Immersive Ambient Generator
Ambient Ø (zero) is incredibly easy to use. Start by playing a tone from one layer using the note hold function. While listening closely, simply tweak the knobs to modify the tone and add other layers to shape a pleasing sound.

Blendwave Modulation Synthesis
We conducted extensive research into creating undulating and fluctuating tones for Ambient Ø, resulting in the development of a new wavetable-based synthesis.
Blendwave Modulation Synthesis combines 6 unique structures with 32 WAVEs featuring complex harmonic transitions, making it easy to create powerful low drones, lush pads, and transparent pizzicatos, perfect for ambient music.

4 knobs / 8 parameters offer a wide range of tone creation.

A WAVE contains 128 harmonic tables, allowing for diverse tonal changes such as moving from basic waveforms to complex harmonics. The WAVE is
represented by a yin-yang icon, with the yin representing moves in the reverse direction through the tables during modulation.

6 Structures
Each structure has a different number of oscillators and modulation circuits. ATMOS 1 applies ring modulation, while ATMOS 2 applies FM modulation.

Noise and Space
The Noise layer includes 8 specially selected nature sounds, offering noise blending, pitch adjustment and modulation to infuse unique spatial characteristics.
Additionally, it allows for up to 8 seconds of stereo sampling from the line input, letting you create personalized textures.

Extensive Effects Section
Ambient Ø is equipped with 9 types of lush reverb, each offering unique spatial dimensions and brightness settings. You can individually adjust the reverb send and shimmer send (for layering octaves) for each layer.

In addition to the reverb, the Ambient Ø offers
an effect unit with Tape Delay, Reverse Delay, and 4 master effects; Overdrive, Bit/Rate Crush, Tilt EQ, and Stereo Chorus.

Sequencer on Each Layer
You can not only layer the four tones, but each layer also includes a sequencer that allows you to record keyboard performances.
Furthermore, you can record changes in numerous parameters, including level, pan, and filter movement over time.

"I'm revisiting one of my favourite movie themes of all time composed by Harold Faltermeyer with a full length cover of The Theme from Beverly Hills Cop - 'Axel F'.

In the original, Harold used a Jupiter 8, JX-3P, Moog Model 15 and DX7 paired with a Linndrum.

I have stayed close to the original but have incorporated some other of my favourite synthesizers to give it my own flare.

Red Ekkko. The Ugliest Vintage Echo Modeller is the Most Beautiful

01. The Ugliest Most Beautiful Free Stereo Delay Modeller Ever.

Red Ekkko is an echo emulator laboratory that models a variety of historic echo types. Wire, tape, BBD and even early grainy digital delays. It is pure stereo with a huge warm enveloping sound that closely captures the perceptual characteristics of each type, rather than a precise mathematical model. You can dial in every defect, degradation and add buckets of warmth and charm but with a deep stereo field. The system is operated using standard cheap MIDI controllers.

Not only is it a studio audio processor but it can also be played like an instrument so that those endless classic BBD feedback tails can be tuned to a MIDI keyboard.

The best part. It will be free.

This demo shows how it can use Karplus strong delay times with random cross delayed feedback to emulator chaotic resonators. In essence a stereo flanger with chaotic behaviour. Inspired by the SOST Studio flanger made by Van Daal Electronics cs

Second of the test demos of Red Ekkko. I'm using a very short delay and pushing the pregain of the saturation. The cross feedback gives it lots of space and syrupee crunch.

03. The Ugliest Most Beautiful Delay Modeller Ever. Warm and Singing Delay

Third of the demos of Red Ekkko. This time, sweet, spacious echoes and playing the echo time with a MIDI keyboard.

I seem to have broken a couple of minor things, whilst repairing others, so there is a bit of crackle on the feedback now and again and the µdropout circuit seems to be clicking into the main signal, even when off, so need to fix that next. It's an endless rabbit hole but I think I can see the light.

04. The Ugliest Most Beautiful Delay Modeller Ever. Tape Drop-Out. Bags of Age.

In this demo I show the micro and macro dropout and how they are used to create a sense of age in the sound. It also demonstrates how you can use the µDropout to create subtle Ring Modulation and macro dropout to create vintage harmonic tremolo.

Launched in 1978, it was the world’s first programmable monophonic synthesiser. Designed by Tom Oberheim and his team, this revolutionary instrument brought the power of preset memory to the world of analogue synthesis, allowing musicians to easily store and recall their unique sounds.

Despite its groundbreaking features and historical significance, the OB-1 has remained somewhat under the radar compared to other classic synthesisers like the Minimoog. However, those who have experienced its capabilities know that the OB-1 is a true gem. This instrument delivers a sound as beefy and robust as the legendary Minimoog, yet it can get as aggressive as the MS20. It strikes a perfect balance, sitting sonically between these two icons.

Augmented Poly-Paraphony: DSI Pro-2 paired with 4 analog Eurorack VCOs in paraphonic mode

"The Pro-2 has been around a long time. I recently re-acquired one locally from a friend at a great price. The first time I had it I don't think I ever tried anything like this, but it makes total sense so it was time to give it a shot.

Simply put, I wanted to beef up the Pro 2's sound by supplementing its 4 digital oscillators with 4 meaty analog Eurorack VCOs. There are videos out there of this sort of thing, but only in monophonic mode, which is simple and straightforward to achieve. I wanted to give the Pro-2 two oscillators per note in paraphonic mode, for analog polysynth-esque chords.

The key to doing this is to recreate the Pro-2's per note articulation that it emulates by internally controlling the level of each oscillator's output at the DSP level, with a digital envelope per note that is the same shape as the one used for the actual VCA. The Pro-2 sort of behaves as if it has 4 VCAs, one for each note.

The best way to emulate that in Eurorack is to simply use real VCAs and envelopes for each note. So start with one VCO, run it into a VCA, and then control that VCA with an envelope, making sure that envelope's shape resembles the shape of the amp envelope on the Pro-2. Repeat the process 4 times, one for each VCO that will be paired with a Pro-2 oscillator. I used all analog modules for this. Roland System-500 oscillators, VCAs, and envelopes, Wavefonix CEM 3340 VCOs, Arcus Audio Dual VCAs, and a Doepfer dual envelope module. The output of each VCA is then mixed in a 4-to-1 mixer module, paying special attention to the levels of each oscillator, and then fed into a final VCA used specifically to attenuate the signal before passing it off to the external audio input of the Pro-2. It's of course difficult to match the shape of all 4 envelopes exactly, but there's no need to be too precise. I suppose I could have made things a little easier by using the Disting Ex's quad envelope. Then I could have dialed them all in exactly the same. All good though.

The NiftyKeyz is a paraphonic/polyphonic ready eurorack case/keyboard that has 4 CV/Gate outputs. Each subsequent key held down simply goes out the next CV/Gate output in sequence. So you can play for note chords, provided you have all the modules to do that. It also has MIDI I/O, so here the Pro-2 is being controlled via MIDI, despite it being the "main synth", whereas the Eurorack modules are supplementary. I would have preferred using the Pro-2's keyboard for this, but the NiftyKeyz has a puzzling limitation in the MIDI department. Essentially you cannot play it polyphonically from another keyboard without doing some sort of crazy MIDI channel mapping in between. I get why they do the 1 note per channel thing and it's indeed useful at times, but give us the option to use just one channel and behave as if we were simply playing its own keys. End side rant.

Waveshape is sawtooth for all oscillators. There's a little additional modulation going both to and from the Pro-2 and the rack with delayed LFOs, along with small amounts of "slop", so the digital oscillators aren't completely stiff.

Anyway, there it is, 2 oscillator per voice I mean note poly-paraphony on the Pro-2.

Oh, forgot to mention the Pro-2's headphone output is running into the Happy Nerding FX Aid Pro for that amazing lush reverb that's blended in. Other than that there's no other effects or processing."

"This is a professionally fully restored Oberheim Two Voice. It's in physically excellent condition for its age. The original tolex is in amazing shape with only a couple little tears in the lid. The keys are perfectly pristine white, no fading at all. You can tell this spend the majority of its life with the lid on judging by how nice the key whites are. Every module was professionally restored by Synth Tailor a little over a year ago, the Sequencer was restored by Rosen Sound and Synth Tailor. Restoration documentation will be provided to the new owner. Definitely not the cheapest TVS you can find but if you buy one that is not restored you are looking at 2-4k in labor to get it back to a reliable state and a very long wait time for it to be completed."
