"I currently don't have a CV/midi interface

Anyway I came across Silent Way VST CV/Gate/modulation thingie, and decided to give it a shot with my modded Roland SH2.
I had a tech add in VCA and VCF CV inputs10 years ago, but I never got around to testing it :)

The Silent Way site doesn't list the Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 DSP as DC coupled audio interface that will work with it, but from a quick try with the LFO module into my SH2's VCA and VCF CV inputs, it sure works!

Sweet!!! :D

It also just adds onto the SH2's existing modulation, or subtract I guess, if I use negative polarity"

"This was recorded live during a recent jam session with friends. It's very raw. No edits have been made. Love the grit of this track.

I played a Rhodes VST and Moog Voyager RME, stacked. I used a Korg Kaossilator Pro, Moog Multi-pedal and Moog VX-352 as an XY pad solution and occasionally swept the Voyager's filter cutoff and filter spacing. David played a Roland TD9 electric drum kit piped into Live. Luke played a Gibson electric guitar run through a Moog FreqBox using a Moog EP-2 foot pedal to vary the effect, also captured directly into Live.

It was our first time playing together in this configuration and my first playing with a group."

"The serial number is 4896, which would put it somewhere in the 1973-75 era (early-mid period). This particular unit has been upgraded with the "stabilized" oscillator card, and newer style (bumpy) pitch and mod wheels (the "mod" wheel looks like it was repaired at some point in the past, but is intact and works fine!) He studied electrical engineering at the California Institute of Technology and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, receiving a Sc.D. in 1954. Working at Bell Labs, Mathews wrote MUSIC, the first widely-used program for sound generation, in 1957. For the rest of the century, he continued as a leader in digital audio research, synthesis, and human-computer interaction as it pertains to music performance.

Although he was not the first to generate sound with a computer (an Australian CSIRAC computer played tunes as early as 1951),[1] Mathews fathered generations of digital music tools. "'Daisy Bell' was composed by Harry Dacre in 1892. In 1961, the IBM 7094 became the first computer to sing, singing the song Daisy Bell. Vocals were programmed by John Kelly and Carol Lockbaum and the accompaniment was programmed by Max Mathews. This performance was the inspiration for a similar scene in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

This week's guest on the VBS show Practice Space is singer, musician, handyman, DIY instrument maker, artist, and all around good vibe guy Chad Vangaalen.

In this short and sweet video, shot by Spike Jonze, VBS heads into the gorgeous Canadian Rockies to hang out at Chad Vangaalen's backyard studio in Calgary. In a previous life the studio was a makeshift slaughterhouse and so after a heavy dose of "sage-ing" away the bad demons vibes, Chad takes us around his studio/work bench. Walking around we were mesmerized by his eclectic hand crafted instruments which look like they're straight out of a Dr. Seuss book.

Introduced in late 1970, the Minimoog Model D quickly became an icon of the 1970s progressive rock and jazz rock scenes.

While not as versatile as the larger Moogs used in studios, the Minimoog was compact and affordable and better suited to the life of a touring musician. Incorporating a number of modules controlled by knobs, switches and wheels, players could make adjustments to the sound output in real time.

Used by such musicians as Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman and Chick Corea the Minimoog became the first synthesizer ever to become a "classic." Over 12,000 were made between 1970 and 1981.

Part of a collection of electronic equipment for musical composition, performance and recording, this example was owned and used by Canadian Paul Hoffert. Hoffert is a founding member of the Canadian jazz-rock band Lighthouse, and for a time worked in Hugh LeCaine's electronic music lab at NRC. He has been inducted into the Canadian Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and is a Member of the Order of Canada.
