Scoping out Bifold - New Dual Channel Wavefolder From Intellijel

Bifold Intellijel

"Bifold is a dual channel wavefolder, where one channel (the P channel) has a sonic characteristic inspired by the Buchla-style Parallel “deadband” folding circuit, while the other channel (the S channel) is more characteristic of a Serge-type Serial folding circuit. Besides offering two unique flavours of wavefolding, Bifold features numerous feedback and routing options along with CV control, enabling you to mix, blend and crossfade those flavours into a rich stew of unique waveforms and harmonic movement.

In this video we take a quick look at how Bifold sounds and how it works, in order to get a sense of the creative possibilities offered by this module."

First Folds With Bifold

"This video provides a few demos of how Bifold sounds when used in musical sequences, drones, and distorting drums.

Video Chapters:
00:03 - Melodic sequence with blends of folding
01:36 - Distorting drums and aux feedback
02:36 - Ringmod bell tones and AM
03:28 - Growling drone"

Coming soon for $229.00

"Wavefolding can be one of the most powerful yet simple ways to introduce complex timbres to a simple waveform. When done well, the results can be warm, textured, organic and full of musical character. We studied some of the most revered wavefolding circuits and looked at ways to integrate the positive qualities of these into a design that was full of sweet spots and allowed for a huge amount of experimentation and modulation.

Bifold combines two unique wavefolders with a crossfader; One channel (the P channel) has a sonic characteristic inspired by the Buchla-style Parallel “deadband” folding circuit, while the other channel (the S channel) is more characteristic of a Serge-type Serial folding circuit. There are distinct differences to how they react to specific waveforms, modulation and even their overall frequency response. By linking both folders together with a voltage controlled crossfader we further expand the ability to blend these two different folders together to create new waveforms. But this just scratches the surface of possibilities. Ring modulation, blending, crossfading, complex noise generation, feedback modulation, cascaded folding and so much more are all possible thanks to the strategically placed routing switches, jack normals and attenuators and other control options. This is a module that invites much exploration and discovery and pairs well with almost any kind of modulation and sound source."

Endorphin.es Module Updates

New V4 Airways firwmare update (code-name 'Total Nightmare')

Published on May 23, 2020 TheEndorphines

"Introducing the V4 firmware update for Blck_Noir, Grand Terminal, Milky Way and Squawk Dirty modules.
BN, GT and MW obtained new reverse reverb, GT and SD has a new comb filter with self oscillating resonator along with bug fixes. MW has a new saturator on the end range of its volume knob"

Audio update of Milky Way, Squawk Dirty, Blck_Noir and Grand Terminal modules

Published on May 23, 2020 TheEndorphines

"Due to various requests, here is the simplest firmware update algorithm of series of modules Milky Way, Squawk Dirty, Blck_Noir and Grand Terminal.

1) Download the latest firmware from our website:
https://airways.endorphin.es

2) Select your audio output in OSX to be headphones. The ideal volume level is one bar below the maximum audio level.

3) Power on your system while holding TAP (MODE) button on the module you are updating. Bank LED will start blinking BLUE (GREEN), this means it is now waiting for an update file.
4) Plug a 3.5mm mono cable from your computer’s headphone output to IN1/AUX input on MW/SD,/GT/BN). Make sure the best out level trimmers are tuned all the way CCW. Plugging in a cable might cause a spike in the audio, so in case the LED starts blinking red just press the TAP/MODE button again.
5) Turn WiFi off to not disrupt the update procedure, play the latest firmware audio file. The module’s led will be continuously blinking fast (green or blue depending on the module), this means the update is running. If the led turns red during the update, it means something went wrong, restart the update process and try again, make sure the audio level is one bar below maximum and all the audio input level trimmers are turned fully CCW."

TTMC Dual Sine Saw new features

Published on May 18, 2020 Todd Barton

"I did 25 minutes of overview, demos and explorations on the prototype of this module here: [playlist below]

So check them out to hear/see and get a feel for this card.

This present video will just point out the new hardware features with this final production model.
http://tokyo-tape-music-center.xyz

The two main new features are:
1) a mixed output for both oscillator A and B with independent volume pots. This is great since you can now send both oscillators to the Aux Input on the Easel.

2) Now when switching the oscillators from Internal to External the large Frequency knob controls the pitch offset. In the prototype, like the original Buchla 158 module, in External mode you needed a CV processor to bring the pitch up into useable range.

I love these two new features and the greatly expand the possibilities of this card.

Sequencer Jam - Sequential Pro 3, Arturia MatrixBrute, Moog Voyager & MF-101 - ExperimentalSynth

Published on Feb 19, 2020 experimentalsynth

"Sequential Pro 3 is the MIDI master clock. MatrixBrute sequencer is synced to it. A Pro 3 oscillator is sent out its audio-rate CV post and filtered by the MF-101. An aux envelope CV is also sent to modulate the MF-101 filter cutoff. The Voyager's filter cutoff is also modulated by a clock-synced S&H LFO. All are processed by a Line 6 Echo Pro also synced to the master clock. Learn more at experimentalsynth.com"

Original 1970's MOOG 1120 Voltage Pedal Controller

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"The 1120 appeared around 1973 and continued in production with revisions at least until 1978, by which time it had been joined in the Moog catalogue by the 1130 Percussion Controller, the 1121 footswitch, the 1150 Ribbon Controller and the 1125 Sample & Hold.

The 1120 is a very sturdily built all-metal foot pedal, has a 9V battery internally (or can use a 9V mains transformer) and has two quarter inch jack outputs marked Output and Aux Out - in fact these are sending exactly the same output, from near 0V to near 9V.

The 1120 was intended for use with the Moog Sonic 6, MiniMoog, Moog Modular systems and other products, so it's an ideal addition to any Moog collection. However it's perfectly compatible with any modern CV-based modular system including Eurorack systems, creating volume swells, filter wah effects, VCLFO speed changes or anything you need.

This one's in extremely good condition with no significant wear to the Moog logo and underside label."

Critter & Guitari - Tapey for Organelle

Published on Jan 10, 2020 Critter & Guitari

"New patch for the Organelle! https://www.critterandguitari.com/org..."

"Recorded samples are pitched across they keyboard. Sample playback emulates a tape player with pitch & speed warble and ramping start and stop speeds.

Tapey records a sample up to 30 seconds long. The sample can be played by any key. The sample pitch is relative to the key's note. There are playback controls that emulate a tape player's ramping up to speed (and down from it) and warble. After sample is recorded, create and store sequences.

Critter & Guitari - Distributor Rec for Organelle

Published on Oct 4, 2019 Critter & Guitari

"Record samples, slice them up on the fly, and weave them across time with other sample slices all while arpeggiating and looping them!

Distributor Rec is an improvement of the original Distributor patch. This patch has three main functions: 1. Records an audio sample to each key; 2. Slices up those samples and arpeggiates them; 3. Interweaves slices from one sample with other sample slices as you play keyboard (or the sequencer).

-CALC- The Hungarians - Novation Summit Bi-Timbral Polysynth fooling around with some friends

Uploaded on Sep 20, 2019 -CALC-

"A petite jamette using the Novation Summit.
My prototype unit went to Budapest for some video work and came back with an absolutely killer patch on it. I really wanted to use it and so I came up with this track. (thanks to Yank, Imre and Chromasound!!!)

Here I'm recording Summit's Part B sequence into some flex machines on the OT and then noodling around with a sequence sent to Summit from Circuit.

The Circuit Mono Station chirps up and is set up with a random sequence, thats then sent through the Otobit Jnr pedal.... I LOVE THAT THING.

Towards the end theres a little bit of keys playing to fill the sound out
Octatrack is simply looping the Summit (in reverse) and delivering a rather nice beat.
The (borrowed) Roland TR 08 is thumping it's kick out every so often too. I didn't think I'd like that box quite as much as I do too. For 808 duties its great.
The little mixer to the right of Summit is the excellent Aux expander called 4Mul from Syntherjack, thats really useful too.

Hope you enjoy it
