Original Accessory Operation Manual.

"This Mini is in good shape but has a few blemishes, which is typical for gear this age; these have been highlighted in the photos. It has had a small mod done which doesn’t affect the performance if you leave it alone: there’s a toggle switch on the rear that disables the power to the VCOs, the price has been reduced to reflect this. Included is a custom made Gate to S-Trig converter that is powered from the DC outputs on the back of the Mini, so just add a couple of cables for CV and you can hook this up to any standard CV / Gate system. Also included is some of the original documentation: MiniMoog Sound charts, some dope sheets & a book about the optional accessories.

Recently back from the shop after a full restoration that includes new key bushings, external input overload lamp, power cord & rubber feet. In addition, the keyboard leveling & timing was adjusted, the CV bus was polished & internal calibration was performed. All the original parts will be shipped with the unit."

Portabellabz Synthi Card for Buchla 208

Published on Feb 4, 2019 Todd Barton

"The new EMS Synthi (licensed) Card by http://www.portabellabz.be
be sure to checkout these audio files for best sound http://www.portabellabz.be/SYNTHI_Car...
Great to have this onboard.! Wonderful sounds and timbres. I will be making more videos -- hope you enjoy this teaser."

And via Brian Comnes, spotted on Muffs:

"I'm happy to announce the release of a new Portbellabz card for Music Easel and 208 under EMS Cornwall license.

This card expands the Music Easel or 208 with original EMS Synthi A and VCS3 circuits : an oscillator that produces simultaneous square and triangle waveshapes with wide range and features useful modifications (synchronization, shape CV, hi/lo range) and a noise generator with variable colour, together with my acclaimed Random Voltage Generator modification module that expands many original EMS Synthi A, AKS and VCS3, unlike the 208's one, it's true random.
The inputs and outputs voltages are adapted to match the ones used in the 208.

It will be available in late February / early March, pre-built (€460 + shipping, Rogans and rear edge connector in option) or as a DIY PCB set (€130 shipped) like the 208 ToolBox.

The prices include a commission for Robin Wood at EMS, that is the same for each pre-built unit or PCB set sold.

It works with 208p, 208r (not rev1) and BEMI / Buchla USA Easels. The tracking can be set to 1V/oct, 1.2V/oct or 2V/oct (or other, but who wants that ? ).

A very few privileged persons were lucky enough to already test a prototype and enjoyed it. Thanks to them for keeping the secret.

Hopefully a demo video of the great Todd Barton should pop up soon, thanks in advance Todd.

In the meantime, here are some (very basic) demo of the card with my own 208.
All sounds are coming from the card except the CO modulation track (208's CO modulated by the card). A 218r was used to demonstrate tracking. It's a bit high in the lowest notes but this is fixed.

http://www.portabellabz.be/SYNTHI_Card_demos_mp3.zip

Oscillator
- 100% analogue discrete components
- square and triangle outputs, blue bananas are full range outputs for modulation, red knobs are outputs to the mixer
- wide range from very slow LFO to ultrasonic, switchable hi/lo range with fine tuning
- tracking good on about 5 octaves via the 208's keyboard CV in
- variable frequency CV input with attenuverter via black banana
- variable shape CV input with attenuator via black banana
- variable sync input with attenuator via black banana

Noise
- 100% analogue discrete components
- white banana is full range output for modulation
- red knob is output to the mixer
- variable colour

Mixer
- tinijax out to feed the 208's preamp
- banana out for mixed modulation

Random voltage generator
- available on the white banana - a mini slide switch behind the panel selects noise or random, this affects the white banana only, the noise is still available in the mixer when random is used
- clock input via the 208's inverter "to card" socket
- noise colour changes the random voltage

Bill Sequeira kindly did this nice overview. Thank you Bill.
The pictured card is a prototype, the production one will look very similar.

Thanks for your interest and more soon."

Took me a sec to realize why this 6R looked different.

"Oberheim Mateix 6R. Great 80’s rack synthesizer. Hard to beat the sound of an obi. Add a little reverb on top of these sounds and you’ve got 80’s perfection! Unit functions perfectly. Volume fader failed on the front and was removed. It hasn’t effected anything use wise for me. I’ve used it in my studio setting and never had any volume issues."

I see a volume fader cap. Hmm... If you bid on this one, you might want to get some clarity.

"A complete kit of components and a PCB, with component overlay.
Easy to build, should take about 40 minutes (by medium experienced tecs!)

The long gold PCB pins are not supplied - but you can use 1mm guage wire to mount the PCB, with no problems.

Please note: The VCA takes a small amout of setting up, using the trimmers on the ARP2600 unit. If these trimmers are not set correctly distortion can occur.

Thanks for looking in, and please see our other listings for ARP synth spares!"

Test CRUMAR BIT99 Synthesizer - Artwork Limited Edition

Published on Feb 3, 2019 Buda Music

"The Bit 99 was offered by Crumar in 1985.

It is a 6 voice polyphonic analog synths with 2 DCO's
on board and CEM3328 Filters.

The instrument featured 3+3 notes in layer mode and
99 patch memories and also has MIDI IN/OUT.

Note: Read presets SySex files by MIDI IN.

The Bit 99 is one of the first synthesizers from which traditional knobs and sliders have been banned.

The edit method is easy to understand.

The Bit 99 can produce a wide variety of sounds but bass sounds are the best.

With a polyphony of three notes, instead of six normally, you can have two sounds layered!

Possibilities are almost unlimited and if the 99 patches are not enough you can save the data to tape and load it when you want!

This synth was used by 808 State but the synth sounds a lot like Orbital's "In-sides" album.

SPECIFICATIONS
Polyphony - 6 voices
Oscillators - 2 DCOs per voice
LFO - 2 LFOs assignable to VCA, VCF, DCO1, DCO2
Filter - VCF: cutoff, resonance, tracking, invert (inverts VCF values), ADSR
VCA - ADSR
Keyboard - 61 full size keys with sensibility control, semi weighted
Memory - 99 patches (75 single programs and from 76 to 99 for "split" or "double" modes)

(The CRUMAR BIT99 synthesizer of this video is a unique piece of hand-painted artwork)"

Published on Feb 4, 2019 SchneidersLaden

"Maciek, Marcin and Tomek from Xaoc Devices were so kind to explain their more sophisticated modules to us. What initially looks like a lecture at university, is actually a quick and very good explanation of the huge and often overlooked possibilities of their Drezno and Lipsk modules. Those two go to the heart of digital-to-analog conversion (and the other way round) and are therefore perfect examples of what makes modular synthesizers interesting in the first place! You can go as deep into the shaping of sounds and modulations as possible! At the end of the workshop they also talked about their first VCO module - Odessa, an additive oscillator with great potential.
