Ryk Miller Custom Hex Jupiter Storm doing the crazy noises while the two yusynth VCOs through the ARP filter clone take care of the low bass. I used the sequencer to program rhythms by connecting it to the FM of the LFO and using the LFO square wave as clock."

"This piece features the Make Noise Phonogene module in 5U format from Voltergeist. The Phonogene is a sampler module that allows you to process the sample in various ways under voltage control. All of the sounds (including clicks and pops) are generated from the short voice sample heard at the beginning. A DotCom S/H module is being used, with a triangle wave from a Q106, to generate control voltage to the vary-speed control of the Phonogene. No other modules were used to generate sounds. A tape echo pedal was used on the output of the STG mixer.
For those wishing to learn more there is a decent manual on the Make Noise site and Vince from Voltergeist made a very comprehensive demo video that is on EweTube."

I bought this almost 20 years ago from the keyboard player in Gorky Park, and it has sat in my professional recording studio ever since, and been used sparingly and lovingly. I just used it on a record earlier this year, and functionality was 100%. It includes the programmer, and a set of mods for each voice module, which allows you to control aftertouch, modulation, pitch and velocity. Look at the module pictures for the switches assigned. The keyboard can be used without the mods, normally, as I have always used it. The cosmetics of the synth are a 9.5, with the tolex being an 8. One case latch is missing form the front. Functionality is 100%..."

"Time lapse build of the Sonic-Potions LXR digital drum synthesizer and some messing around with it for the first time. All sounds come from the LXR and the Shruthi-1. The Shruthi is slaved to the LXR and is just playing the equivalent midi notes as the drum sounds. The LXR is being run through a hardwire RV-7 pedal (seen directly north of the LXR). I am sure that this is only scratching the surface of the LXR's capabilities."

Taming Lynch's Weirding Module

"Okay, I don't really have a weirding module but I can make believe, right?
I did use a new module from Encore Electronics on this. It is the Frequency Shifter and has a pair of vco's (SSL 1200 & 1130) as well as an AM radio step sequenced through channels being processed by it.
Plenty of reverb and delays as usual. The feedback effects are mostly high pitched vco's through vca's but there are a few moments where the Modcan 73B Dual Delay is excited in it's resonant filter mode by some of the signals regenerating in series with the FS down feedback setting. It is an interesting patch with self generating feedback on certain frequencies from the radio and vco's. Sort'a like the Weirding effect - right? Maybe not. At least I don't really have to worry about replicating the weirding module as it was a stunt by Mr. Lynch for the movie. I am practicing my metal JuJu so I can become like the shadow mouse of the second moon. I won't need the modular synth to make music with at some point. Just my name."

Anushri is a monosynth like no other. In addition to its analog VCO/VCF/VCA and digital modulation sources, it includes a fun and immediate note sequencer with step-by-step recording, and a gritty 8-bit drum machine with a truly original control interface.
Mutable Instruments did what no other synth manufacturer dared trying before: enrich the VCO with an auxiliary digital oscillator, which can be used as a FM source, a sync signal generator, or – if you don’t mind having some digital signal flow in the audio chain – an additional detuned audio source for fattening the VCO sound.
Built-in sequencer and arpeggiator
Anushri’s built-in arpeggiator easily transforms chords into complex basslines and acid patterns with accent and slides. But the real fun starts when you use the built-in sequencer. Its interface is refreshingly simple: press rec, input notes on the MIDI keyboard or press the rest/tie buttons, press rec to finish, then start. The sequence can even be transposed from the keyboard.

Original in interface, since it is “programmed”, or rather sculpted with knobs rather than x0x style switches and LEDs. How does it work? 2 knobs control morphing through different structures of drum patterns, and 3 knobs control how sparse/dense the pattern is for bass drum/snare drum/hi-hat, allowing you to create fills and variations at the twist of a knob.

In addition to its standard 6.35mm audio output / input, and MIDI connector (with sequencer/drum machine output), Anushri comes with twelve 3.5mm I/O connectors on its front panel, for easy integration with a modular setup.
