"Memory Moog Plus with sequencer and MIDI. Programmable, voltage control outputs (link a Mini Moog or modular to this machine), 2 pedals for voltage control of envelope generators, filters etc. and a increment/decrement step pedal for program changes or pre sets. Complete manual. ATA flightcase. This Moog is mint. Lived in the studio for last 20+ years. All six voices tune. Recently calibrated.
I have included pictures of Memory Moog pre-production product visualization from the Moog factory. I worked for Gibson guitars at the time and our plant manager knew the Moog factory manager and a phone call set up my tour while I was on vacation. The factory was in full Poly Moog production and working on the next generation which was the Memory Moog."

"A six voice programmable analogue poly synth in a rack! Dual oscillators, dual LFOs and superb CURTIS resonant analogue filters! Sounds as good (if not better) than ANY of the old school synths we have come across. Fully programmable from the front panel - a doddle when you get used to it, plus we have included a VST editor for it. MIDI controlled, it actually has a lower program and upper program which can play as double or a split."
YAMAHA SS 30
via this auction"A chunky (its heavy, 20kg!!) wood veneered string synth from the 70's. Its a dedicated string synth with all the control needed to make those 70's string sounds. It really has a rich and lush sound , wonderfully simple and effective controls.
Control section running from left to right
pitch/ detune - The outer pot adjusts the overall tuning and the inner pot detunes the voices against the pitch which can produce a wonderful thickening effect ( some sources describe this synth as a duphonic/ multiphonic ,others describe it as a 4 voice polyphonic. It uses divide down chips enabling all keys to be played at once)
Orchestra -Depth ( Speed 1/2 ,cello ,violin ) A great ensemble effect with 2 different effect types (speed) and the ability to separate the effect between cello and violin ( so you can have ,for example cello effect and violins dry )
Vibrato ,Delay/Depth- Very nice vibrato effect.
Sustain, Cello /Violin - sustain 1 control each for cello and violin giving again the ability to have separate amount of sustain for cello and violin sections . Very short to very long .
Keyboard split 0/1/2/3 .0 setting is no split and just the violin sound over the whole range. 1 gives a split with the lowest octave for cellos the rest strings. 2 setting gives 1 and a half octaves to the cello . 3 gives 2 octaves to the cello. The splits are indicated by a white dot above the note on the control panel
Cello ,Volume, attack/slow ,cello1/cello2 - control section for cellos giving control over attack fast/slow. Choice of 2 cello sounds.
Violin Attack/Slow, Viola/violin1/Violin2 /Volume - Same as cello control section though the volume is at the far right.
Brilliance Cello/Violin Very usable low pass filter for cello and violin."

Free iPhone Apps by Pulse Code
DB-303: [iTunes link]
DB-303 is a Roland TB-303 emulator. We have a TB-303 and we ran it through test after test to get the sound of the DB-303 emulator as close as we could. We even measured all of the knobs and buttons of the real TB-303 and modeled them in 3D to get the look of the classic synth. This app is more complex than most apps out there, but it is definitely easier to program than the real thing! You can find an owner's manual here.
BtBx: [iTunes link]
BtBx is a music sequencer based on the X0X style step sequencer. Each sound can be pitch shifted on each step to create melodies and rhythms. Each session has 8 drum sounds, 2 instrument sounds, and 2 synthesizer sounds. There is the ability to load kits and sessions. You can find the owner's manual here.
Android FX: [iTunes link]Android FX is a simple sound effects generator to create, robotic vocal sound effects. Under the hood, there are 8 oscillators, a noise generator, a low pass filter, distortion effect, and a delay effect. The controls aren't typical to a synthesizer, but are a descriptions of your android. You can find an owner's manual here.
Joke Bot: [iTunes link]
Joke Bot is a text to speech synthesizer disguised as a robot who tells extremely corny jokes. The voice has been modified to be a little more robotic and it is sometimes hard to understand. If you can't understand it, touch the screen on the robot's body to see the joke while he reads it. If you want to have him say something you write, touch the keypad on his arm to bring up a keyboard.
And two paid apps:
Polywave: [iTunes link]
Polywave is a polyphonic graphic synthesizer built from the basic elements of subtractive synthesis. Polywave has one oscillator, one filter, one envelope, one LFO, and a 4 octave touch pad.
Polywave has been designed to teach the user the basic building blocks of subtractive synthesis to the budding sound designer. What will interest the more advanced users is the fact that the oscillator, envelope, and LFO waveforms can be drawn on screen with a swipe of your finger. This means that waveform that would be extremely hard to create with traditional methods are now easy.
We do include presets of standard waveforms if you need that perfect saw, square, sine, etc.
The interface is very simple and while you play notes, you can see the output waveform under your finger. The purpose is for the user to see the sounds they creating and how the controls affect the sounds, in other words, bringing the visual element into learning sound design.
Polywave takes advantage of the retina display on the iPhone4.
RVT-1: [iTunes link]RVT-1 (Realtime Voice Transformer) is a vocal pitch shifter with modulation and reverb. It has big controls and an easy to understand layout. To use it, a microphone is required and headphones are recommended. RVT-1 has the ability to record the effect and play it back. It also automatically saves the current recording to the UIPasteboard for use in other audio applications. Since RVT-1 is a realtime effect, the output is always via the headphone output (or ear piece) because the external speaker at the bottom will cause extreme feedback with the microphone input. If you don't have headphones handy, then you can hold the device up to your ear and talk into it as if it was a regular phone call (that is, if your device is an iPhone!).
RVT-1 takes advantage of the retina display on the iPhone4.
Korg X-911 Analogue Guitar Synth
"It tracks monophonic input, so you can use it for guitar solos, bass lines or vocals etc without any problems. If you play a chord through it you get some weird random outputs. Play the same chord again and get a totally different output! You can use it to drive other kit via the trigger and CV outs, or you can drive it from another synth with the various control inputs. There are also foot switch inputs (all on 1/4" jack) on the front so you can control it whilst playing.
ROLAND 100M
"There are four modules & one blank panel. This synth incudes (2) 112 modules (four VCO's), (1) 121 module (two VCF) & the rare 132 module (two CV/Audio Mixer & Voltage Processor)."

Big Briar (Moog) Prototype Chorus Flanger
This one spotted by Rhythmicons. Via silent_switchman on the Moog Music Forum: "Hello fellow Moogists!I think I may have made a pretty spectacular find. I have come into possession of a little effects unit that appears to be a Moog prototype unit. It's a Chorus/Flanger effects unit. It has a handwritten label on it, describing all the functionality of the knobs. Checking against older Moog schematics/prototypes that you can find on the Bob Moog Foundation website, I am inclined to think this is the real deal. The way the unit is laid out and the handwriting sure seem consistent with some stuff up there. Of course, who knows. I plan on writing the Bob Moog Foundation and seeing what they have to say.
I've attached a few snaps here for everyone. I can't vouch too much in depth for how the thing sounds overall; when I bought it, the seller didn't have quite the right power supply - it definitely powers up and it definitely is a chorus/flange effect. I tested it on a old guitar through like a cigarette pack-style amp; not exactly the best testing unit, but I know it works. I need to get a proper 18v(!) power supply for it tomorrow. I'll record some stuff through it and post the recordings up for everyone to hear.
Now, like I say, I can't totally vouch at this point that this is the real thing, but it sure _looks_ like the real deal. What's that 'Kingdom Of South Turkey' bit on the label?? A bit of fun by Dr. Moog?Anyway - crazy find one way or the other. Here are two snaps of the unit. One in color, and an 'artier', B&W snap.
Thanks all! I'll let you know what the Foundation folks say when I get in touch with them. Cheers!"

Remember to check out the Exclusive label below for more posts like this.
Update: this is most likely real. silent_switchman if you read this, contact me for more info. If anyone is on the Moog Forum, ask silent_switchman to contact me.
Update: via Michelle Moog-Koussa of the Bob Moog Foundation and of course Bob Moog's daughter. I wanted to get permission to post this before putting it up.
"This is, without a doubt, a prototype made by the hands of Bob Moog. The construction is one giveaway, the knobs another. For Brian [Kehew], or someone with a bit more technical understanding, perhaps the design and concept are as well. But the real clincher is the writing -- unmistakably Dad. The neat printing is part of it, but the old fashion upper case "G"s with the tails coming in at a diagonal rather than vertically seal the deal. The red arrows, with a solid head and single line is another solid indicatory that "Bob was here".
The cherry on top? Dad's ever present tongue-in-cheek -- even self-depricating -- sense of humor. We lived at the end of a long country road named South Turkey Creek in a cove called Big Briar. Better known now as the seat of Bob Moog's independent company which he ran in between Moog Music (Buffalo) and Moog Music (Asheville), Big Briar Cove was then a place of welcome isolation, quiet and peace for a man whose mind was often preoccupied with harnessing electricity and turning it into sonic capability. A hundred acres, a round house and a mountain creek provided just the balance to his daily work creating such things as Chorus Flangers, theremins and multi-touch sensitive keyboards."

Rhodes Chroma Now Supports an External Alphanumeric Display
via the Rhodes Chroma list:"Following up to the ChromaTalk discussion in April of this year ( http://www.rhodeschroma.com/?id=2010&month=04#speakingofmodifications ) we have created a firmware release to support an external display for the Rhodes Chroma/Rhodes Chroma Expander.
The hope is that easily understandable parameter data will allow a more fluid programming experience, and will make users more likely to modify existing patches, or to create new ones from scratch.
While there might eventually be a one-stop kit to add on the display, the initial addition of the capability is intended to be a 'do-it-yourself' project where interested users have the freedom to make up their own cables, decide their own display mounting locations and to choose their own display housings. (A picture of my display is attached).
The specific details of this feature are provided on the Rhodes Chroma site ( http://www.rhodeschroma.com/?id=cpuplusalphadisplay ).
Special thanks go to Tom Moravansky who generously volunteered his time to review test versions of the firmware. Tom provided specific text for the Patch and Algorithm screens and also provided valuable input concerning the usability of the data.
As with all updates, the changes are intended to benefit Chroma users as a whole. We hope that all comments, questions or change requests will be shared here with the group for discussion.
Best regards,
Sandro Sfregola & David Clarke"

Atau_and_Adam
YouTube via manwithfeathers | July 26, 2010
"Adam & Atau exploit a commonly available consumer electronics device, the Apple iPhone, as an expressive, gestural musical instrument. The device is well known an iconic object of desire in our society of consumption. The iPhone can play music as a commodity, and this is the way most listeners interact with it. Adam & Atau reappropriate the iPhone and its advanced technical capabilities to transform the consumer object into an expressive musical instrument for concert performance. In a duo, with one in each hand, they create a chamber music, 4-hands iPhone. The accelerometers which typically serve as tilt sensors to rotate photos in fact allow high precision capture of the performer's free space gestures. The multitouch screen, otherwise used for scrolling and pinch-zooming text, becomes a reconfigurable graphic user interface akin to the JazzMutant Lemur, with programmable faders, buttons, and 2D controllers that control synthesis parameters in real time. All this drives open source Pure Data (PD) patches running out of the free RJDJ iPhone app. A single advanced granular synthesis patch becomes the process by which a battery of sounds from the natural world are stretched, frozen, scattered, and restitched. The fact that all system components - sensor input, signal processing and sound synthesis, and audio output, are embodied in a single device make it very different than the typical controller + laptop model for digital music performance. The encapsulation in a self-contained, manipulable object take the iPhone beyond consumer icon to become a powerful, expressive musical instrument."
