CON·VER·GENCE [ MU Modular session w/ Acidlab Bassline3 + Drumatix ]
alternatingbitmusic
"Most of the sound from the modular system is coming from the Freestate FX adapted BRAIDS (Macro Digital Oscillator) and the Synthetic Sound Labs adapted PLAITS module they call Woven Spirits. Really cool stuff, with the Mankato filter modulated by a sample & hold."

Oblivion - Exploring Moog One with 5U Modular Synthesizer
Ariyo Shahry
"Moog One is an impressive synthesizer. I could have easily done this entire track on the Moog One (except drums). This synthesizer is so powerful and is capable of so much yet it can so easily sit within the mix. In this case it basically made the track. I went from an idea to a wall of warm analog goodness with just a simple patch on the Moog One.
The base of my modular system system is a Synthesizers.com System 66. Over time I've added other modules to my system.
Multitrack recording and drums are programed using Logic Pro X
The video is shot on Fujifilm XT3 camera body with a Fujifilm XF 56mm F/1.2 and Fujifilm XF 16mm F1.4 Lenses.
In this video the following modules are featured:
- Moon Modular M 569 Quad Sequential Voltage Source
- Moon Modular M 543 Stereo Output Mixer
- Moon Modular M 568 Quad Sequential Trigger Source
- STG Soudlabs Sea Devils Filter
- FSFX 102 Granular Audio Processor (5U / MU format adaptation of the Mutable Instruments Clouds)
- Dove Audio WTF Oscillator
- CorSynth C107 Quad Linear VCA/VC Mixer
- Synthesizers.com Q150 Transistor Ladder Filter
- Synthesizers.com Q106 Oscillator (VCO)
- Synthesizers.com Q109 Envelope Generator
- Synthesizers.com Q110 Noise Source"

FSFX Custom Shop Fixed Filter Bank - 5U/MU Format
Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction
"The FSFX Custom Shop Fixed Filter Bank is a modern twist on the Classic Moog 914 Filter Bank. A total of 14 filters are used to create an effect like a graphic equalizer, but with bandpass filters that offer steeper slopes and a tasteful bit of resonance. Active filters are used for excellent signal to noise ratio, and increased output volume.
The Fixed Filter Bank can be used like the fader section of a mixer to blend together different frequency ranges of complex sounds. It can also be used to dial in resonant peaks typically found in nature and acoustic instruments. A wide stereo image can be created by utilizing the Odd and Even Outputs. The Fixed Filter Bank serves a unique and useful purpose for the creative synthesist.
Each module is fully hand assembled in Lawrence, KS.
Features:
Lowpass Filter with -24dB/oct Slope
12 Fixed Bandpass Filters with -12dB/octave Slopes
Highpass Filter with -24dB/octave Slope
Attenuator for Each Filter
Low and High Inputs

Days of Light
Published on Apr 14, 2019 davidryle
"Modular synth piece. Large format 5U and Eurorack.
Starting off with the Q-Bit Chord generated round. Mutable Instruments Marbles sending it a pitch c/v. The Root run direct to the mix and the htree intervals sent through a Synthetic Sound Labs Seqwencer IV sequential vca. The next few sounds fading in and out are the MI Rings and Piston Honda. Both controlled from Marbles.
Finally the main melodic content is pitch directed by Instruo Harmonaig to the 5U. The Harmonaig is pitch controlled from a Q60 step sequencer from Synthesizers.com and a pair of STG Soundlabs Voltage Mini Stores for transposing and voicing.
The pitch data from the Harmonaig sends a root pitch to a Q106 vco and FSFX built MI Braids. The Q106 is fed through a modular build of the Behringer DD400 digital delay and the Braids is timbre modulated by an Oakley VCADSR.
The three other interval c/v's are sent to three more Q106's. The third interval is split into two rhythm patterns gated by a Moon Modular M563 trigger sequencer, STG Soundlabs Trigger Min Store and various LFO's from Mega Ohm Audio. The filter is an Oakley SVF (band pass). The second tap is into a Modcan 73B delay and direct to mix.
The fifth interval is through a Q107 resonant state variable in band pass with 1v/oct tracking for a sine wave output and send through a Strymon Blue Sky pedal. Slew is from the Harmonaig.
The seventh interval is routed through a Q150 transistor ladder low pass filter.
Other delays and reverbs are from a pair of Lexicon MX200's and a T.C. Electronic D-Two delay. Recorded direct to Cubase in one pass. Video from my iPhone and edited in Final Cut Pro.
Thank you for listening!"

Mammoth 5MU System With Many Extras - Smegmar The Medicant & Sysyphus
Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction
List of modules at the listing and captured below.
"Large-format modular system offers: 40 modules of various brands and 150 Synthesizer.com modules. In addition, there are various power-related modules, mounted in the front and the rear.
The system is 275 MU’s front face panels spaces plus 32-more in the rear. Featuring: 27 full-range multi-waveform oscillators, 12-filters, 3 discrete MIDI interfaces, and 4 sequencers. ( not including the Matrixbrute features)
It has taken over a year to purchase and assemble all of the modules: this system is completely ready to use. Most of this system is housed in solid walnut cabinetry.
There are a few modules I bought in used condition, but the rest are new purchases. The cabinetry, controllers, and cabling are all new. After assembly, this system has not been moved, exposed to smoke, or touched by anyone but me.
The entire system is in excellent condition, with a couple of VERY minor scuffs where modules have been periodically installed and/or relocated...
History: I first purchased a Moog System-55 re-issue modular. I discovered Synthesizers.com when doing a simple google search. I learned their clone of the Moog Dual Sequencer Compliment wing was not only superior to that of the Moog’s, it was nearly 1/3 the price. So from there, I bought a System 66 and A/Bd both the tonal and functionality aspects of each to discover the Synthesizers.com sounded better to my ears, had more functions, and was more stable. I sold the Moog, and steadily expanded the system it is today.
I am 100% satisfied with this system.
It would take upwards of 6 months to get all of these modules (and a couple of these you may not able to get at all) and a significant amount of time to install and wire the modules, and assemble the large manual binder.
It also took 2 full days to convert 16 of the modules into their revised versions, yet I have not added the price of the conversion kits to the list below."

A Visit to Noisebug - Synth Store | Interview
Published on Jan 4, 2019 Under the Big Tree
"I had a day left for my Christmas vacation before having to go back to work, and decided to spend it visiting a store that I had wanted to see for a long time: Noisebug in Pomona, California. Blake, the general manager and I chatted for a long time about all manner of esoteric synths and recording equipment, and then he was kind enough to give us a tour of the space. The results are a deep dive into a retail store that specializes in the finest quality synthesizers, whether Eurorack, 5U, Buchla, desktop, or keyboard. This is a must-see interview for the devotees of truly esoteric electronic music devices.
www.noisebug.net
Under the Big Tree is Nick Peck's YouTube channel, focused on music and sound design equipment and techniques, composition, production and performance of music, modular synthesizers and electronic music in general, and tabletop board games.

Some notes from watching the video: Elby Designs Pixie (EDP WASP synth - note Tinkerbell in place of a wasp) on the obscure front. BTW, Serge paperface refers to the original Serge panels from the 70s that had printed paper on the front panels. Radiohead used Analogue Systems. The power buss differs from Doepfer based eurorack. Ran out of label space with Moon Modular! 10 Year anniversary system featured. The Kilpatrick Audio K4815 Pattern Generator in Buchla format exclusive to Noisebug is featured.

via Free State FX
"Free State FX is proud to announce our new module the Digital Delay Line. The module starts it's life as an Eventide euroDDL, then your friends at Free State FX convert it to our beloved 5u format.
The euroDDL is currently backordered from Eventide, but we expect to get our first batch of modules by the end of February. It will take us 1-2 weeks to perform the conversions after the euroDDL's arrive. We expect to have the 114's ready to ship by early March."

EQD (short version)
Published on Sep 5, 2017 Richard Galbraith
"This is the second half of a video I posted a while back but then took down. I always liked the second part much more than the first part, so I decided to cut out the first 5+ minutes. Sorry for the abrupt beginning, but oh well. Here's the original description:
This was recorded in two overdubbed takes. The first take is a bed of deep synth tones, provided by my MU modular, with added Arturia Microbrute and Mutable Instruments Rings in Easter Egg mode.
The second take is a Sela cajon which I mic'd with two mics: one for cajon audio and the other plugged into the Synthesizers.com instrument interface in order to trigger Rings. Thus, in this take you can hear the strumming sound of Rings with every cajon hit.
Key modules include Synthesizers.com's oscillators, Q150 low pass filter, and quantizer bank; Megaohm Audio Delta low pass filter; SSL/Fritz Doubledeka oscillator; FSFX/Fritz Teezer oscillator, and the MOTM 480 band pass filter.
Reverb and effects by Valhalla DSP."

Fixed Filter Bank module for analog modular synth
Published on Aug 14, 2016 Scott Loiselle
"This is a brief vid I did for the students in my CT335 EMT class, introducing a new module we will have for FA16. The design is by an outstandingly talented fellow named Yves Usson, and the build/construction is by another fellow named Jason Fry who has a company called Free State FX, and he will build this or any other of a number of things for you. I'd never bought anything from Jason but this experience was such that I will now buy from him anytime. The build quality (fit, finish, attention to detail) is superb, and the module is so nice that I now want one for my own system."
