Moog Music Minimoog Voyager: Like MS Excel, It's Got Filters
"In Canada, Bill Holland's fascination with "knobs" would probably get him in some sort of trouble, but here in America, his knob-ledge comes in handy quite often, especially when he needs to exit an enclosed area or, like in this video, he wants to change the filter parameters on a Moog Music Minimoog Voyager.
If you've ever wondered what people were talking about when they said (or wrote) "ASDR," this video will answer all your questions, and then some.
See more on Gearwire.com."

Marion (Oberheim) MSR-2 Poly Analog Modular Synthesizer
via this auction
"Concernig the O.S. VERSION:
- Following Internet searches, I believe these are the latest OS versions:
MSR (mainframe) Version 1.09 / ASM (synthesizer module) Version 1.13
- As you can see, the mainframe of the actual item has OS 1.09; can´t really tell the ASM version at this point
---------- ----------
Some facts/rumors about the MSR-2:
- It has Audio-In, so you can process external audio signals thru the envelope/filter et al.
- The Marion MSR-2 is known for having the 'Oberheim sound' packaged inside a compact single-space rackmount module with modern digital reliability and MIDI implementation.
- Despite its rather harmless and simple appearance, the MSR-2 allows for some fairly complex but intuitive programming. The filters, envelopes, LFOs and other parameters are very analog-like in their sound and editing methods.
- The module is 16-part multitimbral.
8 voices and HROs (high resolution oscillators) used in here, midi control, the rest is quite like the Matrix 6, this mainframe can hold up to 2 complete ASMs (16 voices) and a main graphic EQ. planned: sample player, wavetable synth, FX, FM?.. - Module never came up.. has triangle to saw morphing.

Virtually a high-voltage and low pass. The Steuerkannäle can also be combined. Control signals can be inverted and! Be inverted. In the example, only 1VCO used audio signal that passes through the phaser, then the VC-THF and then Moogfilter. The VC-THF is the sine signal and the signal Rectangular VCO controlled. An LFO modulates the Moogfilter. Additionally, the Sägezahnsignal as control signal for the Moogfilter used."

Buchla Mixers on Buchla Tech
"With the release of the Buchla 206e, there's been some chatter about mixers. Evidently some people wanted to have the patch storage, but not the MIDI control for their 200e. But people more like me said they would like a 1 space all analog mixer for their system. This got me thinking, "what have the mixers been so far?"
206 "elegant" 2 x 3 channel mixers that are also summed to operate as a mono 6 channel one. It has mute and monitor switches on all channels.
205 2 x 5 in 4 out matrix mixers that also sum to make a simple 10 in 4 out one. Monitor switches on each input channel. Not exactly small at 3 panel spaces.
207 jam packed 6 input stereo mixer with manual pan on 4 channels and CV pan on 2. Pre amp. Monitor and mute switches on all channels. Monitor output on the front.
The 226 and 227 are quad interfaces that for the purpose of this discussion are irrelevant."

Roland Juno 106 "Junior" with LFO Triggering
YouTube via rolandsh1000
"A short demo of driving a Juno-106 from it's Patch Shift jack with an LFO. This can rapidly shift the patch that's loaded and, if keys are held down, the envelopes are retriggered. It's an interesting effect.
First, this Juno is obviously a chop job - I got the idea to do this from Henrik Nydell's terrific webpage which generally details the process. He called it a Junior-106, so that's what I call mine. It was quite a bit of work, but I like the 106 better in this size. I have photos on Flickr showing the insides of the Junior. It's snug in there, but it all works.
Second, the idea for driving the Patch Shift with an LFO came from a blog posting by Kevin Lightner, synthtech extraordinaire, on the moogmusic forums. So all credit to him for this nifty trick."

Vukodlak Productions- Hammond Vibrato Scanner
YouTube via ZmajSnoshaj
"Vukodlak Productions brings you "Hammond Vibrato Scanner". An musical adventure into the removal/disassembly/cleaning/and reassembly of a vintage vibrato scanner from a 1968 Hammond T-212 spinet organ. I spent many hours on this part of my restoration project in both learning about the scanner and it's design and making this music video, which in my opinion, is my most unique and comprehensive work to date.
Again I have many "thank you's" to give out on this one. First and foremost credit goes to Steve Leigh of SL-Prokeys for our 2 hour phone conversation regarding the vibrato scanner *among other things*... your advice and wisdom have made this and many past projects possible. You're a rare man Steve.
I'd also like to thank my Dad again for putting up with me and for showing interest in my work. God is good.. all the time ;) Another well-deserved round of applause to Christina Oldi of Greece for her master craftsmanship of jewelery and her insight into the finer details of my projects... and to Johnnie Shaffer for loaning me a lamp to work on my organs with *I love this little lamp Johnnie ;)*. And to Peter Hopkins for coming by during the most critical moments and laying waste to my progress :p *I need to be pulled away sometimes bro... hehe*.
Music credtis for this production go to the usual greats with one new addition. Title song is by Texas Blood "End Of The World"... you guys have been very patient and I thank you. First song is Life's Decay's "Gloria"... a wonderful track that has taste of their "Inksterna" song and aftertastes of "Descence"... excellent music guys :)) Second song is by friend and idol Fabio Frizzi for his "Hotel Lament" from the cult classic horror film "The Beyond", the second film of the unofficial "Gates of Hell" trilogy... you are an enigma to me Mr. Frizzi :))
Third track of the video belongs to The Horrorist, Mr. Oliver Chesler. Big thanks for his permission to use "Wire To The Ear" to finish of this work. You are a grandmaster of circuit bending and all things musically electronic Mr. Chesler ;) :))
This video has taken me a ridiculous amount of time to produce and much drama has transpired as a result of it so sadly, I may be taking a break from editing for awhile to join the ranks of the living world, but will indefinetely be back for more ;)
Enjoy."

Oakley and MacBeth Duet
Youtube via modularland. via Steve. http://www.modularland.com/
"Inspired by the recent USA election Modularland presents a performance of Oakley Modular and the MacBeth M5N. Modularland is a democracy- we do not care if you are Synthesizers.com black, Future Retro white, Oakley blue, Scottish Macbeth, American Blacet, Canadian Modcan, Japanese Roland, digital and sampled like the Miniwave, or thermionic and Chino like the Manley. We wouldn't even have hard feelings if Manley moved to Pomona. Everyone has an equal vote in the final sound.
This track is aleatoric, features no MIDI, and is driven by noise quantized and gated by the Modcan Dual Quantizer 55B synched by Modcan clock 55B driving the Blacet Hex Zone which sequences the MacBeth M5N.
The Oakley VCO is filtered by a Cynthia Synthacon filter to give that nice smooth percussive hit. All audio is run through the Manley Dual Mono Tube Direct Interface into an Alesis IO|26 A/D with some light EQ and reverb added in Cubase. No audio edits of any kind."

360 Systems Digital Synthesizer
"Up for auction is an extremely rare and vintage 360 Systems Digital Keyboard. It has recently been serviced. It has had all the keyboard bushing replaced with new properly lubricated bushings and the keyboard leveled. It has also had many of the capacitors in the analog signal path replaced. To my knowledge it functions 100%. It has factory installed MIDI, not retrofitted, and has been tested. It includes three PROM boards and 11 sounds. The sounds are as follows as best as I can describe them:
2. Mello Bass / Acoustic Guitar
3. Electric Guitar #1
4. Electric Guitar #2 (E to C)
6. Rhodes
7. Oboe? / French Horn
8. Sax? / Trombone
9. Sax? (bottom octave is looped)
10. Alto Sax
11. Cello / Strings - When this sound is "doubled" it is very lush and very nice! Its best sound in my opinion.
The PROM chips are labled with the sound and chip number. They are described as follows:
2. MSC2: 4-7
3. GIT7: 1-6
4. ?? (the labels came off): X4
5. FNK3: 1-8
6. RHO4: 1-4
7. HORN: 1-10
8. CEL: 1-20
9. VLN: 11-40
10. 12 Empty Slots + space for one additional PROM board for a total of 4.
The keyboard is 8 voice polyphonic and can be doubled or layered for 4 voice polyphony. The keyboard can be split and sounds can be swapped. It has pitch and mod wheels with variable LFO speed. I say that it functions like a Mellotron because it only plays the length of the sample and doesn't infinitely loop. ...Or I haven't figured that part out. The analog section of the synth's circuitry has many CEM chips for filtering and dynamics."

"This is another project I just started working on. It is a keyboard/MIDI controler based on the harmonic table (like the c-thru music controler). This one is just switches which all connect to a midi core module (from ucapps.de) which translates the various keypresses to midi signals. There are 50 keys/notes and although I'm going to use letra-set rub-ons to write the notes onto the keys, you can make out which note is which from the blue keys."

punkdISCO on the Roland MKS-80 and Doepfer Drehbank
via punkdISCO on the AH mailing list: "I cant understand why a few people are unimpressed with the MKS80. Maybe it's the interface? Anyway, I have had mine for maybe 6 years and for 5 years it remained unused (interface). I also had a Doepfer Drehbank that was also unused (it was setup to control a few synths so subsequently controlled none). I have now decided to setup the MKS80/Drehbank permanently paired. This means that when I turn then on, they work! The Drehbank has 64 knobs - the MKS80 has 64 editable parameters!drehbank1_mks80.jpg
drehbank2_mks80.jpg
drehbank3_mks80.jpg
drehbank4_mks80.jpg
drehbank5_mks80.jpg
The MKS80 is an incredible synth. It just sounds wonderful. Extremely powerful and with the unusual modulation options, you can get some very aggressive/unusual sounds out of it.I don't know where the previous poster got the 6dB bass boost figure from (I don't ever recall hearing it quantified) and I don't even know if the well documented boost actually exists, although I have no reason to doubt it. With or without this boost, it has a bass to die for. So much so that nearly every patch I use tends to have the HPF turned all the way up (unless it's a bass patch).
Oh yeah, and the duo-phonic is very nice, as is the very flexible unison modes."

Doepfer A-155 randomly sequencing a Livewire AFG sine,
Doepfer A-147 square wave clocking Doepfer A-149-1/2,
Doepfer A-149-2 random gates triggering QMMG CV triggers and CV resonance in no particular order,
QMMG master out lightly treated with Doepfer A-199 spring rev & Doepfer A-188-1Y (256) (CV2 modded with A-149-1)
Actually the patch took less time to set up than it did to write this explanation.
Mind you, this is a prototype QMMG, and I'm only using 2 of the 4 modes (and of those 2 modes used I didn't properly demonstrate their respective ranges, nor did I intend to) this does not properly demonstrate all of the module's enormous potential, just a little jam.
