Harpsitron programming log - 2
YouTube via zioaxiom | September 02, 2010
"After implemented in the analog world the technique used for the Modular Piano, I did some sampling and more mangling on Reaktor. Samples of string programmed on analog synthesizers has been layered with samples from string programmed under Reaktor for further processing.
This is a little test (still in development) of this sound, so this is very far from perfect."
Native Instruments Releases Five New Instruments and Effects
"Native Instruments Releases Five New Instruments and EffectsBerlin, September 2nd, 2010 – Native Instruments has just released five products that further extend its versatile KOMPLETE Instruments and Effects range. The new products include the modal synthesizer REAKTOR PRISM, the studio reverb REFLEKTOR, the organ emulation VINTAGE ORGANS, the effect suite TRAKTOR'S 12 and the amp emulation RAMMFIRE. All products are based on the powerful technology of KONTAKT, REAKTOR and GUITAR RIG, and can be used both within the full versions and the free player versions of these instruments.
The unique REAKTOR PRISM synthesizer was designed by NI synthesis mastermind Stephan Schmitt, and utilizes the new modal synthesis capabilities of the latest REAKTOR 5.5 generation. It generates highly expressive tones and textures that range from powerful basses and leads to deep, organic soundscapes and intricate physical-modelling sounds.
REFLEKTOR is a high-performance reverb processor for use within GUITAR RIG 4 and the new GUITAR RIG 4 PLAYER. Based on Native Instruments' patent-pending Zero Latency Convolution, it combines the quality of impulse response technology with the efficiency and flexibility of algorithmic reverbs to generate both extremely realistic room ambiences and creative, highly original reverberation effects.
The new VINTAGE ORGANS instrument provides the charismatic electromagnetic organ sound of the 60s and 70s. Based on meticulous sampling in combination with the advanced KONTAKT engine, it recreates three iconic tonewheel organs and two distinctive transistor-based models complete with their authentic sound shaping and effect facilities.
The performance effects suite TRAKTOR'S 12 is derived from Native Instruments' leading DJ software, and makes the acclaimed effects arsenal of TRAKTOR PRO available for use as a plug-in in any DAW or music sequencer. All twelve effects, including unique algorithms like the "Mulholland Drive", "Reverse Grain" and "Beat Masher", are optimized for intuitive and expressive real-time sound manipulation.
The new RAMMFIRE amp emulation was developed in close collaboration with one of Rammstein's guitarists, Richard Z. Kruspe, and models the original recording chain that is behind the band's trademark guitar sound. It can be used both as an expansion to the amplifier arsenal in GUITAR RIG 4 and as an individual product in combination with the free GUITAR RIG 4 PLAYER.
The five new KOMPLETE Instruments and Effects are now available for individual download purchase in the NI Online Shop, and are also included in the new KOMPLETE 7 bundle.
Pricing: RAMMFIRE $59 / 49 EUR // REAKTOR PRISM $79 / 69 EUR // REFLEKTOR $119 / 99 EUR // TRAKTOR'S 12 $79 / 69 EUR // VINTAGE ORGANS $119 / 99 EUR

SONiVOX Unveils VOCALIZER – Vocal Production Synthesizer
"SONiVOX Unveils VOCALIZER – Vocal Production SynthesizerNew technology synthesis engine coupled with input based synthesis delivers creative new tool for vocalists and non-vocalists alike.
SONiVOX, Boston MA, based award-winning music software company today offered a pre-release preview complete with MP3 and Video examples of the first instrument from their new NEMESYNTH Audio Research Group, VOCALIZER - Vocal Production Synthesizer.
VOCALIZER is a completely new concept in modern music production that couples a new technology synthesis engine with an open input based architecture. VOCALIZER is one part effect plugin and one part virtual instrument. Vocalists, non-vocalists, & producers feed VOCALIZER any audio source, and it re-pitches, effects, and re-synthesizes the original source into a whole new sound.
Primarily designed for vocal use, vocalists will enjoy the vast options afforded by VOCALIZER to add previously unattainable dimensions to their voice. Inversely, non-vocalists will enjoy the opportunity to use their voices in musical ways that they previously thought impossible.
VOCALIZER also works well with other types of inputs. Drum & percussion tracks fed through VOCALIZER result in complex synth lines that perfectly sync to the original dry drum & percussion parts. Other input sounds afford a powerful and flexible new approach to sound design. VOCALIZER users can take any sound and use it as a shaping tool to be VOCALIZED.
The VOCALIZER marks the first release from SONiVOX’s NEMESYNTH Audio Research Group. Spearheaded by noted audio guru and scientist Jim Van Buskirk, pioneer inventor of the virtual instrument, modern computer driven sampling, and real-time low-latency convolution, SONiVOX’s NEMESYNTH Audio Research Group’s sole purpose is to discover, research, & develop revolutionary new enabling technologies for musicians everywhere.
VOCALIZER - Vocal Production Synthesizer is MAC & PC compatible and will work with most major DAW software as a VST, AU, and RTAS plugin.
VOCALIZER - Vocal Production Synthesizer is slated for a release date of October 1st 2010 with a MSRP of $149.99 and an estimated street price of $99.99
SONiVOX claims that VOCALIZER must be heard to be believed and invites all to checkout the VOCALIZER videos and mp3 examples at www.sonivoxmi.com

AS Oberkorn: Transposing a Live Analog Sequence via CV or MIDI
YouTube via rezfilter | September 02, 2010
"HOW TO: Transpose a live sequence using CV or MIDI to CV on the Analogue Solutions Oberkorn sequencer.
This is a particularly useful feature when using the sequencer w/ a DAW or MIDI setup.
This video features a bassline (SCI Pro One) being sequenced by the Oberkorn ( row 1 is controlling pitch cv, row 2 is controlling filter cutoff). The sequence is then transposed and ultimately recorded as MIDI into a DAW for use in a track. Oberkorn is also simultaneously sequencing the SE ObieRack via a separate gate. Machinedrum provides the simple beat, and Juno 106 for the live poly synth.
The Kenton Pro Solo was used to provide a MIDI to CV solution, but any CV synth or other MIDI to CV solution would work for purposes of TRANSPOSE IN."

via this auction
"The Rota-Synth is a desktop 8-step analogue sequencer, coupled with a monophonic, true analogue synthesizer. It does not use a keyboard like a conventional synth, but instead generates musical sequences and sound effects that you program in real time.
This is the prototype, and this video demonstrates the sequencer section and analogue state-variable filter. No external effects are used in this clip.
There are two more demonstration videos, part 2 shows how the sequence length can be altered and steps added/removed, and the frequency modulation effects available."
TRAX RS-1 Rota-Synth Analogue Sequencer & Synthesizer Part 2
traxcontrols | July 28, 2010
"This is the second demonstration video for the TRAX RS-1 Rota-Synth, a new 8-step analogue sequencer which incorporates a monophonic, true analogue synthesizer.
In this part, the Glide control is explored, the sequence length is altered by setting a 7-position rotary switch, steps are added and removed using the toggle step switches, and we show the different effects available when the VCO is frequency modulated by the Low Frequency Oscillator. This has a waveshape control, for more modulation possibilities.
The only external effect used here is reverb."
TRAX RS-1 Rota-Synth Analogue Sequencer & Synthesizer Part 3
traxcontrols | July 28, 2010
"In this final video, the RS-1 has been connected to a computer running Ableton via a USB to MIDI lead. This allows you to synchronize a sequence to the MIDI clock output of the computer program.
The RS-1 can also be synched to any other electronic instrument that has a MIDI Clock output, in which case a 5 pin DIN MIDI lead is used.
Apologies in advance for the rather monotonous sequence - there must be many talented musicians out there who can get much better results!"
via this auction"The Rota-Synth is a desktop 8-step analogue sequencer, coupled with a monophonic, true analogue synthesizer. It does not use a keyboard like a conventional synth, but instead generates musical sequences and sound effects that you program in real time.
Use it to create rapidly repeating musical phrases, grungy riffs, retro computer game effects, rolling basslines, off-the-wall rhythmic patterns, dub sirens, weird sci-fi effects, plus sounds yet undiscovered....
No clumsy menus to wade through - just switch on and go. You get full, hands-on control via knobs and switches.
Sequencer SectionThere are separate pitch controls, toggle switches and yellow LED indicators for each step - creating sequences is fast and easy. The Sequence Length switch lets you change the number of steps in a sequence "on the fly"; great for improvisation in live performances.
You can synchronize the sequences to any electronic musical instrument that has a MIDI CLOCK output (just connect with a standard 5-pin DIN MIDI lead).
You can also sync. the sequence to a computer running music software which outputs MIDI Clock, in which case you will need an optional USB to MIDI lead (available on eBay).
PLEASE NOTE: the RS-1's MIDI Sync. input will only respond to MIDI CLOCK, START and STOP commands - it is not possible to control the actual pitch of notes with MIDI.
A 0 - 5.7V control voltage output is provided, along with a +5V gate output, for driving other analogue equipment such as synths and drum machines.
Synthesizer sectionFULLY ANALOGUE voltage-controlled oscillator, with triangle and square wave outputs. No glitchy digital oscillators here! Huge frequency range, tuneable from a few Hz. to almost ultrasonic frequencies.
Full frequency modulation of the VCO by a low-frequency oscillator, for anything from a simple vibrato to devastating hyper-modulation! Waveshape control for even greater versatility - create whoops, ultra-slow sweeps and trills.
Turn up the Glide control a little to slide smoothly from one note to another - perfect for dreamy, melodic sequences. Turn it up further, and you are in the Twilight Zone!
Two square-wave sub-octaves can be mixed with the VCO's output for a fuller, fatter sound, perfect for basslines and organ-like effects.
True analogue state-variable filter for "Moog" (TM) style effects, with manual sweep. Selectable Bandpass or Lowpass response.
Add your own effects pedals to increase the range of possible effects even further!
The RS-1 will work on any mains voltage between 110V and 240V ac, via the supplied mains power adapter.
Dimensions: 278 (W) x 173 (D) x 95 (H) including controls and rubber feet. Supplied complete with a comprehensive Owner's Manual containing full operating instructions, tutorials, troubleshooting guide, service information, and program sheets you can copy and print out for future reference.Guaranteed for one year from date of purchase. Full after-sales service available after expiry of the guarantee period."

Kawai spectra m25 acid mix

"Early 90's cheesy demo of the kawai spectra ? The sounds are 100% spectra presets , a bit of a favourite synth with detroit and acid house musicians in the early 90's and all over warp records and detroit releases.
The spectra cant help but sound like the demo , the sounds are all presets but with some work you can get some beautifull glassy and ethereal pads .In comparison to the k1 / k4 and k5000 i find the spectra has a more organic tone and seems to be able to nail the 90's much easier and this early rave and detroit sound , not sure why but it does.
If i had to have one synth for detroit techno or rave music it would be this one without a doubt.
