"Linn Electronics Linndrum produced in 1982. This unit works 100% and is in very good shape. It has the very useful JL Cooper MIDI kit installed. It's very useful to sync the machine or to use it as a midi sound module. It comes in its original box"
via Michah Frank "MachineKits has finally been released today! It was a long road to get it out the door but I’m proud to finally have it distributed by both Puremagnetik and Ableton. It was created last year by myself and Brian Cass. We intended it to be a follow-up to Ableton’s Drum Machines released in 2007 and I think we succeeded. Some great kits, clips and overall sound design in this." follow-up to this video post.

RENE as a semi preformance module

"It is functionally similar to the monome, inasmuch as it is (at its base level) a bunch of buttons and a bunch of LEDs. However, the thing that makes this a vast improvement over the monome is that it has several different levels of control in addition to the single on/off state of the monome."
Active Attenuators "The Active Attenuators module is a cascading bipolar gain processor which combines attenuation, mixing, signal processing, and distribution in one general-purpose module. There are three bipolar gain cells (top, middle, and bottom) which have two inputs per cell. The left input of each cell is normalised to the left input of the cell above, save the first which is normalised to +5 volts. As it ships, the top two cells have a range of -100 percent to +100 percent gain, and the bottom cell has a 200 percent gain range.
For example, take an LFO running at -5V to +5V and turn it into 0 to 10V with the top cell, send fixed CV to a second module with the middle cell, and then amplify a weak signal with the bottom cell. Or be boring and just use it as 3 attenuators. I'll probably do that myself.
Whatever you do, this Swiss Army knife of signal processing is sure to be a benefit to your electronic music studio.
This module has a physical depth of only 2 inches.
Price: $195"
Active Multiples "The Active Multiples module is a set of 3 4-output buffered multiples. The lower multiple has two inputs allowing it to act as a unity gain mixer as well.
Buffered multiples are important for control and trigger routing because they ensure that no unexpected impedance loading damages the scaling of control voltages or the strength of trigger signals.
This module has a physical depth of only 2 inches.

In a very small group, we'll be putting together and customizing the basic Electric Eel synthesizer design which I've designed. If you're not familiar it with it, it's a mobile platform for synths, a single instrument containing a keyboard, knobs, generator, amplifier, and speaker - it has no on/off or volume switch; its volume is proportional to how hard you slide, bounce, or bow the generator! This is the wiki where all the technical information is published. And this is the url for the workshop..."
but we are unable to continue production of the SunSyn Mk2 because of technical reasons. It was a trial to revitalize this product after it's 10 years history, but the problems of aquiring of some exotic parts on the main board are simply too high.

Keys were played through Ableton Live with Lounge Lizard 3. Bass is from the KO-Pro. Voyager comes in at 3:55. Beats were done with a Puremagnetik kit in Ableton."

"TAPE IS BACK! In virtual form..."
I've been on the fence posting the Portastudio as this site is synths only, but... This video features the Yamaha Tenori-On, so there you go. The Tascam Portastudio iPad app is a project by Chris Randall of Analogue Industries. He also runs Audio Damage. As always it's interesting to see what the makers do.
via this auction "extraordinary Mid-70's vintage analog VCO/VCF/VCA synthesizer under digital control is an unusually expressive instrument as it features immediately accessible, simultaneously-available aftertouch or "Touch Sensor" (aka presssure sensitity) MULTIPLE parameters.
This is the later, more stable version of the ARP PRO SOLOIST. It features more reliable, faster switches for voicing and an XLR output in addition to phone jack output. It also has a PORTAMENTO (or GLIDE) jack, and a footswitch (included) for use in that jack. EXPRESSIVENESS! TOUCH / AFTERTOUCH / PRESSURE EFFECTS! Sure, others have Pitch Bend, but here you have, at the flick of a single switch which is ideal for performance (thus the PRO moniker): "WOW" (res filter opening/closing), "GROWL" ( SECOND LFO LF Mod), BRILLANCE, VOLUME, and of course, VIBRATO.
OVERALL TOUCH SENSITIVITY immediately accessible. GLIDE / GLISSANDO / PORTAMENTO also immediately available via included AUTHENTIC ORIGINAL ARP FOOTSWITCH, with immediately available GLIDE SPEED Control too! REPEAT effect, with it's own LFO also available, instantly.
The ANALOG VCO/VCF/VCA voices are further enhanced with digitally-routing control through thoughtful fixed format resonant filter banks, and a HP filter, so there are actually SEVERAL seried filters. The sounds are primarily LEAD sounds, as this is a solo, monophonic instrument. Add a little chorusing or delay effect externally for even richer "phatt" sounds.
THREE Octave manual uses easily accessible simple contacts for easy user maintenance.
INCLUDED: FULL ARP SERVICE MANUAL, ARP PORTAMENTO FOOTSWITCH
The design is particularly ripe for modification, and bringing out some of the analog controls over the VCO/VCF/VCA, such as variable AD envelope control, etc. We've chosen to keep the design and circuitry intact per collector's usual preference. If you are interested in having this already-incredible Lead Synthesizer tricked out (modified) by us, please inquire, OR we can assist you in doing yourself, but be forewarned, mid-70's circuits have their own peculiar idiosyncracies and exotic parts requirements for compatibility.
HERE are two photos showing all the voices. I believe the RED voices are based on pulse and/or square waves with even harmonic content in varying ratios and the GREEN are based on sawtooth or highly filtered (sine or triangle wave-like haunting sounds).
Remember, this is a LEAD INSTRUMENT - monophonic, no chords. All the power is packed in AVAILABLE EXPRESSIVENESS. Take some time to learn the extensive expressiveness parameters available on this amazing synth and you will create incredibly organic, heartfelt, powerful sounds."

"I designed and implemented the Interface SFX for Skate2 and created this clip showcasing some of the design elements used. The direction for the games audio interface design was very lofi, noizy, dirty, scratchy, distorted to match the 'do it yourself' visual style. Some of the samples have been mashed and processed into this electronic/glitch track.
I didn't have any video capture as in my other demo so I decided I would make a MaxForLive patch that did some clever image mashing and sequencing using audio input, timeline and tempo information from Ableton. The images were mostly image search results for Skate2.
audio comes in after the :30 mark "The user can adjust the 16 step pitch and volume sequences which is reflected in the one pianoroll object in Pd. There is a randomize button for the pitch and volume sequence. Each step is highlighted with a green dot on the interface 16 step timeline. The sequence can be played forwards and backwards with adjustable tempo and transposition. The wavetable has 8 presets, a randomize function and can be drawn in, which is reflected in the wavetable window in Pd. The envelope also has 8 presets, a randomize function and can be drawn in, it is also reflected in the envelope window in Pd. There is also 5 effects: delay, distortion, wah, trails and pulse width modulation. And of course a transport section complete with pan, volume, mute, momentary mute, play forwards, play backwards, and stop. This was more an exercise of implementing control than anything else, it actually doesn’t sound the greatest as it is still just an 8bit sequencer but it has a nice chiptunesque retro quality. I actually like the juxtaposition of the old sound with the new control technology. Audio in the video does not start until 00:34
"I have wanted to do something creative with a game controller ever since I first discovered the [human interface] object in Max. And as soon as the new Nodes object was released I thought a great implementation would be to use it with some sort of joystick.
I’m using MaxMSP to receive all the control data from an XBox 360 controller and converting it to OSC messages to be used with any program that accepts OSC, in this case Reaktor. I’ve made each message range scalable as well, for fine tuning control possibilities.
I added 9 nodes for each joystick which gave me 11 control parameters (including XY) for each joystick! It was a little unpredictable to know what kinds of results that would achieve but that was the fun part :)
I pretty much randomly assigned all the controls to this ring modulating synth and buffer effect Buffeater. Fun times."
I posted on the Kyma forum wondering if Kyma could simulate this and some members stepped up, particularly "Keph" (aka Ben) who created and fine-tuned this patch written in Kyma as a simulation of what the Buchla module is doing. He kinda went crazy and added all sorts of additional controls.
This is essentially 2x16 band modal filters that are animated across a stereo A/B buss. Independent animation of frequency amplitude and bandwidth (q) of each band.
This is one drum loop through this filter dry, no other effects."

"This is a classic. It is INTENSELY musical and features things that not many other old vintage synths have; including resonant low AND high pass filters, expressive aftertouch options, a super-usable ribbon controller, a ring modulator (typically only monosynths have this), and glissando....
1 VCO with SUB OSC as well
2 ADSRs (one for filter, one for amp)
HPF and LPF, both resonant
1 LFO, plus an independent LFO for PWM (Best PWM I've heard on a synth so far)
8 voices Ringmod sections with various controls (This is how to achieve that Vangelis sound)
Ribbon pitch controller (Great for solos)
External input for LFO control (make it track to drum machines, etc)

"The Rhizome: the groove machine with and for VST has just been released.
The dream to combine the power of a PC and the ergonomic of a real musical instrument is becoming reality.
Feeltune announces the release of the Rhizome; one of the highlights of the MusikMesse when it was first presented last March. Many sites and magazines rated it best of the 2010 trade show! The Rhizome is the future of groove machines.
What are the differences with the competition? The Rhizome is a hybrid in which you install virtual instruments and effects in a VST/VSTi format (For Pc). No more limitations in terms of sounds and effects; with the Rhizome you choose the style of sound and instruments you want to play. Once downloaded you can mix your plug-in with the mixing desk; create your sequences, patterns and tracks with the multi modes and multi tracks sequencer which is the brain working behind the scene.
What are the differences with the other hybrids already on the market? The Rhizome is not just a keyboard with a Pc or a Pc Rack; it is a real musical instrument which has been designed for the pleasure to play and compose music and is equipped with software running an innovative interface with numerous displays and controllers.
The Rhizome is a real-time instrument: programming, recording, sampling, adding instruments and effects, tuning; all you do is live! There is no interruption when you play on stage or record in a studio. The objective: to free up your inspiration and creativity.
The development of the Rhizome took several years of R&D; 50 engineers and the validation of around 10 user groups. Today the Rhizome is an aggregate of the best technology and know-how.
For the Audio it is RME that does the job; it has been chosen because of its stability and sound quality which is recognized by everybody.
For the display; forget the small monochrome displays; the Rhizome offers 4 large displays (24 bit colors)
For the controllers; the Rhizome has 102 controllers in which you find 16 dynamic pads and 32 endless knobs
You get the Windows XPE which is a version of Windows XP Pro that has been redesigned and compiled especially for Feeltune. It offers a better stability and a total compatibility with VSTs.
For the effects and instruments; some of them have been developed by Ohm Force, well know key player of the market.
A Design and solid ergonomic; a size and weight that allows bringing the Rhizome with you as hand luggage when you travel by plane.
For its embedded system; you get power and reliability: Intel processor and mother board, server AC, silent fans.
Software, proprietary electronic card and box: build, assemblage and control in France.
Connections: The several in/out allow you to connect and use screens, mousse, midi controllers; hard disk and/or additional audio card.
Communication: The Rhizome is the first instrument to totally implement CopperLan; a new protocol that above the Midi transcription really revolutionize the communication between audio-video machines.
