Found all this great public domain footage a while back and never came up with a good use for it until now. Came up with some twisted moogloops. Spit some of the lyrics from Max Fleischer's Color Classic "Dancing on the Moon" (1935) through the Moogbox...and this is what came out.
All other moonlapses come from my personal archive of New England lunar activity.
For the original DOTM... check it out on the archive:
With all the Buzz over "3D" these days, it's easy to forget that there were cartoons in 1935 experimenting with "3D" landscapes that are pretty fantastic.
This is for y'all to dance to it slow/ 'cause it's fantastic."
This sculpture uses one single band of spring steel twenty feet long; that creates sound merely by rocking back and forth as powered by a single motor. The variations in the patterns and the depth of the sounds give viewer the feeling of an oncoming storm." Filing this one under nature and DIY.

The guitar is basically used as a remote potentiometer for the APC circuit. WARNING! This Pedal will not work with Active Preamp Guitars, or in the middle of a pedal chain. However it has guitar control, active circuit volume reduction, and stomp switch pop elimination. Cruise over to GetLoFi.com to find out more!"

YouTube via soundxplorer. I want that on this. "Audio from the PC is being used to modulate the frequency of the MF-107's oscillator. Arturia's 2600v is great for this because its oscillators go well into LFO range. Delay and Ring Mod are applied to the CV signal at times. The last clip uses speech as the audio source. No audio is heard from the 2600v, only the FreqBox. My audio interface is not DC-coupled (the M-Audio Delta 44) so it would not work properly with software like MOTU's Volta for envelopes and pitch output, but LFOs seem to work fine."

"Found this going through some various facebook pages. It was publicly posted. I'm pretty sure Nitti still uses a mpc-60 and thats what this is supposed to be. If your'e not familiar with Nitti he's an Atlanta based HipHop/Pop producer known for his work with Gucci Mane, TI, Young Jeezy, Yung Joc, Young Capone, Gangsta Boo and Dem Franchize Boyz."
Note the above video does not feature any synths. It is a concept video for a tablet UI. The hardware looks like the majority of artist renders for the upcoming Apple iPad/iSlate. If you haven't heard, tomorrow, Apple will announce their new tablet device. Rumor is it will essentially be an iTouch with a 10" screen, more power, memory and may have the ability to run multiple apps at the same time. [Update: it most likely will]
Why is this a new world in synthesis? In short this is a new hardware platform for synthesis. Yes it is an extension of the iTouch platform, but the obvious key difference and game changer in my opinion will be the size of the screen. For example, imagine controlling all of your synths running Numerology on the device in that video. Imagine interfacing with your modular with a UI optimized version of VOLTA or Expert Sleepers. Imagine running Way Out Ware's iSample, or how about an ARP2600 emulation with sliders. Imagine running Audio Damage's tattoo on one, etc. And don't forget the accelorometer. Processing power, additional memory, and potentially running multiple apps at once will only add to the advantage the slate will have over the iTouch.
via this auction "Here we have my Emulator II Samper/Analog Synth from circa 1984. I purchased this rig from Dave Gilmours roadie who got it from David (there is no documentary evidence of this but he had no reason to lie to me and I dont doubt it!!).
The serial number is fifteen, yes 15, so this must be one of the earliest EII's that has survived - bearing in mind the new price was around £8000 it stands to reason that only very wealthy musicians could afford one!
Also included is an EMU Drumulator drum machine that has gone faulty and only hums...no output and seems otherwise dead.
The synth comes with three boxes of 5 1/4 floppy discs (must be 150-200) many of which contain all sorts of weird and wonderful sounds including effects, piano, strings and my favourite 'orchestra hits' used by many 80's groups including the Pet Shop Boys who used an EII for many years. I have not been through all the discs but there may be some of Mr Gilmours samples in there...."

They are full analog and are preset based but you can combine diffrent presets to get new rhythms . This just a demo of the presets include on this drum machine and a few combinations :)"

"My second take on on Jarre' s seminal Oxygene part IV using just a Nord Wave, Novation Supernova II, Korg Radias, Stereo Small Stone Phaser and a Mini Pops 7 VST emulation - Tiny Pops for the Percussion track. You can download the demo here - http://www.superwavesynths.co.uk/prod...
No other additional effects were used.
While remaining pretty faithful to the original I have started the track off in a slightly different way, one that I'm sure Jean Michel himself would approve of :)"

"Desperately trying to finish some new electronics before other tasks consume my attention… the latest module for my DIY synthesizer is something like a clone of the recently released Makenoise Maths, which is itself a riff on the Serge Dual Universal Slope Generator. I actually imagine it much more as a kind of analog computer to tell the truth...
The module was created using PCBs from Ken Stone/CGS synths. I love Ken’s boards to death. I used:
2 x CGS75 Voltage Controlled Slope
1xCGS26 Analog Logic
3xCGS04 DC Mixer"

"Like most other DSI MoPho & Prophet 08 owners I wanted VST integration to control/automate parameters. This is the much pre-mature outcome of that desire. Feel free to Beta test & make suggestions in the comment section. Forgive the horrid graphics, I’ll be giving the gui, fixes, & changes my attention during creative downtime. As always I hope other like minded musicians get some use/fun out of these efforts."

also i am going to grow my hair out. but i may keep it brown. it's mellow and easy like sunday morning.
also wes is getting good at raquetball and is turning into the incredible shrinking man.
also i am happy knitting quick knits and getting out of my rut.

"Sea Urchin Shepherd" is a team effort to divert the Korean government from culling wild sea urchins in its waters on a massive scale. We want to persuade the international market that sea urchins taste great, and that they are worthy of a regular place in the daily diet.
