Wavetable Pad - Waldorf Blofeld, Eventide H3000 Valhalla Vintage Verb

"Its been a while since I did a clip with the Blofeld. While the Virtual analog side of the synth is great I have many other synths that can look after this work. I keep this synth around the studio mainly for its ability to manipulate and play wavetables. If you also use Audioterm the pallet available its limitless.

Here is an example of making a wavetable pad and using some plugin's and outboard gear to create a small world of wavetable sound. One of the challenges with any pad sound is to stop it becoming stale, movement in the sound is always key. This is where the Blofeld excels.

If you want to know more about the Blofeld please check out Mark Pigott's excellent channel. He has really got out every penny of value to be had on this synth and has some excellent tutorials."

Rheyne - Studio Tour and Lighting

"Here's a little rundown of the current setup, and an overview of how the lighting works with Ableton​ and an Enttec​ DMXIS, including some closeups of the plugins in the Ableton session.

Much like the music in the "live jams", there are no pre-recorded lighting cues. Each instrument in the studio is connected to its own fixture, which only lights-up when that instrument makes a sound. Feel free to ask questions in the comments!

"The Verbos Scan & Pan is a four channel mixer with voltage control over the level and pan position per input. What makes it unique is its "scan" function, where multiple adjacent channels can be mixed together at once with voltage control over the 'center' (primary channel) and "width" (how strongly the adjacent channels are blended in). Here I demonstrate the scan function with multiple waveform outputs from an Intellijel Dixie II+ VCO, using an envelope generator (half of a Roland 540) to articulate that mix during every note.

"Listed here for the serial number itself is the world's last 50 Dollar Minimoog, purchased from a Mexican Elvis impersonator in the late nineties, traded for a Moog Liberation, and gigged with and cared for by me since 2004. the co-inventor of the voltage controlled synthesiser, Herb Deutsch, played this Minimoog at Knobcon 3 (pictured).

work done: I upgraded the mod box with brand new glide and decay rocker swtiches, a usable glide footswitch input (the original switch inputs on the Minimoog use a nonstandard jack which uses a deprecated 3/16" plug size), and pushbutton momentary switch for glide. the tune knob is a larger knob the same size as VCO 2 and 3 frequency. in the mid-2000s we put new bushings in the keyboard. before i decided to sell it, it was serviced by someone with more experience with Minis than i do and some pots and both bulbs were replaced, switches cleaned, and everything calibrated."

37 new sliders, Bourns PTL serie with led. Each color has an individually adjustable trimmer to adjust the brightness. The colors are according to the color code of the Odyssey.
The guitar part (Board E and D) are present and fonctionnel, but not used in this configuration.
The Guitar microphone is included. The connector are changed for a less expansive one (DIN 6, the same as input of the avatar)
Board D power supply connector are not connected (Reduce consumption).
- the Portamento, Guitar vol slides , and switchs string select has no effect
Two modifications are been made to allow the adjustment of both oscillators pitch to tune with another instrument :
- the Triger sensibility is used for a (reverse Log) pitch adjustment
- the 3 positions switch Env Follow is used to an approximatively +/- 2 octave pitch adjustment

Due to the configuration of the Axxe slider the resonance are inverted (low on the top) and to have a maximum resonance,
the settings of Q is very hight, that will take the filter in oscillation depending of the frequency and the reso.

"This particular TB-303 was imported from Japan a while back, and although it had some mileage it sounds absolutely fantastic! We decided to have the synth customised in black and as you can see it looks daamn sexy!
You will notice a crack on two corners as seen in the pictures, however this is hardly noticeable due to the custom spray.

We have had several 303's in our time and they do sound ever so slightly different but this one is arguably the best we have come across."

This unit has just had a new capsule fitted to the microphone by one of New Zealand"s Best Equipment Techs - Doug Jane

As well as repairing the mic I asked him to check the unit over and take a look at the VU meter as sometimes the VU wasn't moving. He concluded it was sticking - but we didn't venture further into it.

Doug also printed out a full Schematic for the unit and this is included in the purchase."

"Inspired by some electronic music performances on the Superbooth 2017 (a very famous synth fair in Berlin) I tried to create some similar stuff, meaning creating music without using a keyboard, without a melody, without harmonies. I never did this before and therefore I'm just a mere amateur. I recorded four sessions each around 6 to 9 minutes. As no normal human being will be able to stand such a challenge, I compiled some minutes of the four sessions in one video.
