This one in via Mr. Array. What you are looking at is The Wiard Zero Prototype built into Aries 300 module frames. You can find more pics and details on this sub-page of Grant Richter's synth-DIY page. Be sure to check out his site for more. Grant is the man behind Wiard. The following is an excerpt on the Bimorphic Filter Research Prototype (more modules are listed in the sub-page linked above):
"There are so many good filters in the world. I wasn't even sure I was going to make one. A system isn't complete without a filter though. But what new twist can I bring to filter design? One thing I'd like to see is voltage control of filter type. The way this is done is to take the sections of a filter (called "poles") and surround them with a switch matrix so they can be rewired into useful filter types (lowpass, bandpass, highpass and phase shift). An analog to digital converter is used to control the switch matrix, giving voltage control of the type."

"THE NEW MOON 568 IN ACTION"
http://lunar-experience.com "The M 568 QUAD SEQUENTIAL TRIGGER SOURCE is an elaborated trigger sequencer. It features four tracks of trigger positions, each with 32 steps, which can be combined to one long sequence of up to 128 steps:
4 sequences with up to 32 steps 2 sequences with up to 64 steps 1 sequence with up to 128 steps
The gate positions are activated by pushing the as- sociated button. The LED lights up. Pushing the button again deactivates the respective gate position.
More than one reset position per row can be set. The active reset buttons are displayed by means of blinking LEDs. By reaching the first blinking position a reset to step 1 is actuated (and triggers a gate, if position 1 is active/LED on).
To set/remove a reset position push and hold the „Set Reset Pos“ button - then push as many but- tons as desired and release „Set Reset Pos“.
Pushing and holding „Set Reset Pos“ and „Reset All“ deactivates all gate and reset positions at once.
The gate outputs are „mirrored“ depending on the chosen „Sequence Mode“. In 2 x 64 mode the gate outputs 1 and 2 respectively 3 and 4 deliver the same output, while the switch-on times of both parallel outputs may be different.
This means: E. g. output 1 with a short gate time provides all active gates, while output 2 with a re- ally long gate time provides only a few „long“ gate signals.
In 1 x 128 mode the four gate outputs provide four times the same signal in parallel. This time with in- dividual gate lengths, as desired, as well."

"There are a total of 26 new knobs and two new switches on the front panel. The standard KPR77 has no control over any sound parameters and as a result is a rather lifeless machine but these new knobs take it into a whole new world of analogue percussion. We have also adjusted the trigger pulse of the bass drum to give it a more 808'ish clicking punch instead of the standard weak tick."
Be sure to see the rest of the site for more mods.
"If you clock your analog sequencer in a high frequency using an oscillator you get a waveform generator with discrete parts that you can control. With the other channels you can control other things like filter cutoff or resonance."
via this auction "These are great little machines with true bass massiveness that differentiates from the 101 for some reason. They are compact, portable and powerfull. Great for live shows and as a master controller as well with its cv/gates outs. Very fat and warm filters typical of Roland during this time. You can run output voltages from "Built in Synth" outputs or the "Est synth" track as well. Phones out, main out, cv-gate kybd in, sync out or in, memory dump or load (get that cassete player out and freak the computer face nerds when you do your tape dump)."

"This started out as an experiment in running a pad from my G2X through the 292e. I then proceeded to perform some "interesting" video editing. Maybe I got carried away :^) No overdubs, everything is live. It's called Cold Friday because it was cold(for El Paso) and it was Friday."
I can finally break the news to you about the biggest feature that will come to Maschine in the next free update - which is plugin hosting!
So, according to popular demand, the upcoming 1.6 version will allow you to use VST and AU plugins as sound sources and effects in your Maschine project. This includes both the whole NI range of instruments and effects as well as any third-party plugin.
Check the screenshot for an idea of how this will look like. Instrument plugins can be used in any sound channel, and effect plugins can be inserted on both the sound and group channels as well as on the master.
Obviously the addition of plugin hosting requires quite a bit of development and testing. Regarding the timing of the release - version 1.6 is about to go into internal beta testing this month, and we are currently planning to make it available to you through a public beta test in January, with the final release probably coming up around two months later. As always, these are projected dates that can still change a bit.
Plugin hosting is the most prominent feature addition in 1.6, but there will be quite some more useful things being added with that update. Look forward to the coming weeks when we will post more details about Maschine 1.6!
via Joe: "I was working on synthesizer music for 'switch on', an opera by santiago blaum, based on the work of wendy carlos, robert moog and rachel elkin, in berlin earlier this year.
I only have a few photos but i thought you might be interested in highlighting the project.
The opera will be performed again in dresden, germany, in march 2011 and hopefully will travel to the UK after that."
"As you know, an interstellar transmission through space can sometimes take years to reach its destination. In keeping with that the Interstellar Crew have finally joined the virtual world in Facebook. The Amin Bhatia Composer page contains audio, images and is a quick way to keep in touch.
So, if you are also a Facebook user, please click through to the new page and press the Like button. When the Like counter hits 1000 we'll start posting previously unreleased tracks for download!"

"extremely scarce 1978 Sennheiser VSM 201 Vocoder. With regard to design, sound quality and historical context, the VSM 201 is considered by many to represent the absolute pinnacle of vocoder effects. With production believed to be under 100 units total, combined with an original price of $20,000.00 US, claiming the Sennheiser VSM 201 was reserved for a highly specific clientele would be a serious understatement: there are simply none available. Take advantage of this probable once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to buy the best vocoder ever made."
"Starting on November 17th 2010, the components of all KORG Legacy Collections series will now be offered for sale as individual virtual instruments including: "MS-20", "Polysix", "Mono/Poly", "M1", "WAVESTATION", "MDE-X". Also available is the new "KORG Legacy Collection - Special Bundle", which is the complete bundle of all of the Korg Legacy Collection software titles at the KORG USER NET SHOP.
With this change, we will no longer offer the packages of software titles like "ANALOG EDITION 2007" and "DIGITAL EDITION". From now on, individual software will be provided instead of them..." via korguser.net
Here's hoping they port the rest to the iPad with full MIDI support... Fingers crossed.

"Here's some ways to make a variety of phase-related changes to a sample using the MachineDrum. You can make classic phaser/flanger sounds, but also a distorto-phaser and other effects. The basic idea can be used with all kind of other variations such as filter sweeps, panning, reverb+delay, and so on. In the video, I used a basic sound and a simple stripped-down progression on purpose so that the changes can be heard more clearly. This is not a musical statement--just a guide to using the gear to make some effects, some of which are a bit out of the ordinary. Have fun. HD version available so you can see the screen."

"Nasty mutant colorflex dubstep. Everything is almost completely sequenced from colorflex. Logic is sending scene changes to colorflex . Colorflex is sequencing 16 bus sends in logic, Triggering Maschine, Triggering Alchemy and Buffeater and the instances of Absynth are input fx as well as triggering samples via Audio mods. Bass sounds I originally sampled from an elektron machinedrum. It was a twisted clap or LT? Can't remember but I do remember setting hi retrigger rates and down tuning alot. Mp3 can be downloaded via my soundcloud page."

"A brief demonstration of the Chimera Synthesis bC6 synth [aka Walnut].
We are only making 100 of these little units [the bC6 project started off as the bastard offspring of a test bed for parts of the bCX/bC16mk2, and a plank of American Black Walnut].
