Abstract - Jazzy IDM - Sequenced Live Looping, Linnstrument, Expressive Touche, Rhodes, Prophet 10
Analog Industries
"I've been working on a live performance rig for a hot minute now, and I think I've finally settled on this combo, or something in this neighborhood. (I may replace the Rhodes with a Novation Summit or other live performance synth, as the Rhodes is borderline road-worthy.)
Anyhow, this video is a proof-of-concept of the rig. Multiple sequenced live loopers in Bitwig Studio (Audio Damage Enso, in this case looping the bassline and the main Rhodes chords), controlled from a Nektar Panorama P1. Linnstrument and Expressive-E Touche providing controller duties. The synth line you hear me playing is the Prophet 10 Rev 4; I'm converting the CC from the Touche in to controller CC for the Prophet on the fly using Bitwig's excellent Modulators.

Glitch Synth Music // Gotharman SpazeDrum, Little deFormer 3 & deMoon #TTNM
THE TUESDAY NIGHT MACHINES
"Finally, here‘s a little jam session with all my Gotharman synthesizers together! More info below :)
♥ SUPPORT: http://bit.ly/ttnm-support ♥
I acquired an old, second-hand, DIY deMoon synth a few weeks ago, which was one of Gotharman‘s first commercial devices over ten years ago. Back then, I didn‘t understand nor appreciate its existence, but this has changed of course ;-) With that instrument rounding off my SpazeDrum + Little deFormer 3 setup, I decided to patch everything together and do something. So in this video, the SpazeDrum and deMoon each send their stereo audio into the LD3. There, the audio is combined with internal LD3 synth sounds and processed by its granular synthesis FX. The Linnstrument MIDI keyboard plays the deMoon and the SpazeDrum and deFormer both use their internal multi-track sequencers. I mapped the eight EDIT knobs on the deFormer 3 to various parameters and of course play with both the SpazeDrum‘s and LD3‘s morph knobs.

FLAME MÄANDER 2.0 - MIDI Tutorial #TTNM
THE TUESDAY NIGHT MACHINES
"Here's a tutorial video on how to set up and use the Mäander's MIDI features.
♥ SUPPORT: http://bit.ly/ttnm-support ♥
The Mäander provides both MIDI input and output on separate MIDI channels for the polyphonic synth and the percussion parts (input, noise and filter band envelopes). You can also define what MIDI data is received and sent. The two MIDI input sockets at the back of the device let you attach two different controllers or sequencers, to separately play the synth, the filter bank and to send program change commands. It's very easy to set up und flexible :-) "

BeatPPL Podcast 69 - Interview w/ Roger Linn
Published on May 9, 2020 BBoy Tech Report
"Roger Linn joins the conversation in this exclusive interview on Beatppl Podcast episode 69.
More on Roger Linn...
In 1988, he designed the innovative MPC60 MIDI Production Center for the Japanese Akai Company, with his signature appearing on the product’s front panel. Combining a sampling drum machine with a real-time MIDI sequencer, this product gradually became the industry standard in the production of hip-hop, dance and related music styles throughout the 1990s, and has been credited as a significant influence in the evolution of hip hop music. This was followed in 1994 with the enhanced MPC3000 and others. In addition to these designs for Akai, he also helped design products for a variety of companies during the 1990s, including the Japanese Roland company.

"We have no shortage of 'Red Dead Redemption' sets here in State 48, and I lugged my gear out to one of them to record a live performance of two recent tracks.
The first track is a derivation of 'root_position,' which is the bonus Bandcamp-only track on my recent single Exo, and the second track is an iteration of 'A Distant Shot,' off of last week's single 'Buffer Circuit.' You can find both in my Bandcamp account: http://chrisrandall.bandcamp.com

The Future of Synthesis - Physical Modeling and Expressive Musical Instruments | NAMM 2020
Published on Feb 7, 2020 Under the Big Tree
"This panel on physical modeling at NAMM was a fascinating talk, with luminaries from the industry: Jordan Rudess, Roger Linn, and Dr. Julius Schwartz from CCRMA, among others.
Each of the five panelists delivers a presentation on their approach to physical modeling, expressive musical instruments, or the intersection of the two. Hilarious hijinks ensue.

Kurzweil V.A.S.T. Physical Modelling?
Published on Nov 29, 2019 cube48
"Hey, I'm crude boy and so is my physical modelling 'proof of concept' V.A.S.T. Program and lame A maj scale impro.
Layer generates bandpassed and shaped noise, modulated by MonoPressure, ModWheel and FUN. Pitch is achieved in FX section by series of '374 PitcherB' algorithms tuned with modulated Pitch by GKeyNum and PtchOffs by PWheel. At the end of FX chain body resonance is faked with adjusted '384 Woodenize' algorithm. It's crude string synthesis with a lot of noise artefacts, limited articulation (there's still plenty of room for improvement) but it's funny how V.A.S.T. can be bent.
PC3 Program can be downloaded here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/qqxxdzd25ix...
P.S.: Yes, there is no keybed on my PC3. It was simply interferring with Linnstrument too much so it's meticulously uninstalled, packed and safely stored :-)"
