Behringer MS-101 vs Roland SH-101 - The 101 Shootout!

Published on Feb 5, 2019 Failed Muso

"Far from being a truly scientific comparison, I was fortunate enough to be loaned a genuine, mint-condition Roland SH-101 so that I could stack it up sonically against Behringer's forthcoming MS-101.

The main objective of this video is to demonstrate how close the MS-101 gets to sounding like the SH-101and to see if it really can be a viable alternative to a synth that still commands £1K+ on the second hand market. As such, it is more of a comparison video, rather than one that explores all the sonic possibilities, features and functionality of the MS-101.

Watch the video, judge for yourselves!"

Pure Sound: Korg Volca Modular

Published on Feb 5, 2019 SUTURE SOUND

"Disclosure: A Korg employee gave me this synth at NAMM. They didn't ask me to make anything with it but hey it's a new synth and we're all curious how it sounds. This is a video of me using it for the first time, patched for about 20 minutes and trimmed it down to my favorite bits. Raw audio recorded direct with no post processing."

Dave Smith Instruments Prophet Rev2 Demo 16 Voice

Published on Feb 5, 2019 Synth & Sundry

"A simple demo of two or three different patches I like on the Dave Smith Instruments Prophet Rev2. These are factory presets which I have modified slightly. No external effects used here - this is the Rev2 by itself recorded with OBS. I'm using the 16 voice model which is great for stacking voices.

The bass line halfway through the video is from repro 1 vst, not from the rev2."

Roland JUNO-60 arpeggiator fun through DW-8000

Published on Feb 5, 2019 synthlegends

"Another video and some improvisation fun tweaking the Roland JUNO-60 through the delay effect of the KORG DW-8000 E. The KORG DW-8000 E is a special modded version of the German distributor. It has an anlog in jack on the backside where you can route external audio signals through the internal delay effect of the DW-8000. Also it has got additional 16 waveforms on the ROM and 64 extra storage for patches. Have fun with this video and if you like, than like:-) Cheers!"

STG Soundlabs: The Radiophonic One | Matt Chadra

Published on Feb 3, 2019 ClavAnother

"Here is a first look at the Radiophonic One, the first complete synthesizer made by STG Soundlabs. This system features the much anticipated .VCO module which is, in my opinion, the most musically useful and innovative Oscillator Module we have seen yet.

This new synth offers immediate gratification, and simply puts a smile on my face.

Also featured in this video is the awesome Sea Devils Filter, a module that has been on my wish list for quite some time now.

As I was having so much fun, I added a bit of reverb and delay."

using Force’s hardware control surface

Oberheim TVS1 Two Voice (built between 1975-1979) - simple sequencer jam

Published on Oct 15, 2018 Xaver von Treyer

"A quick jam on the freshly serviced Oberheim TVS1. Up for sale soon via the known channels: eBay & Spheremusic. If it doesn't meet the price expectation I will keep it. It's a beautiful synthesizer and it sounds amazing. I used to own a SEM and sold it. This is a notch above the SEM to put it mildly: sequencer 2 SEMs, a keyboard, S&H, semi-modular mod. It checks all the boxes and the guy that did the service did an amazing job.

This is the real thing. No re-issue, no clone. Pure analog bliss."

"Audio and Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2019

This is my Delta VCF 8HP analog filter module.
It's an adaptation of the Korg Delta/Poly-61 filter.
The Delta VCF 8HP is the same circuit as my previous versions.
Today I'm patching into the wilder side of this filter.
I bumped the resonance trimpot a bit for this one.
So be warned, there's a bit of wonderful resonant squealing ahead.

ADDAC System 306 VC Transitions - Performance orientated macro control for Eurorack

Published on Feb 5, 2019 DivKidVideo

"So here we have the absolutely lovely little ADDAC System 306 VC Transitions Eurorack module. It creates "macro controller" type performance orientated control with some simple patching and set up. There's 5 offset voltage outputs that can have a minimum (or starting) voltage and then a range of voltage added on top. Want to move from 1V to 3.5V or from 10V back to 7V? Then this does that easily and it does it with 5 individual outputs all scaled and trimmed to suit their sources controlled by a slider on the bottom of the module. That slider is also CV controllable turning the module into a 1 CV to 5 CV output with each of the 5 CVs related in movement but individual in their ranges and movement. It works right up to audio rates too.

TIMING INDEX / SECTIONS

00:09 Patch previews

00:59 Feature run down

02:01 Demo patch, setting up “macro controllers” and modulating multiple things.

05:58 CV input, modulation offset/attenuation and distribution.

Published on Feb 5, 2019 Luke Neptune

"I’ve uploaded this subtitled version of my track Mother Earth.
Some people have asked who the lady is that does the speech in the middle of the track? Her name is Valerie Kaur, she’s a documentary maker & American civil rights activist. The speech is from an interfaith service on the NYE of 2016 which was called after a series of hate crimes in the USA, including earlier that week when a Sikh man was shot in his driveway by a masked man who shouted ‘go back to your own country’ before pulling the trigger.
For me the message is simple... Love over hate."
