Radiator Video Projection (abstract visualizer)

"I want to showcase a Radiator feature that we haven't talked about much.

The Radiator supports laser projection directly from the built in db25 and the Ether Dream DAC (via the rj45).

The Radiator simultaneously supports video output from the built in HDMI interface and a custom render engine we've created called "Laser Raster".

This video is entirely video projection through a Casio DLP projector (yes, *that* Casio projector) and then filmed with an iPhone 8. No lasers were used in this video.

The Radiator with video projector can be used for safe and legal audience scanning."

Intellijel Multi-FX 1U

Published on Mar 4, 2020 Intellijel

Clockable Delay, Reverb and Chorus Effect!

Multi-FX 1U provides three carefully crafted and highly musical sounding delay based FX in a compact 1U package. Powerful on its own but even more fun as par of a bigger fx chain that could include the Digiverb 1U, Pedal I/O 1U and other 3U FX modules like the Rainmaker and Springray for some dub craziness.

Features Three FX modes:
DELAY – tap/clock syncable, controls for rate/division, tone (feedback low pass filtering), and feedback amount
CHORUS – controls for modulation rate, tone (brightness) and modulation depth
PLATE REVERB – controls for pre-delay, tone (brightness), and decay time
Stereo Wet/Dry balance for all three FX mode

"PPG 2.3 - anyone looking hat has never heard it, check the YouTube video, check out others, and then come back.

I installed the wonderful Virtual Music OS upgrade (currently installed version is 8.3, serial #29) and will contact Alexander and transfer ownership after the sale. Lots of great updates with the OS - fixed a broken wavetable, fast MIDI response, MIDI CC control over wavetable sweeps, and more.

I also installed a VFD display. What does that mean? It means a clear, bright, sharp display. It means no burnt out backlight and dim display. It means no annoying inverter whine to power the backlight.

I installed new keyboard bushings and leveled the keys.

Included is also the 2.3 manual written by Dominic Milano, the older PPG manual, a handy shortcut sheet, the OS 8.3 documentation, service manuals for the 2.2 and 2.3, and a half dozen SSM 2044 ICs. I also found the documentation for the Noritake VFD display, so that's in there as well..."

LITTLE BIG SOUND: Ambient orchestral cinematic Korg NTS-1 & Volca Keys: Jam Impro #NTS-1 Nu:Tekt

Published on Mar 4, 2020 Gary P Hayes

"Such a surprise this little box and although I would have loved to take it outdoors, torrential persistent rain put an end to that, so a little duo with Volca Keys. The effects in the NTS-1 are pretty amazing, particularly what they call 'riser' reverb, which is almost as good as Strymon's shimmer, so this is used throughout. Other notables are crisp ping-pong delay and some great chorus's. It can also cover everything from deep rich basses through to very complex non standard arpeggios... obviously it has significant limitations compared with instruments 20x the price, but that limitation is what allows you to explore and find treasures, vs being given the universe and hardly exploring anywhere because it is too vast ... ContinuuCon 2020 Set for April 27-29 In Palmela, Portugal

"ContinuuCon 2020, the fifth annual international Haken Continuum Conference, will take place on April 27–29 in Palmela, Portugal. Musicians and technologists describe the Haken Continuum as the world’s most uniquely expressive electronic musical instrument. As in previous years, ContinuuCon 2020 will extend an opportunity for Continuum players, sound designers, software developers, and electronic music enthusiasts to explore the Continuum Fingerboard and ContinuuMini through performances, workshops, lectures, and more.

University of Illinois professor Dr. Lippold Haken and Canadian film and TV composer Edmund Eagan developed the Continuum, the ContinuuMini, and their internal sound engine, the EaganMatrix, over decades of collaboration. Both men will be on hand throughout the event and will be joined by numerous other authorities to share their knowledge and musical expertise.

On April 27, just two days after Superbooth ends in Berlin, the conference will begin with a reception for attendees followed by a public concert at the Theatre S.Joao in Palmela. For the next two days, master players and authorities on the Continuum will give presentations and demos at the Palmela Public Library.

This ContinmuuCon will be the first opportunity to hear Expressive E's Osmose played together with Continuum -- both of these instruments have fast and accurate continuous sensing, both incorporate the EaganMatrix, and yet the difference between keyboard and continuous surface makes them very unlike each other. The performance by Edmund Eagan (on Continuum) on stage with Piano and Continuum virtuoso Rob Schwimmer (on Osmose) will be a historic not-to-be-missed event.

About Palmela

Located between the estuary of the River Sado, and the hills of the Serra da Arrábida, It has been inhabited since pre-historic times due to its privileged and strategic location. Palmela is Music – In the community, Music has a prominent place in the daily lives, where the act of creating and re-creating springs organically. Palmela, presents nature, heritage, gastronomy, award winning wines, arts and crafts and the beautiful beaches of the Arrábida, making it an excellent place to welcome the ContinuuCon event.

Roland JX-03 Synthesizer, The Virtual Graphics Programmer - GP 002

Published on Mar 3, 2020 Robert Ch

Visit my website at www.robert.chrispijn.eu for more images.
Just click on the menu 'Roland JX-03' [actually do a find for Roland - it's way down on the page]

Why this?
A piece of history: On the Old Roland JX-3P there was a huge space on the right side of this synthesizer. It contained a graphical representation of the layout of the optional PG-200 Hardware editor. So I designed this version for the Roland Boutique JX-03 , in a Virtual way... A small separate unit I call the The GP-002."

"Yamaha TX816 - 8 DX7's in a Rack! - 8 Digital FM Synthesizers

Nice Condition, overall very clean!

This is a classic of FM synthesis. This edition of the DX7 has the pretty, cleaner sound of the MKII as opposed to the grittier sound of the original MKI.

I would say the sounds are also more powerful than the MKI.

I just installed new batteries in all 8 modules - they are metering 3.3 Volts

This one is loaded with 8 banks of my favorite sounds.

Sounds from the Yamaha VRC Collection, SoundSource Super LA D50/D70 collection, and various other carts I have owned over the years.

I consider these patches to be of high caliber, I cannot guarantee that you will like all 256 sounds but there are lots of great ones.

Fully Functional. I have been using this as two large 4 DX7 Synths for years. I like to route these to a mixer and mix between 4 sounds each to create 2 huge sounds."

Quick Synth Improv From Scratch - Nord Lead & Zoom 1201

Published on Mar 4, 2020 ChrisLody

"So being the total masochist that I am I've taken on another daily music challenge for March over on Instagram linked to the Electronic Curiosity Collective that come with a set of suggestions you can try for each day. Today's suggestion was to improvise something completely from scratch. So I took it upon myself to create a sound and record something as quickly as possible. I've truncated the sound creation down as much as possible as it get a bit dull, but it took me about 10 minutes to go from a standing start, create a sound whilst coming up with ideas and put this together. Not bad :)

So obviously this is played on the Clavia Nord Lead with the Zoom 1201 providing reverb shown in the frame on a couple of blocks of wood, proper low tech solution. I've been experimenting for a long time trying to move away from playing diatonic notes and chords (notes within a fixed scale) as I increasingly find it boring to listen to and play, so this jam is me exploring just that. Ends up sounding a bit unpredictable this, a kind of untrustworthy vibe maybe."

Moog Semi-Modular Synthesizers: Interconnectivity II

Published on Mar 4, 2020 Moog Music Inc

"Four instruments from Moog's semi-modular family of analog synthesizers (Matriarch, Grandmother, Mother-32, and DFAM) connect together in a new exploratory composition.

In this patch, Grandmother serves as a master clock, distributing sync signals to the Matriarch, Mother-32, and DFAM. The patch begins with the Grandmother playing a simple bassline, processed through a DIY J.H. Haible phaser, and one of the Matriarch’s analog delays. The DFAM provides a kick drum pattern to anchor the elements of the song together, while the Mother-32 plays a deep ostinato bass melody. The Matriarch generates the upper register arpeggio in round robin mode, allowing the mixer section to be used creatively to introduce and remove notes in the arpeggiated melody. Finally, the Matriarch is also being utilized to sum the Grandmother’s audio in the VCA section, while the Matriarch’s analog delays are being used separately to provide unique delay effects to the Grandmother and Matriarch separately.

For more patch ideas and creative inspiration, plus access to the latest firmware updates and other new features, register your Moog synthesizer at https://www.moogmusic.com/register."
