Modular acid funk space jazz noodle
YouTube via darenager
"Experimenting with the modular and MFB503, all sequencing done on the modular, drums by the 503, a bit of flangey reverb on the modular courtesy of the lexicon. The bass is from the MOTM E350, the chords from the MFB OSC2. I'm just using the small modular in the centre. Thanks for watching, hope you enjoy it :)"

What is that little guy on top of the modular?
"In my old studio. Please note the stand-alone reverb module and its equally naked power supply. Very dangerous! Please don't do it like this! The grey metal box on top is the power amp module, which also has its own PSU, but safely inside the box."

CR78 Essential 80s Synthpop part 1 (Juno Synths, Electribe SX)
YouTube via harlemnightsmusic
"Tributing the early 80s classics again, this time a softer side, based on the Roland CR78 drummachine, which was used in many of my all time favourite New Wave tracks. Drum sounds were sampled and patterns rebuilt in the Korg Electribe ESX, with additional Linndrum sounds where in the original tracks acoustic drumkits were added.
All synth and bass sounds are from my Roland Juno 106 (1984) and Juno 60 (1982) synths, trying to emulate the Prophets and other synths used in the original tracks. Additional fx by Boss SE50.
All recreated by ear. None of the original tracks were sampled.

audio art exhibition in Copenhagen
closing this Sunday
Mikrogalleriet's solo exhibition for New York-based composer and artist Tristan Perich ends this Sunday in Copenhagen. His new body of work, Interval Studies, is a formal look at musical intervals as a dense continuum of microtonal pitch, expressed en masse as discrete 1-bit frequencies distributed across hundreds of individual speakers. Each speaker, emitting a single, primitive 1-bit tone, becomes a microscopic voice in the total cluster, substituting individual pitch for larger sonic masses.

First Play With Roland TR-909
YouTube via snolan1990
"So I got my 909 last week and this is my first proper play with it. There are alot of videos on Youtube that show the TR-909 being used in an Acid House or Techno context but not many showing it being used for the french disco sound that it is perhaps best known for so I thougt I would put a little sample based jam to show what it's capable of.
For those interested in the hardware the SP-808 is master clock and playing all the samples, The 727 is adding the latin sounds the 707 a couple of other sounds and the 909 in charge of the majority of the drums. Everything is in track play and I'm twiddling the Cutoff & Resonance on the filter."

There is nothing worse than having too many choices and not knowing which synth will create the sound you want the best. By using Synth Chains, you have a solution. Also great for easy access to your favorite presets."

Argon Updated to 1.1.0

via Argon
"Our main update is Loop Recorder.
Loop Recorder is newly added feature to 1.1.0 update.
You’re able to overdub on the recorded loop while playing it
and export the piece you made to your computer as .wav file."
Official release:
"Updated version(1.1.0) of the ARGON (iPhone 2G/3G/3GS and iPod touch; $1.99)
is now available at Appstore.
ARGON helps you to create new sounds by using the included
three Oscillators, a filter, an amplifier, a saturator
and a delay.
Also 64 factory presets and 512 user presets are included.
The Oscillators have various waveforms and FM and AM,
oscillator sync and oscillator modulation.
Filters have four lowpass (24dB, 18dB, 12dB, 6dB),
band-pass filter, highpass filter, and envelope/LFO.
The Amp offers overdrive (saturator), 3-band EQ, panpot and envelope.
The Delay Effect offers L/R delay.
It also includes Tempo Sync, an LFO and a spread parameter.
In particular, you can make your own pattern with Step-Sequencer.
And you can also make sound like human voice with Formant Oscillator.
Loop Recorder is newly added feature to 1.1.0 update. You're able to overdub
on the recorded loop while playing it and export the piece you made to
your computer as .wav file.
Here are some details about how the application works:

Tiptop Audio Bat Filter Review
.jpg)
"I've finally been able to unplug the "Dragonfly Delay" card and put the
"Bat Filter" through it's paces. 8 different filter programs are available, and they're not simple filters. Often there are two (even three) filters implemented in a program, some organised in series, others in parallel. Many of the filters are 8-pole too."
Note the Bat Filter is only $65 at Analogue Haven.
Tiptop Audio - Stackables review

"Along with my Z-DSP came 20 of the Tiptop Stackable patch leads. That is, the plugs on these leads allow you to stack plugs together, much like banana plugs do. The quality of the cables feels excellent, the plugs provide good grip, and stacking one on top of the other gives a reassuring click and feels solid."

Clavia Nord Lead 2 49 key Synthesizer
"The incredible Nord Lead synthesizer is taken a few steps further with the Nord Lead 2. It uses the same synthesis technology and sounds as good as the Nord Lead, but adds a few nice new touches. These features include a ring modulator, OSC 1 can sync with the white noise generator, increased LFO and arpeggiator waveforms and patterns, distortion in the squelchier punchier filter section and 4 individual outputs."
