LFO Controlled MIcrokorg and Alesis Bitrman

LFO Controlled MIcrokorg and Bitrman Bass Chaoss.mov

YouTube via boombaumYT | October 18, 2010

"LFO CV controlled Korg Microkorg and Alesis Bitrman.

LFO modules are Utility LFO and XOR/XNOR Modules by Ken Stone CGS. Microkorg's pitch bend and mod wheel and Bitrman's "Bitrness" are modded with CV inputs. You can switch between original pot and the CV Input. The CV is mixed on a passive CV mixer, so the initial CV is mixed with the LFO CV

Just modulation madness."

LFO controlled Microkorg and Bitrman Chord.mov

boombaumYT | October 18, 2010

"In the beginning your hear the pure sound af MIcrokorg, then XNOR module modulates the pitch (via pitch bend), then Bitrman "Bitrness, then Utility LFO modulates the cutoff (via mod wheel)"

LFO controlled Microkorg, Bitrman and Metavox.mov

boombaumYT | October 18, 2010

"The arpeggio is a Microkorgs factory preset sound. You hear it in the beginning wothout modulation by LFO. Then the cutoff of the MIcrokorg and the bitrness of Bitrmn are modulatedby the LFO. Later, the Metavox is mixed in and modulated by the XOR/XNOR module and the internal modulators.

In the first 1 minuite you can see and hear the modifications on my Bitrman: Master volume and Dry/Wet Balance, wich are great modifitions for both live performance and studio sessions.

More about the Boombaum Mods of Bitrman and Metavox comming soon!"

Crystaline - Kaossilatron

via Crystaline (click to listen and download)

"The album exclusively made using the Korg Monotron and the Kaossilator Pro as Loopers/Sampler/Recorder, sound source and live performance tools. Thus the music are un-quantized, with no undo either. All about spontaneous performance, live pattern switching, gate arpeggiator and pattern length changing on the fly. Almost feels like playing a pinball table and that's the idea behind the Kaossilatron album and render.

Also featured is me doing beatbox (processed by the Kaossilator Pro fx such as the Grain Shifter and Vocoder) and several Traditional Indonesian Bamboo Instruments, such: Angklung, Gambang, Suling and Pripitan."

"This is one of the rare consumer synthesizers that offered more than the standard pianos, organs and strings. The DJX is full of pop-electronica sounds circa the mid-1990s. More importantly, it has a lowpass filter with knob control and a lo-fi sampler. The keys are velocity sensitive, and it has MIDI in and out."

A New Start

YouTube via attorks | October 17, 2010

"Hello, my dear fellow YouTubers,
I have been neglecting you for a while. But I have good reasons for this. A long lasting relation has ended (the video 'The Big Decision' may have given you a hint) and a new very promising relation is arising. So I have been very busy in last weeks but somehow there was not much room for making music. But a few weeks ago I visited a fellow YouTuber Skoulaman because I like the music he makes and lives relatively close by. Last Friday evening he visited me to see and hear my humble setup in the attic. On the videos it may look as if it is a big corner with plenty of room but in fact it is very small and 2 people hardly fit. But we managed to make a short video with an improvisation. Skoulaman is playing the Waldorf Q Keyboard with some pad sounds. I made and operate the sequencers and Modulars. I also played the theme on the Roland XP-80 doing a piano and a synthbass sound on the Nord Lead 1 trying not to push Skoulaman from his seat..."

Bernie Krause - Wild Sanctuary

via Lorne in Canada:
"Bernie Krause is a global treasure and people newly discovering the history of analog synths should know about him. I (and so many others) bought all the albums and his more recent books are a wonderful discovery for gear heads who need to get out more Smile emoticon. One book (w cd) is on rare vanishing soundscapes of our planet and why he walked away from the studio life and the other is a basic book on how to get started recording the sounds of other life forms around us. It was written in the age of minidiscs and DATs but still worth reading. And he was there at the start with the first Moog in LA working the studios and sitting in the background of so many famous albums. The site is a great read, images and sounds. Bring the world into your studio if you can't get out."

Radiophonica - Dr. Who BBC Radiophonic Workshop Inspired Sample Set

via Hollow Sun
"Inspired by the old-school sound design antics of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Ian Boddy's Radiophonica takes us back to a time when Dr Who still had some semblance of geek chic and the ring modulator ruled the sci-fi roost.

Radiophonica is the first title in Ian Boddy's 'Waveforms' series of sample libraries. All the sounds were produced and recorded directly from analogue hardware synthesisers such as the venerable EMS VCS3 and MiniMoog and also the Roland 100M, Doepfer, Analogue Solutions and Analogue Systems modular synths."

MAXIM MDS-100 ANALOG SYNTHESIZER DRUM MACHINE

via this auction

"100% Analog Drum Machine made in Japan. Built like a tank and highly flexible.
I am told it sounds like a Simmons SDSV (which are amazing) and a Roland TR 606.

Quote: 'Appears to have SSM2044 per channel, and lots of other nice things. Quite solid in design, all balanced, had a 9 pin Molex on the back so you can hook up all your triggers in one easy connector'
Quote: 'I have one of these in my collection. I would say it's most probably the best analog drum brain there is. Identical sounds and programming to a Simmons SDSV but with much better build quality and routing.'"
