What are the TouchKeys?

The TouchKeys are touch sensors that attach to your keyboard to measure where your fingers contact the keys.

Use the TouchKeys with any synth to naturally control vibrato, pitch bends, control changes and many other new sounds while playing.

Put the TouchKeys on your own keyboard with a self-install DIY kit, or go for one of our limited-edition prebuilt instruments.

Transforming the Keyboard

Every keyboard player knows the problem: playing and releasing notes is easy, but shaping what happens in the middle is hard. The acoustic piano wasn't designed to play vibrato, pitch bends or timbre changes, and if you want these techniques on an electronic keyboard, you’re usually stuck with clumsy wheels and pedals or limited aftertouch. The TouchKeys instead put these techniques literally at your fingertips, giving you continuous expressive control with a shake of the wrist or a slide of the finger.

The TouchKeys are capacitive sensor overlays which attach securely to the surface of each key. When you play, the sensors measure the position and contact area of your fingers in real time. This information is sent back to your computer, where the TouchKeys software lets you control any instrument you like. And since they’re attached to your keyboard, you still have the feeling and all the extra controls of your favourite instrument!

The Whole Key a Sensor, with Multi-Touch

The TouchKeys sensors are carefully shaped to fit any keyboard with standard-width keys. The overlays cover the entire playing surface of the key, sensing your finger position in two dimensions (XY). Sensing the touch contact area means the TouchKeys can also distinguish between the fingertip and the pad of the finger. The sensors are even multi-touch: up to three simultaneous touches can be sensed on a single key.

KORG Volca Keys : Testing FLUX function ( experimental )

"Testing Volca keys FLUX function.
When turned off the FLUX, Volca records up to 16 steps quantized notes.
When turned on the FLUX, such limitation is gone.
Even if we make slow tempo setting we can record phrase with faster tempo.
I have no idea about note number limitation ( I wonder how many notes can we record in a loop ?) or time resolution when turned on the FLUX.
This FLUX function works fine with "UNISON" mode.
It also works with Poly mode of course but it is little bit difficult to manage."

"Grendel Drone Commander, a hand-built Dual Oscillator Analog Synthesizer housed in an amazing Ammo Cartridge Box. This is an incredibly expressive synthesizer, and includes the Original Power Supply and Owners Manual. Please read the description below, and also check out the Youtube videos. Snatch up this one before I plug it into an analog delay and change my mind !

With a total of 9 knobs, the Drone Commander offers two manually-tuned oscillators and two LFOs, plus an unusually colorful and nasty filter. LFO1 is an analog variable-shape oscillator, and LFO2 is a pulse waveform that auto-synchronizes to LFO1 at a ratio of 2x, 4x, 8x, or 16x. Both LFOs can be routed to the filter for rhythmic patterns. A line-level output jack is provided for connection to amplifiers or effects.

Six of the Drone Commander's nine knobs double as push-pull switches to control signal routing and waveform selection.

The Drone Commander is housed in a dark green military ammunition case with engraved aluminum control panel. The case is welded steel with an easily removable, rubber gasketed lid. There is almost no plastic in the drone commander! It measures 10″(w) x 7″(h) x 3.5″(d), and weighs about 6 lbs.The unit is powered by a 9V battery accessible through a slide-out drawer in the side, as well as a 9VDC adapter.

Filter CV input (0-10V) and clock pulse output (+8V) are now standard features."

This module is an odd module, the faceplate is original, i believe the PCBs are newly etched (i'm not 100% sure on this but it's slightly more yellow than my other two 281s, which makes me think it's newer), the components are modern as are the knobs."

Doepfer A-190-4 USB/Midi to CV/ Sync Interface Prototype

"A few weeks ago, on July 13, Dieter Doepfer personally appeared at a modular synthesizer workshop in a shop in Munich, Germany, together with a huge Monster Base rack filled with Doepfer modules and an LCB angled basic case with some of the newer modules like the earlier announced A-157 Trigger Sequencer subsystem and the A-190-5 Polyphonic MIDI-to-CV/Gate Interface.

The two-part workshop was very well attended: 50 synth freaks (newcomers and advanced users) followed Dieter Doepfer’s explanations and presentations with enthusiasm.
Although i wasn't there, it can see what an amazing event this must have been; the A-100 modular system explained by its inventor...

Besides all the new A-100 modules there was also a prototype of an A-190-4 USB/Midi to CV/ Sync Interface, that hasn't even been announced yet..."
