"Beautiful and super rare Crumar Spirit, designed by Bob Moog in the early 80’s, only around 100 pieces produced. This unit works at 117V from factory, if you use it in Europe you should buy a voltage converter (around 50€ for a good one on Amazon) The working condition are very good, I never had a single problem with this synth from when I bought it, obviously you should consider that it’s a 40+ years old instrument and sometimes could need some knobs cleaning and standard maintenance. The aesthetic condition are very good for its age, as usual there are different signs of use here and there, please take a look at the pictures and don’t hesitate to ask for more, I’ve tried to point every cosmetic defect in my photos. After several bad experiences with customs, I will only ship to EU, UK and Switzerland. - NO SECOND CHANCE ON SUNDAY FOR THIS ITEM -"

Sounds is tipically warm with an unique character. I have available a MIDI kit for the mono VCOs that I can supply on request (150 euros, or 300 euros installed). This rare synth has been serviced and currently working in original conditions with included its original lid."

Chris Cross of Ultravox's Sequential Drumtraks drum machine

video upload by sighkid

"Was lucky to buy this Sequential Drumtraks formerly belonging to the late, great Chris Cross of Ultravox at an auction of his personal artefacts last year. I feel very privileged to own it as you can imagine! Was pleased to see that the batteries had held up and it had a few songs still stored in it. I wasn't able to match any of them to specific Ultravox songs, but then again I'm not the best person to be trying to identify a song just from an isolated drum pattern. Anyway here's a sample song that was on it for those curious :)

NB A couple of points to note:

one of the cooler features of the Drumtraks is that the sounds for each instrument are stored as rom chips that can be swapped in / out. And indeed this unit came with some spare chips. But this does mean that the chips fitted currently may not be the ones originally intended to use with a particular stored pattern.

in theory the Drumtrax can store a specific tempo as part of a song, however most of the ones stored now are set to 136bpm. It seems an unlikely coincidence that that was the intended tempo for all of them, so possibly the idea is that they would have been synced to a master clock elsewhere or have the tempo manually set at playback. Either way I'm not convinced that the tempo here is necessarily the intended one."

"Breeze Block is a magnetic granular synthesizer and MIDI CC controller. The surface of the instrument is divided into eight zones that are each independently sensitive to permanent magnetic fields. By interacting with the instrument using a neodymium magnet, you can capture audio which is split into grains and manipulated. Different zones and positions on the instrument have different effects on the pitch, density, and character of the granular texture."

Maximus 4V Polyphonic Synthesizer 4-Part Sequence w/ Onboard Spring Reverb

video upload by Analogue Solutions

"This video showcases a single sequence on the Maximus 4V polyphonic synthesizer, operating as a fully self-contained analogue workstation. Each of the four voices has its own dedicated sequencer, allowing for four independent patterns to run simultaneously.

Voices are introduced one by one through the onboard stereo mixer. The universal cutoff is manually modulated using the far-left controller knob, while the right-side sliders control FX levels per voice.

Toward the end, the main voices are dialed back to highlight the built-in effects and delay in isolation."

-Rebuilt PSU (had leaking Filter capacitors)
-Replaced stuck/broken Power Switch
-Replaced all bad electrolytic capacitors and tantalum’s throughout.
-Replaced a bad RED square LED
-Replaced faulty/old ribbon connector and installed a machined 16 dip socket"

"Original ARP Odyssey MKIII (2821) duophonic synthesiser, with full custom metal flight-case, and Kenton installed MIDI retrofit. Orange-on-black colour scheme. The Mk III features the four-pole '4075' filter, unbalanced XLR output, and PPC buttons. Some of the sliders are a little scratchy, but will use dry film lubricant to clean those up. Amazing cosmetic condition for age - faceplate easily a 9/10, no serious no dinks or chipped keys. That said, the leather sides are scratched in places, as you might expect for her age, but look more prevalent in the pics than with own eyes. Requires C13 female power plug. Collection from NW London near bottom of M1. Free delivery by car within M25. Delivery further afield might be possible by arrangement inc. fuel cost. I will be away until April 20th but everything will be ready to despatch on my return."

David was, among other things, sound engineer for the Swingle Singers for many years. I have had it fully reconditioned by Synth Prof in Long Melford Suffolk. It comes with all the original manuals and charts.

VEMIA note: this gave me such pleasure editing the excellent photos. Of course after more than 50 years there are a few little dings - highlighted faithfully in the photos - but the overall look is really like it was made yesterday. **Now with added photo of the fantastic original literature that came with this machine in 1972. - see under the thumbnail of pic 3.**" [2nd pic in this post]

"You're looking at an original vintage Black and Gold-finished Mk I ARP AXXE. In nice working condition overall, only expect some crackling here and there. Look the unique cosmetics, since the panel's original paint has vanished, the modules and signal flow diagram have been distinctively hand-painted on gold by underground comic artist Angel Alvarez. A white overlay is also provided for more of a classic look (see last picture). It has electronics similar to the Odyssey, but the AXXE owns its unique timbral character and, while you can get the famous analog ARP tone, it could produce different sonic results including both powerful basses while being capable of real punchy and vibrating sizzly lines, still at a fraction of the cost of its sibiling [sic] and also keeps a couple of neat tricks under its sleeve, as you can appreciate watching this video [posted here]. A great bonus are the connections on the back allowing an external synth or signal to be processed, a control pedal input for the filter plus CV, Gate and Trigger inputs and outputs. [ Note: Buyer consents to provide any information needed if buying outside the EU trade bloc ]. Will be packed thoughtfully."

P. Lion Happy Children ~ Italo Disco Synthesizer Recreation

video upload by RetroSound

"(c)2007-25 by RetroSound

❤️ Support #RetroSound channel: https://retrosound.creator-spring.com

One of my favorite tracks from the 80s.
Happy Children by P. Lion from the album Springtime (1984)
written by P.Lion, produced by David Zambelli

Featured the Roland JX-3P, the LinnDrum and the Simmons SDS-8

This cover song series contains my own recreations of my favourite songs from the last 50 years. The original music from which I take inspiration belong to their respective owners. I recreate tracks only for personal passion and to pay homage to these tracks.

My intention is not to create covers that sound exactly like the original (if you want to hear identical sounds, please listen the original). It's more of an inspiration with my sounds from the old synthesizers from the past and of course the great appreciation for the original performers and producers."

Behringer Edge + Spice Combo Patches & Samples. Sound Demo

video upload by Anton Anru

"Welcome to the soundset for a semi-modular system, Behringer EDGE + SPICE. It is a collection of 50 patches that include basses, drums/percussion, leads, plucks, stabs/chords, generative-style patterns.
There is a wide range of sound colors in the pack: massive and gentle, aggressive and soft, bright and dull, harmonic and dissonant tones, straight and polymetric rhythms.

📦 Get these patches: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/behr...

🎛 The main point of the soundset is the high level of interconnection—not just syncing the two synths with independent timbres (individual patches for EDGE and SPICE are also available on my website).
In this patchbook, the timbres of the synths are fused and can’t exist separately:
✔️ They modulate each other with envelopes.
✔️ A sequence from one synth may change parameters on the other.
✔️ Triggers, clock/rhythm, run/stop modulations break predictable patterns.
✔️ Audio signals from VCOs may be used as modulation sources to create harmonies/intervals or crazy experimental inharmonic tones.

🧿 At the same time, they play different and clear roles. It’s not a sound mess, but two synths working in close cooperation.
For syncing the synths, I chose SPICE as the master. I send clock to it from the DAW via USB. Then, I sync EDGE to SPICE using patch cables.
On the EDGE, the PLAY button is pressed in advance, but EDGE doesn't start playing until PLAY is triggered on the SPICE. This way, launching SPICE starts both synths in sync. If SPICE is synced to the DAW via USB/MIDI, hitting PLAY in the DAW will start both synths in sync with the DAW.

700 System + Auratie: Now a Soundscape Generator

video upload by Gm Xe

"This is a fascinating setup: using Landscape and Evicshen as a resonator for the guitar, feeding the signal into Auratie via the 208, and modulating it with Auratie’s new self-feedback feature. The 700 sends out a low-frequency sound field, which is then AB-morphed using the 208’s LFO.

Put on your headphones and enjoy — hope you like it!"

🪚 Roland JP-8000 🪚 🎧 (no talking) 🎧

video upload by Cutoff Frequency - gear stuff (no talking)

"This is a video demonstrating the sounds of the Roland JP-8000.

The JP-8000 caught my attention when I started digging into the whole super saw concept. As a relative newcomer to the dutch hardcore scene I was blown away by this fat, yet aggressive sound. The JP-8000 was the first to incorporate it and, although subtle, it's directness is unrivaled. And it is capable of so much more. I feel the sounds are dated, but still relevant. A bit contradictory, I know. I recently recapped the unit, but unfortunately, directly after this demo, the right channel went very dim. I guess I need to open it up again. Build quality is lacking a bit, but with a little tlc this unit is one of my favorites.

Thanks my love for playing so beautifully."

OXI ONE + Fender CHROMA POLARIS quick afternoon improv

video upload by CGMAGIK

"Playing around with my Chroma Polaris and OXI ONE sequencer today. Using 2 channels on the Polaris - although, amazingly for a 1984 synthesizer, this synth is 6 part multitimbral. You can run 6 different sounds on different MIDI channels and automate all the parameters on each channel. I think most other synths of that era pretty much only did note-on/note-off!"
