BOUCAN as Wavefolder & Waveshaper | Eurorack Demo Test

video upload by SOVAGE ENGINEERING

"A quick one-take video showing BOUCAN, being used as an odd wavefolder / waveshaper instead of its noise generator usual duties.
No editing, no cuts, just raw sound exploration.
If you like this format, let me know in the comments! It’ll motivate me to upgrade my video gear and make a lot more demos like that one with different modules."

5 Things you can do with the Sinc Pravus offset from Noise Engineering

video upload by Noise Engineering

"We're featuring 5 patch ideas using Sinc Pravus, the configurable quad offset in 4HP. If you find this helpful, let us know in the comments!

0:09 CV Layer Cake
1:02 Tame that Chaos
1:42 Polyrhythm Control
2:32 Detuned Drones
3:03 Handy Arp Machine

Sinc Pravus demo video: [posted here]

Sinc Pravus is available here: https://noiseengineering.us/products/...

Sometimes you have the perfect CV signal, but it’s just not in the right range. Enter Sinc Pravus, a Goldilocks of a quad offset. Whether you find your CV ranges are too high or too low, Sinc Pravus is just right.

Each of Sinc Pravus’s four channels are controlled by a dedicated potentiometer with an LED for monitoring signal outputs. The input jacks are normalled from top to bottom so it can offset the same signal by different amounts or simply act as a mult.

Use the back-panel switch to configure Sinc Pravus’s offset range to either ±5 or ±10 volts. With nothing patched to the inputs, the channels can be used as DC-voltage generators, especially useful for controlling multiple CV destinations with a single parameter. Sinc Pravus is a workhorse in 4 HP."

Summon the Darkness - Arp Of Darkness & Seventh Summoner eurorack performanceIMG 5565

video upload by FlatSix Modular

"A one take performance, pairing the Seventh Summoner with the Arp Of Darkness showing how the two used together can turn a small rig into a full featured performance case.

Patch Notes: All clicking duties are handled by Pam’s Pro Workout.

Voice 1 is sequenced by the Seventh Summoner and consists of the vowel patch on Braids through the Ensembles patch on the MFX and then into the retro patch on a Noise Engineering Desmodus Versio with the “MultiVersio” firmware flashed to it. The vowel patch is being modulated by Ebb & LFO patch on the Ornament & Crime running the Phaserville Suite

Voice 2 is a saw wave oscillator from the Disting MK4 processed through a Pittsburgh Modular low pass filter, and being sequenced by Sequence X on an Ornament & Crime module with the Phaserville Suite firmware running.

Voice 3 is being arpeggiated by the Arp Of Darkness, and is made up of a swarm & harm patch on the Neutron Sound Dust of Time running through a ping pong delay on another Disting MK4 by Expert Sleepers.

In-Case Drums are being handled by an Erica Synths Pico Drums module running through A low pass filter on another Disting MK4 and into Data Bender by Qu-Bit for glitching duties.

All outputs run through a Kombucha by WGD for delay send duties and then into a Befaco STMIX for mix down to an Intellijel Headphones output in the 1U row.

Additional drums provided by the K.O. II by Teenage Engineering running my own personal samples."

Erica Synths: Hexinverter Mutant Drums | Full Demo and Review

video upload by Happy Mag

"The Mutant Drum Line lives on! When Hexinverter shut its doors in 2022, the future of those gloriously twisted Mutant modules looked bleak — but Erica Synths swooped in, reverse‑engineered every circuit, and gave the whole lineup a second life with modern muscle.

🥁 Mutant Bassdrum — pure 808 thump or fuzzed‑out speaker‑ripper thanks to batteryACID distortion. CV everything, stay clean or filthy.

🎯 Mutant Snare — twin bridged‑T oscillators + snappy noise + switchable HP/BP filter = crack, glitch, or full‑roar chaos. External audio input turns it into its own percussion synth.

💥 Mutant Rimshot — three oscillators, multimode VCF, and HI/LO/CLV voicing. Flip the range switch for deep FM clangs or classic 909 clicks.

👏 Mutant Clap — LFSR‑driven 909 clap that mutates into bleeps, broken textures, or lush analogue‑reverb tails. Dedicated NOISE out and Drive for extra crunch.

✨ Mutant Hihats — true analogue open/closed hats with per‑voice Drive, choke switch, resonant BPF, and external noise input. Classic shimmer to future grit.

🎚️ Drum Mixer Lite — six channels, LED metering, switchable AUX send, plus a vactrol compressor that glues (or crushes) your kit into one punchy monster.

Hexinverter’s DNA, Erica Synths’ engineering — same mutant attitude, new‑school reliability. Ready to patch, perform, and terrify your neighbours. 🔊⚡️

Ambient ghosts - Vhikk X, 4ms Ensemble and SMR, Elta TSC 12

video upload by Jay Hosking

"Two ambient songs performed live with a eurorack case.

Buy these songs on an album here: https://jayhosking.bandcamp.com/album...

This is why eurorack exists to me. I would never come to these sorts of results through any other workflow or gear, would never stumble on these harmonies or gently cascading notes, would never feel out the song progression on a computer or even with a more traditional hardware setup. There are many things eurorack doesn't do as well, but moments like this make me realize why it's so special.

Please go give the album a spin.

Three voices: Forge TME Vhikk X, 4ms Ensemble, 4ms SMR
Control surface: Elta TSC 12
Effects: Intellijel FX 1U, Strymon Magneto, Noise Engineering Versio, Happy Nerding FX Aid XL
Modulation: ALM Pamela's Pro Workout
Mixing: Intellijel Mixer 1U, Befaco STMix

Thanks for listening.

RARE Roland System 700 Modular Synthesiser 1970s - Lab Module & Keyboard

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this Reverb listing

"The System 700 was Roland’s answer to the Moog Modular: it offers similar muscle combined with the very best of 70s Japanese design, engineering, build quality and synth expertise.

For Sale is the lab unit containing: three oscillators, noise generator, ring modulator, VCF, VCA, LFO , dual envelope generators, sample and hold module, and mixer.

Also included is the keyboard controller module and connecting cable.

The synth sounds FANTASTIC but case has minor blemishes and scratches (as per listing photos) as to be expected from a unit dating to the late 70s. Cap missing off the power button.

Synth comes with Australian power supply cable.

Own this rare piece of synth history!"

“Liar, Liar, 960 Denier!” 😅

video upload by John L Rice

"I’ve been getting a bit burnt out doing endless video editing lately so when my friend David (Kindred Lost) made a nice cover/demo of his Moog 960 style sequencer doing the bass sequence from Tangerine Dream’s 'Rubycon' and said 'nothing but the 960 can do this' so I fired up my trusty Moon 569 sequencer to see if I could do it too! 🤓 David’s demo sound much more 'Moogy' that mine and is closer to the original TD track, I mainly just wanted to see if I could recreate similar patterns. Check out David's video 👌😎: • Franke and Ruby [posted here]

I used the following modules:
Moon Modular: 569 sequencer
Oakley: Slim VCO B (as VC clock)
Marienberg: Envelope Generator A, VC Sine Phase Oscillator
Noise Engineering: Cursus Iteritas Magnus VCO
STG Soundlabs: Post-Lawsuit Lowpass Filter
Synthetic Sound Labs: Tube VCA, Quad LFO
Synthesizers.com: Q125 Signal Processor

Also:
Allen & Heath: MixWizard 20S
Lexicon: MX400
Strymon: BigSky, Timeline"

Lacrima Versio: A Filter with Gritty Attitude

video upload by Metamyther

"In this deep dive, we explore Lacrima Versio, the underrated gem in Noise Engineering's Versio universe. Designed for Eurorack synth power users, Lacrima is a stereo state-variable filter with built-in saturation, audio-rate modulation, envelope following, and lush chorusing. Inspired by the iconic Mutron III guitar pedal, this module channels vintage autowah energy into modern industrial techno and experimental electronic music contexts. Whether you're building gritty textures or making your oscillators scream, this video demonstrates why Lacrima will be your essential secret weapon. Perfect for modular synth heads, electronic producers, and anyone obsessed with hardware sound design. Watch, patch, and rediscover filtering – with attitude."

Industrial dark modular synth performance by Stephen McCaul

video upload by Noise Engineering

"Here's an industrial dark modular synth performance by Chief Noisemaker Stephen McCaul.

The bottom case is a six voice case with Incus Iteritas Alia (2), Debel Iteritas Alia, Tymp Legio, Manis Iteritas Alia, Virt Iter Legio + Ampla Legio.

There is a Librae Legio for the percussion submix (paralleling the main mix) and an Electus Versio on a send. The rhythm sequencing is from an experimental prototype that isn't really product worthy.

Pitch sequencing comes from Opp Ned. And the Xer Mixa mixer ties it all together.

The top case is an effects rig for another project but i used a Fala Versio and a Yester Versio in that case for some additional effects.

8 Patches with Boundary Layer by Schlappi Engineering

video upload by Stazma

"New Schlappi Engineering module alert!!!!
Welcome the Boudary Layer, a triple cycling slew acting as a powerhouse of modulation, audio mayhem, and obscure modular tricks in the tradition of Serge DUSG, the Make Noise Maths, our own Boundary, and others while also bringing a few new things to the table.

I'll show you some of my favorite patches with it, most can apply to other similar modules so it might interesting to anyone.

Have fun!"

Schlappi Engineering BOUNDARY LAYER / triple function generator / extensive playthrough

video upload by BRiES

"BOUNDARY LAYER by ‪@SCHLAPPIENGINEERING‬ is an apex triple function generator for eurorack. It has all the tricks up its sleeves and (as usual) is just a joy to work with due to it's well thought out interface and versatile feature set.
In this video I tried getting across how damn useful function generators are, how BOUNDARY LAYER works and how much fun it is to make patches with the module.
I hope you enjoy the video."

0:00 intro
0:40 feature overview
41:22 patch examples
1:00:15 closing thoughts

Boundary Layer is a triple cycling slew acting as a powerhouse of modulation, audio
mayhem, and obscure modular tricks. Each of the channels can act individually as:
-a modulation oscillator
-voltage controlled slew (including portamento)
-AR/AD envelope (decay or release determined by choice of input).

All three channels are tied together by three global inputs, as well as three outputs which select the MAX, MID, and MIN of all three voltages. Using different combinations at audio rate allows for patch programmable stereo drone synth capabilities.

Features

3 separate channels
3 global inputs
3 combined outputs MAX/MID/MIN
Oscillates from low LFO rate (a minute?) to audio rate (>10kHz with exponential feedback)
A CV input switchable between RISE/FALL/BOTH
Bound input for simultaneous control over cycling rate and amplitude
TRIG input for AD envelopes
SLEW input for AR envelopes and portamento or filtering
EOC ouput header switchable between EOR and EOF
16 HP
Skiff friendly 32mm depth (including cable)
current draw: +12V 170mA, -12V 100mA

Wersi CX5 Drum Composer w/ Programming Overlay

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
video upload by Music Manor

via this Reverb listing

"This scarce and unique piece of German ingenuity and (over?) engineering has been tested to the best of our ability. Due to its unique architecture (i.e. - confusing layout, features, and programming), we can only vouch 100% for complete function of the screen, back lights, buttons, faders, and sounds/voices, etc.

We've included a video link of the actual unit for sale below.

It has a fat, punchy sound with a ton of retro character and a few unique and quirky voices. Once in a while we think there's a faint intermittent 'phantom' background noise?

The "SPEED" fader works but is missing the knob. Also, a handful of scratches, nicks, and abrasions are present on all surfaces - nothing serious. The power cable is safe and stable but has areas of electrical tape along its length - we're not sure why. Probably not splits or exposed wire but we did not remove the tape to find out.

Hard to find programming overlay included."

Teenage Engineering K.O. II KNOCK OUT - How about a FMT and start from scratch?

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"The Teenage Engineering is an affordable sampler with 64 MB of memory. In this video I'd like to focus on sampling found sounds, noise boxes and small modular setups. I'll start by formatting the internal memory (FMT) which is a great way to really get to know the KO II without going through all features first. This is not a tutorial. If you want to learn how it works, please visit ‪@SONWU‬ and check out his series which also includes the firmware update.

It's a great machine to stay away from the DAW but also a good 'brain' for sequencing external gear with MIDI, and for turning modular mono sounds into pads and textures. Another cool trick is to sample a chord under each pad, so you can play all kinds of complicated chord progressions with one finger."
