MS202 Voltage Attenuator / Foot Controller for Doepfer A100 Demo

video upload by ModulatorSystems

Published on Feb 2, 2013 ModulatorSystems·2 videos

www.modulatorsystems.wix.com/index
modulatorsystems@gmail.com

"The MS202 is a fabric-covered soft touch voltage attenuating pad which can be patched into any voltage source and destination on the Doepfer A100 and similar analog modular systems and synthesizers. The uses are only limited by your imagination but it can for example vary vibrato or filter modulation depth, allow through white noise in drum sounds, add random modulation to notes, allow extra sequencer notes to be triggered, and much more.

The MS202 can also be hit with drum sticks to vary drum synth sounds - though it only outputs a voltage, not a trigger or gate - and works with even greater range as a foot controller, finding use as a wah-wah, volume controller and much more. You can also cover the MS202 with any flexible surface and use it as a hidden variable voltage source.

Price is £39.00 with £5.00 UK shipping or free collection in London, worldwide shipping costs on request. Payment: cash, UK cheque or postal order, bank transfer. No PayPal."
