"8 Steps, with wide pitch range, (with On, Off, or Pulse* for each step)CV, Gate and S-Trig outputs
CV width control
Output for each stage (which can also be used with the reset input to set sequence length)
External Clock and Reset inputs
*Unique pulse function allowing ratchet or timing offset effects
Manual step and reset buttons
Internal clock, pulse rate
Estimated price £225 plus shipping (subject to +/- 10%)
Handmade in the UK
Due to the high cost of parts and long build time I want to see if it is going to be worthwhile in the current economic climate to do a run of these, when the prototype is finished I will be doing a video of it in action.
If you feel that you may be interested in this sequencer please respond to this email to allow me to gauge demand. Assuming production goes ahead I estimate the first units will ship in April.
Thanks and best wishes

"This uses just the Q119 sequencer for the bass line and melody. The envelopes for the melody are triggered by the Modcan Clock 55B, a footswitch changes the rate between the same as the bass line and 1/4 the rate. The drums are Analogue Solutions TR808 clones for the bass drum and hihat and the snare is the 909 clone. The Moonmodular M563 drives the drums and the M564 lets me repeat the first row after the third row for a 32 note bass line."

"This is a very fun and attractive 4 step sequencer. The stain is a warm dark red color that goes amazing with the blue LEDs. Each step has a fine and coarse tune knob to control the pitch. The speed or BPM of the sequencer is controlled by the knob at the top left. You have the option to toggle between 4 steps (notes), 3 steps, or 2 step patterns. Each step has the option of being turned off also. The 4 LEDs at the bottom indicate the place in sequence that is currently being played. The whole thing runs off a 9v battery and has a 1/4 inch output jack that can be plugged into a guitar amp or anything that will accept a 1/4 jack.Keep in mind this is a build intended to appeal to circuit benders and synth people alike. This may not act like your usual store bought sequencer. That is the great part about it. There are sounds you can create with this that no other product is capable of."

Roland TB-303 DEVILFISH
via this auctionauction details - not this is not mine.
"TB-303 DevilFish circuit bent by Robin Whittle. However, there is a problem on the tempo oscillator. Every functions/knobs/buttons/sequnecer are working fine, but the tempo oscillator is not functional after "power on" for 2 mins. Eevrything works fine at the beinging and the tempo speed start to drop slowly. It works really well and nothing goes wrong if I use my SH-101 CV/Gate to slave the TB-303, everything is working. Also I am able to sequnce too, so I am sure there is nothing wrong with the sequncer. I have wrote to Robin Whittle about this matter, he said most likely there is something wrong with the Tempo OSC. That's why you need to get it fix if you want to use the TB-303 internal sequncer. (You can use any music gear with CV Midi convertor to slave it if you don't want to fix the tempo oscilator) Just give you a rough idea how you fix it. I would like to fix it myself but the circuit bent is too complicate in there, I am not able to remove the mainboard and take a good look at the front side of the PCB. I think this is a little problem which can be easily fix by changing the capacitor C7 and C9. However, I can not gurantee anything. Sold as is. You can change the C7 and C9 if you can locate the exact soldering point without removing the mainboard."

Yamaha SS30
via this auction
Note this is the one in this video.
"Control section running from left to right pitch/ detune - The outer pot adjusts the overall tuning and the inner pot detunes the voices against the pitch which can produce a wonderful thickening effect ( some sources describe this synth as a duphonic/ multiphonic ,others describe it as a 4 voice polyphonic. I have a feeling it is a 4 voice polyphonic but the 4 voices are split between cello (two tones) and violin (2 tones) . It then uses divide down chips enabling all keys to be played at once)
Orchestra -Depth ( Speed 1/2 ,cello ,violin ) A great ensemble effect with 2 different effect types (speed) and the ability to separate the effect between cello and violin ( so you can have ,for example cello effect and violins dry )
Vibrato ,Delay/Depth- Very nice vibrato effect.
Sustain, Cello /Violin - sustain 1 control each for cello and violin giving again the ability to have separate amount of sustain for cello and violin sections . Very short to very long .
Keyboard split 0/1/2/3 .0 setting is no split and just the violin sound over the whole range. 1 gives a split with the lowest octave for cellos the rest strings. 2 setting gives 1 and a half octaves to the cello . 3 gives 2 octaves to the cello. The splits are indicated by a white dot above the note on the control panel
Cello ,Volume, attack/slow ,cello1/cello2 - control section for cellos giving control over attack fast/slow. Choice of 2 cello sounds.
Violin Attack/Slow, Viola/violin1/Violin2 /Volume - Same as cello control section though the volume is at the far right.
Brilliance Cello/Violin Very usable low pass filter for cello and violin. "
Update via stevenorgate in the comments: ""some sources describe this synth as a duphonic/ multiphonic ,others describe it as a 4 voice polyphonic. I have a feeling it is a 4 voice polyphonic but the 4 voices are split between cello (two tones) and violin (2 tones) . It then uses divide down chips enabling all keys to be played at once)"
Nearly. It has two master oscillators which are both dived down to give you the full set of notes, twice.
You need two waveforms to get a stringy effect so the same note outputs of the dividers are mixed.
When you press a key you're switching in a mix of two divided down oscillators.
The detune affects both oscillators but not equally hence you can detune one against the other and get to the good old thick sound but more importantly set the PWM type character you need for strings.
The outputs of these mixed waveforms are sent to either the Violin, Viola, or Cello mixers. In some cases the outputs can be sent to either one or the other mixer as set by the split selector switch.
The cello, viola or violin character is set by filters after each mixer. Violin 1 & 2 just are different (1st order) filters fed from the mixer, so when you switch them in you're just mixing and matching different filtered outputs of the same thing. the same goes for Cello 1 & 2.
So far it's just a paraphonic organ but with two tones per key. However the SS30 rules over other string synths because it has an AR envelope generator per key. When you set a long attack each time you press a key it starts a new attack just for that key. same with Release.
There's no VCF per key but that's what we have Polymoogs and, err, GX1's for."

"Second one needs some explanation for the non-French, eheh... Les inconnus were a very popular french comedy act, performing live and hosting successful tv shows circa 1990-1992. This clip is a parody of a very lousy Cure rip-off synth band that was big in the late 80s, with fake interview bits. The lyrics are totally moronic, with the same dull sentence repeated over and over. I think there's a Memorymoog and a Prophet 5... can't seem to recognize the third one." Anyone ID the third synth?
