AnalogFX VXC-2220

video upload by M01C Modular

"AnalogFX made the VXC-2220. A clone of the Synton 222 Vocoder. Both Dutch companies.
You can use it as a vocoder or as a filter bank. Using it as a filter bank requires attenuators, lfo's, or envelope generators.

0:00 Dry vocal
0:37 Vocoding voice
1:05 Different modulator
1:38 Vocoding beats
1:55 Different modulator
3:24 Spectral transfer
4:54 Noise through filterbank (LFO's/Chaos)
5:56 NW1 through filterbank (Envelopes)

In this demo I used MI Braids ( /| x 3) and MI Rings (Chords) as a carrier for the vocoder. Besides speech as a carrier, I used some simple 808-ish pattern. For the filter bank I used noise and a NW1 as the carrier. Used MI Peaks, MI Stages to trigger the filters (Synthesiser inputs) or 2hp LFO, Joranalogue Orbit3, Ginko TTLFO"

"Nice clone of Syntovox 222 vocoder. V1 model, no phantom power on mic in. Used it for line (drum) processing anyway. Impressive spectral twisting but I don't have the room for it."

Eurorack Wave Terrain Synthesizer Module Masters Thesis

videos uploaded by Sam Carswell

Playlist:
Eurorack Wave Terrain Synthesizer Module - Part 1
Triangle LFOs running into the wave terrain module, which is acting as a multi-dimensional waveshaper, going on to control the pitch Braids

Eurorack Wave Terrain Synthesizer Module - Part 2
Wave terrain synthesizer module acting as an audio rate oscillator, with the trajectory's x/y position controlled by two lfos, and its scale controlled by a third. Output from module going straight to amp/scope.

Part of my masters thesis at VUW
Two LFOs being mixed and waveshaped via the wave terrain module, which is then controlling MI Braids (which is also quantizing the input)

Numeric Repetitor patch and jam with BIA and Manis Iteritas - with some explanation

video upload by Rochefsky

"I started playing around with the Numeric Repetitor clock mangler module from Noise Engineering - in my new kit of ALL Noise Engineering modules.
I finally am getting the hang of this thing and some fun ideas started flowing.

Patch: I take the prime output from the numeric Repetitor (NR) into the trigger of the Basimilus Iteritas Alter (BIA) and the “factor 1” output of NR into the clock of the Mimetic Digitalis (MD). The channel 1 output from MD then goes back to the pitch input of BIA. This causes the BIA to have a trigger which precedes a short series of pitch changes, causing an interesting trailing off melody burst which can be extended or shortened using the built in envelope of the BIA. Then I add some Manis Iteritas (MI) melody form channel 2 of the MD with a similar trigger difference effect using factor 2 output of the NR.
I finally feed the BIA audio into Desmodus Versio for some mad Bat Reverb ;) …
Oh, and, I have Cleo Diaz modulation Manis low pass filter…
More patching fun to come!"

video by UncertainMusicCorps

"A duet between MI Marbles and the Stochastic Inspiration Generator (https://www.stochasticinstruments.com...). Two quite different approaches to achieve generative outcomes.

Marbles pairs with Plaits. SIG controls Disting EX Wavetable oscillator. SWN does drone duties"

The Stochastic Inspiration Generator was first posted here with a blue face panel by Omsonic Lab. This one appears to be re-branded under Stochastic Instruments, which technically makes this the first Stochastic Instruments post.

Info on the module:

"Each event the Stochastic Inspiration Generator creates has its pitch, octave, duration, onset, offset, portamento and ratchet set by probability controls. You can exert as much or as little control over what the next event will be as you wish. This could be very simple (e.g. raise C, E, G and 1/16 to 100% and you have a random arpeggiator kicking out constant 1/16 ) or something much more interesting…

The Inspiration Generator leverages tonal harmony by exploiting its statistical hierarchy of pitches: some notes turn up a lot, some not so much, some not at all. Being ‘in’ C Major means having lots of Cs, quite a lot of Gs and Es, a few Fs, some Ds, As and Bs, but no C#s, D#s, F#s, G#s, A#s. Set the note probabilities accordingly and Stochastic will spontaneously jam in C Major. Shift the probabilities, and you morph the tonality, key or mode they define into new tonal landscapes.

It knows all the musical parameters that shape a line: you can probablise the overall octave range over which it improvises (‘register’) and the octave offsets of each note. Bass notes define harmony and inversion, so you can imply a change of C Root to C 1st Inversion by initially dropping only the Cs by 2 octaves and then swapping to drop only the Es, all in live performance. You can even set the likelihood that melodies will be stepwise or more angular. It also knows about rhythm: you can set the likelihood that each subsequent note will be any value from an 8 bar drone to constant 1/16 pulses. And Stochastic can loop: if it suddenly strikes melody gold, hit Loop, define your loop length, release, and it will loop the phrase until you suspend loop. Hit Loop again to return to the saved loop, or hold to overwrite a new one."

From the blog: https://www.noiseengineering.us/blog/...

"There are quite a few things that are the same between the BIA and the Manis. They both have 9 CV-controlled parameters, they’re both 10 HP, they’re both US$360, and they’re both a lot of fun! They hey both use additive and FM synthesis to create their sounds. Both can be percussive, and both can take on duties as basslines or leads too. They are also both complete voices, meaning that they have an envelope and VCA built-in. All you need is a sequencer (or some other type of controller) and you’re off!"

via Winterbloom:

"Winterbloom Castor & Pollux

249.00
Twins that move in and out of phase, unique but of the same kind, bound together in the infinite universe.

Castor & Pollux is a Roland Juno-inspired oscillator. It contains two digitally-controlled analog oscillators implemented using a faithfully modernized version of the original Juno 106 design. Like its inspiration, it can give you that wonderful 80s sound with independent and mixed ramp, pulse, and sub outputs. But the twins do not stop there- the second oscillator can be used to layer in thick detuned sounds, harmonically complex hard synced waveforms, or as a fully independent second oscillator.

The cherry on top is the digitally-controlled chorusing that applies subtle pitch shifting to the second oscillator. This gives a sound that echos back to the Juno chorus circuit but with a unique twist.

Manufactured in the United States.

Pre-orders placed after February 2021 are expected to start shipping in May, 2021.

BURG Session Template 05 - (Goodbye 2020 and Happy New Year!)

ollilaboratories

"If you like my music you can find it here http://bit.ly/BurgMusic and also please consider supporting me at patreon for as little as 1 USD http://bit.ly/BurgPatreon

---

Album info:

Continuing my plans going into 2021 and the writing of my new album, with this i will be posting template jam sessions to YouTube from which I will base and recreate the final tracks. These jam sessions are in no way finalised tracks, but you will be able to hear the main ideas before i start fine tuning the details.

If you join my patreon there will be behind the scenes materials, bonus tracks, stems, sound packs from these sessions and also a possibility to remix the future shortlist single for my release. You will be able to follow the creation of the entire album from idea to final product.

http://bit.ly/BurgPatreon

Track info:

Session 05 is a bit more upbeat style track, the idea was to use the Erebus as main theme, to showcase its nice creamy features.. dub style together with the RE-20 space echo and a huge modulated reverb in the empress really hit the spot.

Also, i wanted to dial it back a bit and make it a tad more minimal than the other tracks. Running at 115 bpm it is still pretty dense, so i hope there is air enough between the sounds making it enjoyable.

Make sure to have a happy new year everyone, i hope that 2021 will bring more music and less chaos. Stay safe all and do something nice for someone today !! Peace !

BURG

GearList:

BURG Session Template 04

"If you like my music you can find it here http://bit.ly/BurgMusic and also please consider supporting me at patreon for as little as 1 USD http://bit.ly/BurgPatreon

Hey there everyone!

Continuing my plans for 2020 and 2021 and the writing my new album, with this i will be posting template jam sessions to YouTube from which I will base and recreate the final tracks. These jam sessions are in no way finalised tracks, but you will be able to hear the main ideas before i start fine tuning the details.

http://bit.ly/BurgPatreon

Track info:

Session 04 is a 118bpm break beat style track, this as I wanted to get away from the four on the floor spell. I spent a lot of time randomizing sequences and patterns, modulating stuff in the eurorack with Pam´s and Planar2, e.g Braids, BIA, Plonk, Furthrrrr, white noise from 1U noise tools and the 3xVCO chords so this tune almost plays itself. This was great for the jam which allowed the tune to breathe in-between sections just keeping the groove going while planning the next part.

I am also with this track breaking free from a writers block which has kept me from making any new stuff for the upcoming album for a couple of weeks... yeah, im free.. for now :)

Have a listen and join me on the ride! :) cheers!

Dreams of Feedback (TX Wiggles 64)

Published on May 25, 2020 poorness studios

"This is a fun little patch. The Pittsburgh oscillator's triangle wave is fed into MI Rings (as a resonator), then into the Chronoblob delay, on to the Aion 107A fixed filter bank, and finally into MI Clouds. The delay repeats are clocked by Pamela's Workout and every 8 cycles, a new random voltage is sent to the FM input of the oscillator. This creates a faux melody even though its only 1 note droning the entire time. Additionally, the output of the fixed filter bank is multed to the mixer and then mixed back with itself to create a feedback loop. Add a little bit of modulation from Batumi... and this is the result."

Eurorack polyphony in 52 HP (single filter)

Published on May 24, 2020 joeSeggiola

"My personal take on polyphony in Eurorack. Recorded in spring 2020.
DIY MIDI to 4x CV/gate interface: https://github.com/joeSeggiola/arduin...
MI Stages custom firmware: https://github.com/joeSeggiola/eurora...

Patch notes, from left to right:

- A DIY MIDI interface (link above) allocates notes polyphonically from the keyboard into four channels of CV/gate. The additional top-most gate output is a combined OR.
- CVs are sent to Chord v2 in Unison Poly Mode: each oscillator is controlled independently by its own 1V/oct input.
- Gates are sent to Stages, which runs a custom firmware (link above) that generates five identical envelopes.
- Veils uses four of these envelopes to drive one VCA for each of the four voices coming from Chord's individual outputs.
- WMD SSF Pole-Zero filters the final mix from Veils; its cutoff is modulated using the fifth envelope from Stages, the one triggered by the OR-gate signal.

[ 0:00 ] Overview, simple melody
[ 1:13 ] Filtered chords
[ 2:04 ] Overlapping arpeggios
[ 3:44 ] Wavetables exploration

I'm not claiming this is the way to get polyphony in Eurorack, I'm just sharing the result of my latest DIY and coding projects."

Angry Drone Patch (TX Wiggles 57)

Published on Mar 31, 2020 poorness studios

"Here's another musical experiment derived from self-isolation. In this video, I patch an angry drone and then explore each of the 4 voices used to create it. In case you're wondering, it's in the key of Bb. The four sound sources are: 1) Pittsburgh Waveforms thru Dwarfcraft HAX, 2) Erica Black Wavetable VCO with wavetable morphing, 3) MI Rings thru Pittsburgh Crush & Chronoblob, 4) Basimilus Iteritas Alter. The mix goes to the Doepfer Wasp filter and then to Boss RV-6. Most of the modulation comes from Batumi."

With MicroFreak I have another love-hate relationship! I can get amazing and powerful sounds out of it, and yet, something is bothering me, and I don't know what!
Maybe you can clear out for me, in the comment section!

PS: I added a 25% of the default reverb presets from Blackhole Eventide, because... who's using a synth without a little reverb?! (lol: many, I know - but not me!).

"This is a one of a kind custom full plug-and-play Loudest Warning System made, designed, hand wired / built and modified by Stroh / J3rk.

This is my favorite synth I've ever owned (and I've had everything from Cwejman, to Macbeth, Moog, etc) but I really need to pay off some student debt so unfortunately here goes.

It includes 8 Loudest Warning format modules professionally custom built by Stroh / J3rk and modified (per request) to work perfectly with 12v and 15v Power. None of these modules have ever been for sale.

Whats included in this bundle -

If you are a module builder (or know one) I can include a few cLee LW Faceplate's, PCB's and Brackets as I will not have time to make these anytime soon unfortunately. Please let me know if you would like them.
cLee - Bits PCB's + faceplate (some components added, not by me)
