SYNSET FM is a complete 6 operators FM synthesizer with the addition of 3 dedicated FM drums channels, a sequencer, 2 arpeggiators and an effect section. The programming of the voices is very user friendly, thanks to the FaderOS and the 5 encoders. 2 more controls are provided to control your prefered effect in realtime. No limit to experiment with FM synthesis and create your own amazing sounds.

5 parts pattern sequencer and 2 arpeggiators

The SYNSET FM is designed to be very intuitive and provides everything you need for easy and quick music creation. You will be able to program great patterns and build a complete track without the need of a computer or other instruments. All this is controlled by a user friendly 16-step sequencer. A digital mixer is present to set every instrument level and a special mute function is featured for easy and quick live stage usage. A 16 keys keyboard allows to program the patterns or even play live with various modes availables (Sequencer, Live or Arpeggios). When edited, it is possible to save the complete pattern context on 16 availables pattern memories. A song mode is also available to assemble your patterns and make a complete song.

Control your existing gear

SYNSET FM has a dedicated external track allowing to simply control another instrument through USB, MIDI or CV/Gate interfaces.

FX section

An FX section is also present providing delay, chorus, distortion and even a resonant lowpass filter with LFO.

Complete and professional connectivity

The presence of USB, MIDI and CV/Gate allows the instrument to be interfaced with the widest range of instruments and devices. The MIDI implementation is very complete and allows to control all synth and sound parameters.

Stability is much improved than the early releases (that everyone hates on) - the key is to assembling & saving kits in one location (internal memory, SD card or flash drive).

Synth Stuff Ep. 39 - Novation X-Station

"In 2004, something thought it would be cool to combine a MIDI controller, synthesizer, and an audio interface. The synth engine is derived from Novation's Supernova and it reminds me a bit of a Korg MS2000 with it's early/mid-2000's VA sound. There aren't many keyboard/interface combinations like this out there so check this out if that's your thing."

Novation Peak - Day Two

"Here (finally!) is my Day Two video for the fabulous Novation Peak 8-Voice Polyphonic Synthesizer. This has been a few weeks in the making, but I had in mind from the start an evolving longer-length soundtrack and that required a lot more time to put together the video.

The soundtrack itself goes on a kind of journey, it evolves through different phases but ultimately ends up where it started. This is very much how I see humanity evolving and that was the inspiration for the images that I chose for the video.

There is no synth-related information in this video, it is all about the sound and images, I will put together a "breakdown" video to go through my sound and composition choices next time.

"Here's my introduction and first patch play around with the Erica Synths Graphic VCO. As I often do I wanted to share my literal first patch, which It think always reveals a good amount about a module. What's immediate? How does the interface feel? What sounds jump out with ease? I'm very impressed with the interface on this and having two encoders and a button is incredibly quick to fly around a range of great settings and sounds. The tune-able sub is a nice touch with options to blend the main output into the second sub orientated output, as is the option to have different waveforms or a copy of the main waveform for the sub. In depth and comprehensive video to come in the not too distant future."

Another set up combination of these itzy bitzy teeny weeny beach machines:
Volca Keys sends sync to the Teenage Engineering PO-12. The voice you hear is generated with text2speech app on the smartphone. All three elements are mixed with the patchblocks hub. The sum output goes thru a pump delay of the kaosspad and then to the Yamaha Pocketrak recorder. Fun sound!"
