"Up for auction is interesting hand made 2 channel analog drum module called - SIMMONS. It was made in eighties in Soviet Union. The title may be was associated with famous Simmons drums or may be the master was copied some Simmons circuits in creation this unit or something like that. As a result we have a black box with two identical channels of analog drum synthesis that sounds very interesting. Control panel parameters - trigger input sensitive, decay, tone sweep, pitch and noise controls for each channel. On the back side - two trigger inputs and line out on a standart 1/4 Jack adapters. The unit runs from standart 9V power adapter/not include/. Both tone generators works great. Noise unfortunately don`t works. But even with not working noise section this is very cool source of various analog drum sounds, bubbles, drones, birds etc..."

"Professionally Modified, now a retro Desktop synth Module with sleek wooden sides and back-lit blue display!!!. All the same functionality as the original DX-11 but now in a smaller compact size with great aesthetics!!. Excellent for the computer musician wanting to add an FM synth engine to their setup. In my opinion the DX11 is the best FM synth yamaha ever manufactured. Released in 1988, this keyboard made FM synthesis far easier to understand than earlier yamaha synths (DX7 for example). With it's multi timbral capabilities allowing the user to create 8 completely seperate monophonic synth lines using an external sequencer, equivilent to 8 fully programmable monophonic FM synths in one box!. Many ways of setting the polyphony of the synth (1 sound, 8 note poly). Extensive midi capabillities for the time with built in synth effects such as delay. Multi point envelope and modulation effects, also a socket at the rear for the optional breath controller (BC1). Comes with RAM4 cartridge giving further storage for user sounds and performances..."

With up to 9 minutes of recording time and 14 minutes of standby, RiffWatch makes it possible to record part of a song on the go. Introducing the Mattson MAXI Modular!

Today marks the six year anniversary of George Mattson deciding to get back into the synth business with the Mattson Mini Modular.   The first public teaser actually went up here on MATRIXSYNTH back on September 15, 2007.  Pictured to the left is a white prototype sitting on top of a Synthesizers.com system from the 2007 PNW Synth Gathering.

As you can guess, people were astounded by the small form factor. Not satisfied with having the smallest format in the modular world, George Mattson has decided it's time to have the largest.  We are talking hardcore BIG with THE FATTEST knobs and jacks you will find on any system.

I had the honor to announce the original Mattson Mini Modular to the world.  I am now proud to present to you his next format, the Mattson MAXI Modular.  Pictured below are the first two modules in the series, the SQ3/6 MONDO Sequencer and the Jet Engine Noise module.  Each module in the series will come in it's own powered cabinet - one module per cabinet. The Noise module can be set to blow dryer modeo for those live hair in the wind moments.  Don't forget the spandex!  Update: George tells me there is a hidden "Popcorn" mode in this dual system.  It plays Gershon Kingsley's synth classic "Popcorn" and doubles as a popcorn maker. The popcorn shoots out of the noise jacks.  You set the fluff, rate, salt, and butter settings with the SQ3/6 sequencer.

SHARP proximity sensor

Published on Apr 1, 2013 organfairy·369 videos

"Sharp 2D120X is a proximity sensor unit that can be used as it is as an analog interface. The output is a voltage that varies with the distance to any object within the optical line in front of the unit. Contrary to many other optical sensors this one doesn't work by measuring the amount of reflection. Instead it uses the triagulation principle work the angle of reflection is detected - the bigger angle the closer the reflection might be.
I made a little interface with the necessary voltage regulator (it requires 5V and my synthesizer modules runs at 9V) and a DC amplifier.

The music is played on E-mu Pro-formance/1+ piano module, Roland JX-8P synthesizer, Yamaha HE-8 organ, and Roland TR-626 drum machine."

Damn Son! conTRAPtion Turns Any Song Into Trap! New VST Plug-in

Damn Son! conTRAPtion Turns Any Song Into Trap! New VST Plug-in - Dubspot Exclusive
Published on Mar 31, 2013
more info at http://blog.dubspot.com/contraption/

"conTRAPtion is one of the most innovative VSTs to come out in recent memory, a plug-in that can take any song and convert it into trap! Created by Icelandic software company Polarfoils Industries, conTRAPtion combines elements of Southern rap music with EDM synths and sounds.

conTRAPtion opens up new directions in trap music production! This VST is guaranteed to meet the demands of today's DJs and trapaholics everywhere.

Load any song you want and after a brief analysis conTRAPtion slows down the tempo, rolls off the low end and adds distorted 808 kicks. Then it adds syncopated hi-hats alternating between 1/8th-note and 1/16th-note patterns. The final layer is classic trap sounds like gun shots, air horns, explosions, and of course "Damn Son, Where'd You Find This?"

conTRAPtion has multiple settings. If you want a subtle track spin on it, simply apply the first setting SWAG.

If SWAG isn't cutting it and you need to get more hard in the paint, that's what TURNT UP is for.

The next setting, MAYBACH MUSIC, adds flair, snares, and track IDs. And when there's no turning back and you need to turn the trap up to 11, simply apply "Damn Son, Where'd You Find This?"

conTRAPtion also has a "chopped and screwed" feature, simply flip the CHOPPED & SCREWED switch to apply the effect."

Update to iPad and iPhone Looper App “Loopy” Brings Loop Effects, New Possibilities for Musical Expression

"Melbourne, Australia, April 1, 2013

Indie developer A Tasty Pixel’s live-looping app 'Loopy' gets an update today that introduces new loop effects. The features lend a new dimension to performances and musical experimentation. Loopy lets musicians and tinkerers alike rapidly build multi-layered musical pieces by recording or importing looped layers of sound.

A Tasty Pixel’s recording and loop-layering iPad and iPhone app Loopy today gets a significant update, bringing loop effects to the app’s already extensive feature set. The new effects, reverse and decay, introduce new possibilities for musical expression and have been the features most frequently requested by users.

'Loopy lets anyone with an iPad or iPhone create music in an exciting and novel way: By recording and looping layers of music,” said A Tasty Pixel founder and developer Michael Tyson. “Both Loopy’s hobbyist and professional users love it for the creativity boost it gives them, and I think they’ll love the things they can do with these new effects.'

Developed by the same developer that produced Audiobus, the revolutionary inter-app audio routing platform, Loopy already works with Audiobus’ large and growing community of apps, allowing users to record and loop instrument and synthesizer apps, or apply an extensive variety of live effects to recordings.

Other features in the new update include a number of new actions that can be toggled by MIDI controllers, several significant improvements to the recording workflow, and enhanced latency compensation.

Loopy HD, the iPad version of the live-looping app, is currently on sale for 50% off.

Device Requirements: iPad, iPhone 3Gs or newer, or 3rd-generation iPod Touch or newer (microphone accessory recommended) running iOS 4.0 or later.

Pricing and Availability: Loopy, the iPhone-only version of the live looper app, is available for $2.99 exclusively through the App Store in the Music category. Loopy HD, the iPad and Universal version of the app, is presently on sale for $3.99 (normally available for $7.99) through the App Store.

About A Tasty Pixel

A Tasty Pixel is on a mission to improve music making on iOS. The co-developer behind revolutionary audio-routing platform Audiobus, A Tasty Pixel relentlessly pursues the very best in user experience and creativity. New Intellijel Linix Module & Richard Smith Joins the Team

via Intellijel

"Linix is the successor to the now discontinued HexVCA module. It comprises six high quality 2164 based linear VCA circuits with CV attenuation and BIAS control for each channel.

The first five channels normal to a summing amp that feeds the input of sixth channel. This allows you to have voltage control of the master sum.Patching into an individual output channel breaks that channel from the master sum. If the direct output is used for each channel then the sixth channel becomes an additional independent VCA as well (Hex VCA).

Each channel has an led to monitor CV activity.

The SUM output has an additional set of leds to monitor the bipolar state of the final sum and a clip led to monitor the absolute max signal level.

Available very soon!
