SONIC DOOM. Modular synth improvisation #modularsynth #synthesizer #eurorack

video upload by TLG Electro

"2 oscillator jam, one analogue, one digital wavetable. @WaldorfMusicChannel @Cre8audio #doepfer #electronica #eurorack #modularsynth #modular #eurocrack #synthesizer #synths #dreadbox #alesis #synthjam @Dreadbox-synths"

Primarily featuring the Waldorf NW1 wavetable & Dreadbox Eudemonia filter modules.

And one with the Korg Volca FM through an Alesis Nanoverb:

I put my Korg Volca FM through an Alesis Nanoverb. #korgvolcaFM #eurorack #alesis

"I picked up a Nanoverb off Ebay for 45 quid.
The hall settings have amazing long reverbs.

Imagine how incredible the Volca FM would have been if it came with reverb built in. An amazing ambient machine.

I have a rack mount Alesis Microverb 4 in my Eurorack Modular synth that produces a lot of great effects."

Great Conjunction FM Fragment Synth Prototype

video upload by Arman Bohn

Great Conjunction FM synth prototype - it’s working! #synthwave #chillwave

"This is one of my favorite pieces I’ve made for a long time. I had it running for around 40 hours this week. The Norns is running my 'pixels' script, which is generating some sine wave blips. It is also sending mini note data to the Prismatic Spray which Casts a haunting melody over the top. Everything is running through the lemondrop, which chops and slices and dices."

Skull And Circuits VCF-4 Switched Capacitor Filter & Metal-o-tron Metallic Percussion Modules

video uploads by Skull And Circuits

via Skull And Circuits

As if there are not enough filters in the Eurorack world. Yet, here it is, something new. A dual switched capacitor filter, equipped for CV on all the things. A dual filter core no less for stereo use or for all kind of serial filter configuration shenanigans.

VCF-4 is a unique filter in Eurorack land. It’s a switched capacitor design with a lot of bells and whistles, offering a unique sound and flexible sound-scaling capabilities.

2 x 12db switched capacitor filter core
Sweepable LP/BP/HP Mode
+BP/-BP adjustment
Self-oscillating filter
Filter linking ( 1:1, octave down, 2 octaves down )
Serial or Parallel setup possible
Resonance CV control per filter
Filter mode CV control per filter
2x Cutoff frequency CV control per filter
Big fat knobs ( 20HP )

It’s one of the modules I use a lot, so I thought it was about time to get rid of the prototypes I have in my rack and build one that looks more like the real deal. I’ve taken all good things from the first 2 versions, ditched all the bad stuff and add some new stuff. That’s a lot of stuff.

In short, It’s a percussion sound generator, with a focus on metallic sounding percussion. Cymbals, hihats, tin cans, gongs, cowbells, … you name it, it’ll do it. It doesn’t really stop there, it’s able to create quite some unique sounding percussion elements, as well as some interesting drone textures. So it’s quite a versatile thing to have in your rack.

So, how does it work. The basic sound properties are generated by 4 square oscillators going through a logic XOR gate, combined with a noise generator and external inputs. The whole lot goes through a filter to shape the frequency properties and then through a voltage controlled amplifier – still following? I’ve drawn up a little schema to clarify the whole lot a bit.

See Skull And Circuits for additional details.

Facehugger Internal Ramp Curve function

video upload by flightofharmony

"Demonstration of the Curve function.
Curve controls the slope of the internal drive Ramp signal, from a linear ramp to either an exponential or logarithmic curve, which changes the spacing between stages.
Facehugger project is live on Kickstarter until Saturday, April 22, 2023!"

Emu UAF clone demo

video upload by zack dagoba

"This is a demo of a desktop module based on the legendary Emu Universal Active Filter. The module here is not an exact replica, it uses more modern circuitry and has a few things that are different to the way the original was set up, although the panel is the same as the original, so this makes it very confusing! For example, the HP / BP / LP outputs have their own attenuators, absent on the original, and also it has some changes to the CV inputs, the way the Notch Frequency knob works, as well as the Course and Fine knobs. Anyway, it's a fine sounding unit, and its been quite fun working out what everything does"

Doobie Rhythmini FR-112 preset rhythm drum machine

video upload by Harry Axten

Note this is the first post to feature Doobie and the Rhythmini. If you know more about either, feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of this post.

"Thought I'd record a brief demo of what this somewhat rare machine sounds like prior to selling it - not that it's anything particularly special. It's based around the Sanyo LM8972, so will have the same patterns as every other rhythm machine that uses this IC.

Not much known about the company other than it was made in Japan, presumably in the late 1970s. Possibly related to the Newport Rhythm Sound, which looks visually similar."

WaveFront Audio Sixteen Channel Spectral Vocoder & Channel Manager (Moog/Bode clone)

via this auction

You can find demos in previous posts here.

"This is a new design built around the original vintage Moog/Bode machine. This is a new demo unit we have - which was the first one ever built. It works beautifully and sounds amazing. BOTH units are included in the price. It has been fully tested and sounds awesome. It does have some slight cosmetic wear from being shown at a couple of trade shows. As far as we can tell, this is the ONLY one in the United States currently.

This system sounds better and does way more than the new Moog reissues."

Wællenbad - Java Moment (With Pure Data and Model:Cycles)

video upload by dænkrø_ ElectriXity_

"This is another approach to imitating the sounds of Indonesian Gamelan music with Pure Data and the Elektron Model:Cycles. Actually I have already been about to sell the The Elektron Model:Cycles because I felt that its sounds tend to have a too small sonic range until I realized that it is not at all a drum machine as the manufacturer claims but a 6 voice polyphonic synth. Since then we are getting along quite well ;-)"

Custom Osmose by Love Hultén

video upload by Love Hultén

"I'm in love with the Osmose! They really nailed the haptic keybed. And the synth engine is far better than I expected as well. This personal setup of mine combines the Osmose with a stereo looper, some pico drum modules and a tape echo. All covered in oak and silver. I'm off to the soundscape cave!

All sounds in this video are from the Osmose (Haken)"

Korg Minilogue - Analog Beast [SOUNDSET] • Custom Presets

video upload by Mr. Card

"My private collection of favorite bass sounds dedicated to the Korg Minilogue. I've always loved analog sounds and fat bass sequences. The Korg Minilogue is a true Analog Beast. I love this synth for its functionality and fat sound. Using it, I've created custom bass sequences that bring out the best of the instrument. The soundset is complemented by a bank of presets for the free Valhalla Supermassive processor, which, combined with the Minilogue, creates an amazing, massive space. Take your instrument to the next level with this soundset. Check out my soundset:"
