Steady State Fate Positronic Transient Gate Sketchbook by VoltageCtrlR

"The compositions in this album feature live one take recordings of my experiments with the Steady State Fate Positronic Transient Gate eurorack synth module.

These synth patches give you an idea of the sonic possibilities that this module is capable of. The patch diagrams are visual expressions of the sounds heard on the album, some of the pieces started out as visual diagrams for me to interpret similar to the way a composer sits down and writes notation on staff paper.

Given the non linear nature of analog synth composing... some of these pieces capture the chaos and movement of the sounds. I’ve included patch notes for the people that don’t have interest in trying to decipher my diagrams. I encourage you to dissect and re interpret the patches in this sketchbook with your own artistic style and energy.

"This is the D-Lab Multiplexer (also known as Classic Multi-Plexer).
This is a wavefom synth box that is really cool, and very difficult to find.

Unlike many similar synth boxes, the Multi-Plexer has an input, not just an output, so it can be used with other guitar pedals or other synth modules, or maybe even a microphone!

I used it with guitar signal input, and also used it with other synth modules in front of it (such as the BBS module in my other auction). Fun to experiment with other pedals in the chain, like bitcrushers, octave, fuzz, delay etc. It likes to see a fairly strong guitar signal.

It's pretty difficult to explain what it sounds like, but there is a synth signal with depth and sustain that interacts with the input signal, and there is also a modulation effect with rate and frequency. It's like there's a phaser and a pulse effect hiding in there.

In my experience the Multi-Plexer was useful for adding some lower frequencies and overtones to other synths placed in front of it. It gave a whole new dimension to the BBS synth.

The only thing I don't like about this pedal is that when you turn the power off it does not pass signal.
To get around this problem I used a true bypass looper to engage and disengage it.

I had a "synth pedalboard" going built with a handful of wacky pedals that I am selling now.
I decided to part it out only because I need the cash.
This pedal has been tested and is in good working condition.

Pedal has moderate wear, some scratches and scrapes in the faceplate and finish,
most notably a ding just beneath the Rate knob on the edge.

Includes original manual, and RCA Y to 1/4" cable (originally included), I guess this is for using the Multi-Plexer with turntables, MP3 players and the like? I never used or tested the cable, but it looks like it should work just fine.
Uses 2 9V batteries for operation. Has a power toggle to preserve battery power."

"Viennese-bred producer Patrick Pulsinger has managed to leave his warped electronic signature on just about every style and tempo of dance music, including albums from Hercules And Love Affair and Elektroguzzi among others. Here, he demonstrates patching his bespoke modular synth at the 2013 Red Bull Music Academy in New York.

Originally from East Germany, Pulsinger moved to Austria while still a child, and got into producing acid techno after he moved to New York to escape the Austrian military service. On returning home, he set up the Cheap Entertainment label and began releasing his music under various pseudonyms, on imprints like Disko B, Compost Black Label, and Mo' Wax. Weaving together elements from across the spectrum of Detroit techno, Chicago house, funk, jazz, electro, soul, hip hop, and disco, Patrick has the ability to spin out a masterpiece. When he isn't working on compositions for film scores, collaborations with orchestras and choirs, or as co-operator of Vienna's Feedback Studio, he is also responsible for two remarkable albums in electronic music in recent years: Elektro Guzzi's self-titled exploration into organic techno, and the second album by Andy Butler's Hercules and Love Affair.

"Drum on: Drum until your dreams come true... Before I start this review, I have to make a little correction to the App Store description... Drum on is not a Drum Machine, but a Drum Pad... The sound quality is perfect, the sample length is too. The latency seems to be close to 0... You can choose to display 8, 12 or 16 Pads on the screen. You can set the Volume, the Pan individually for each Pad. Unfortunately you can't create a custom kit.. You can add Delay, Reverb or distortion on the Master out, and change the order of the effects in series, which is really cool. Note that a specific bus for the effects would be better... You can also import a track from your Music library, loop a section and change the speed. A metronome is also available. To conclude... Drum on has a really great sound, certainly one of the best sample qualities on the App Store in the Drum Pad and Drum Machine categories with iGog... The App is very very well done, but at this time it's missing some features like the possibility to record and share your performances to make it as a Killer Drum Pad, but is only the 1.0 version... So, I suppose that it will be in a future update... A Super Drum Pad."
