"Thorus XT - Extended Chorus Designer
https://www.uvi.net/thorus-xt

Discover Thorus XT, a state-of-the-art chorus effect offering the best of both digital and analog circuit-modeled techniques with up to 8 variable, fully continuous voices, and deeply shapable extended analog controls.

Also included in SonicPass ➡️ https://www.uvi.net/sonicpass"

A deep, flexible, state-of-the-art digital chorus, Thorus has long been one of UVI's best-selling effects. Thorus XT offers a brand new take, driven by advanced DSP and joined by a second engine that faithfully models the analog bucket-brigade circuits that chorus was born on. Two worlds, one plugin, from brilliant shimmer to grainy vintage modulation, and everywhere in-between.

Your Sound, Your Way

Both digital and analog engines run on the same morphable 8-voice architecture and the same set of controls. Set your modulation once, switch engines, and hear the identical movement through two very different paths, keep whichever one best suits the material.

Two Engines, Unified Control

Cutting-edge DSP drives a variable chorus architecture with continuous and morphable voice control; sweeping voices results in the last voice fading in and out smoothly, with no stepping. Speed and Depth shape the modulation, Shape sets its waveform as sine or triangle, Edge dials feedback and color, and Stereo Mode places the image. Fewer voices give pronounced, identifiable modulation; more voices blur the line into a thick, immersive wash.

Digital - Clean, Precise, Transparent

The digital engine is the Thorus chorus you know and love, refined. Clean, precise, prized for its clarity, now with a continuously variable voice count. Every voice reads a single shared delay line at interpolated positions, for a crystalline, detailed sound. When clean isn't the objective, Quality becomes a band-limited sample-rate reducer delivering a downsampled, lo-fi edge that stays musical where it counts.

Analog - Warm, Colored, Alive

The analog engine is a faithful bucket-brigade chip emulation, found in classic hardware units like the Dimension D, and Juno-6. Where the digital engine is clean by design, Thorus XT’s analog engine gives you the natural imperfections of hardware: aliasing, resonance, pumping compression, hiss, per-voice variation—all fully shapable through an extended control set.

Curves & Membranes 1.4.0 | Expressive MPE & Paraphonic Synth Sounds

video upload by Unusable Engineering

"Curves & Membranes 1.4.0 adds new MPE performance, 4-voice paraphonic synthesis, and velocity-controlled waveform morphing. This no-talking sound demo goes through 10 new presets using those features, from expressive pads and keyboard sounds to rhythmic and more experimental synth patches.

There are 20 new presets in the update in total. The ten in this video are played first dry and then with some Geometry Reverb added.

The three main new performance features are:

Expression / MPE Mode
MPE pressure controls the amplitude envelope and oscillator brightness, CC74 / Slide moves through the Oscillator Preset slots, and pitch bend is expanded to 48 semitones. Preset Slew controls how smoothly CC74 interpolates between waveform geometries.

Additive Synth Sound Design | 10 New Partials & Discrepancies Presets for the coming update

video upload by Unusable Engineering

"Ten new additive synth presets from the upcoming Partials & Discrepancies 1.3.2 update.

No talking in this one, just sound examples. The patches focus mainly on two new features: X-Voice FM and Velocity Position, with sounds ranging from restrained and cinematic pads to noisier textures, keyboard sounds, and a more percussive patch.

X-Voice FM lets each synth voice FM-modulate the next voice in a circular chain. It can use either the previous voice’s filtered signal or oscillator output as the modulation source, and the FM amount is stored independently in every oscillator slot.

That means the amount of FM can move and slew together with the rest of the patch.

Velocity Position lets note velocity select the position, or an interpolated position, between the active oscillator slots.

So playing dynamics can change much more than volume. Depending on the patch, velocity can move between different partial structures, harmonic relationships, X-Voice FM amounts, or combinations of all three.

The result can be quite expressive with surprisingly little movement from the player.

The update also adds Live View, which follows an active voice in the waveform editor and shows its slewed node geometry, partial settings, and slot position in real time.

There are also new waveform-editing shortcuts, multi-step undo/redo, slot copy/paste keyboard shortcuts, and a fairly substantial round of interface-performance and stability work. (But more on that on the website when the release is here)

Partials & Discrepancies 1.3.2 is expected to be available on September 1, 2026."

Coming Soon : NerDie - inspired by SOMA RoAT (sound only, no words)

video upload by Diego Capoccitti

Follow-up to OktaDie and .

"No tutorial. No voiceover. No slides.

Just NerDie, a synth inspired by SOMA RoAT (Rumble of Ancient Times), played live, and the sound that comes out of it.

NerDie is an 8-bit noise synthesizer and sequencer — AAX, VST3, AU, AUv3 (iOS) and Standalone. The engine runs on integer uint8_t arithmetic at a fixed chip rate: overflow, wrap and quantization aren't simulated after the fact — they are the signal.

What you're hearing:

· 4 8-bit oscillators, 16 waveforms each, 19–1350 Hz
· 4 LFOs modulating pitch or level
· 3 mix topologies × 3 nodes × 8 algorithms = 1,536 ways to sum them
(addition, overflow, subtraction, ring mod, XOR, FM, waveshaping)
· Resonant 8-bit lowpass filter
· One-bar sequencer with overdub, master/slave clock
· CHAOS for instant chaos, drift for the slow kind, RND for a full patch
rendered and measured before it arrives — so it always plays
· 32 registers across 8 pages
· MPE: four oscillators, four voices — press, slide, strike and bend routed
through a matrix that decides what they move
· Pixel interface, two views: the panel, with hardware-style pot pickup,
and the matrix, with all 32 registers in sight for DAW work

Recorded in one take, no post-processing on the audio.

Headphones recommended.

Coming soon!

Formats: AAX · VST3 · AU · AUv3 · Standalone (macOS, Windows, iPad, iPhone)

Bliss 3.20 What's New

video upload by discoDSP

"Bliss 3.20 is out for macOS, Windows, Linux and iPadOS. The crusher gains five vintage sampler DAC models (SP-1200, MPC60, Emulator II, LinnDrum and Mirage) that alias with the pitch like the real hardware. Sampling gets round robins, silence trimming with a recording threshold, and program range capture that renders a whole bank of plugin programs in one pass. Zones can now be grouped and linked so one edit updates the whole set, with per-zone CC ranges and CC choke for realistic hi-hat control."

"Sound is Colour

Warm. Cold. Dark. Brilliant. Silky. Lush. Juicy. Fat...

Notice something? We use the exact same vocabulary for colours and textures than we use for sounds.

The word 'Klangfarbe' isn't a metaphor. It is how our brain actually processes sound: the true nature of sound is colour.

Your Secret Superpower

Your taste is your secret superpower! Stop asking: "Is this correct? Am I doing this right?" Instead, simply pick and combine sound-colours, place them on the "gradient" and ask yourself: 'Does it sound interesting to me?". This naturally leads you to your own, unique signature sound.

And you can feed it anything: the noisy call of a distant crane recorded with your phone, a vocal snippet or the sound of plugging in your guitar. As one musician said: "I am still trying to find a sample that does not end up as an interesting sound."

Made for Creatives If sound is colour - why are most synths complex, techy, full of numbers, algorithms, and operators?

Abyss II is built on a simple yet radical premise: a synth designed around how we actually experience sound. It keeps you in the flow rather than forcing you into abstract formulas. Just play with colours, as you would mess with paint."

GForce Prophet-5 - Bi-Timbral Sound Bank

video upload by Polydata

"Diving deeper into the sonic possibilities of the GForce / Sequential Prophet-5, the Bi-Timbral Sound Bank features sounds that all utilize the patch stacking ability of this plug-in. First seen in the early 80's on the original Sequential Circuits Prophet-10, the ability to stack two patches together opens up a vast world of tones and textures which were previously not possible.

A bank comprising 30 patches, all of which are "stacked", consisting of two separate sounds.

Unusable Engineering Experiments | New Synth Modes + 2 Unreleased FX

video upload by Unusable Engineering

"A little preview of some things I am currently working on. Everything here is still experimental, so controls, behavior and probably a few ideas may change before release.

The bass drone chord comes from Partials & Discrepancies using an upcoming cross-voice FM mode, where the output of each voice FM-modulates the oscillator of the next voice.

It is also using a new Live View mode that shows the actual partial settings of one active voice as it moves through the slots. When that voice fades out, the display moves on to another active voice.

The live played part is Curves & Membranes played from a ROLI Seaboard Rise 2, using an experimental MPE Expression Mode together with a coming 4-voice paraphonic mode.

The rhythmic melody comes from two unreleased effects:

Residual Breakdown is a transistor fuzz emulation that can move into self-oscillation as the input disappears. The oscillation can be quantized and via the controls, slot-sequenced, which is generating the basic melody here.

Quadrant Modulator is a ring modulator using the Curves & Membranes oscillator design. One instance is using quantized, slot-sequenced ring modulation to keep the result around the key of the track. Another is running host-synced with its slot sequencer clocked to the DAW, creating the changing rhythmic level-cutting effect.

There are no release dates yet, but the current plan is to get these updates and new plugins out sometime in September 2026.

I was actually supposed to spend this time preparing my VAT filings. Procrastinating that has, unfortunately for the tax authorities, been very productive for the plugins.

More info will be available on:

Tracker TRX-12: Thirteen Minutes of Auto-Remixing Dub Techno!

video upload by Electronisounds Audio

"TRACKER TRX-12: https://www.electronisounds.com/trx-1...
'Dub Continuum' Sound Bank for TRACKER TRX-12: https://www.electronisounds.com/track...

WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH DUB CONTINUUM?
1. Render your own 'Inspiration Starter Kits.' Every time you render a pattern, you get a brand new, RANDOM set of full stems — from scratch. Render a pattern several times, LISTEN to the exported results, and pick your favorite groove. Then start a fresh TRX-12 session and use those stems to build a chilled, dubby techno track that's all your own. Layer in more loops from the Dub Continuum pack, the TRX-12 sequence presets, or your own sample arsenal to flesh out your track.

2. Use the loops on their own. Skip the project entirely and use the loop content just like you'd use ANY loops to write your own tracks.

3. Feed it YOUR sounds. Add your own 8-bar loops (110 BPM, key of F minor) into the Dub Continuum folders — and hear your own content get randomly remixed into the session!

4. Chill out and just listen. Sit back and enjoy self-generating, endlessly evolving, chilled dubby techno. Fair warning: you're likely to get inspired and want to start working with these deliciously chilled samples yourself.

5. Learn the Grid. Use the project as one huge tutorial and learning session — and see firsthand how many different Step FX commands are used in a real-world TRX-12 project.
