c64 games sid music compilation

Uploaded on May 12, 2011 einokeino303

"I compiled this music for a CD about a year ago so I could blast my friends with it during our summer gathering at my friends lakeside cabin. I now decided to share it. Most of this music has already been uploaded to YT in separate videos by various users. This compilation mostly focuses on later era c64 game music and doesn't try to be my favorite song list. It's a collection of few tunes I was listening at the time.

I thought it would be fun not to write down where the music was taken from so everyone has a chance to guess. If people seem interested I'll add the name of composer and the track at the bottom of this description after each correct guess. For now I'll just leave the track names blank. I was planning to give a thumb up for each correct guess, but it looks like that can't be done in YT.

All tracks were recorded from Sidplay and not from a real c64.

Moog Little Phatty Stage II and MFB Synth II improvisation

Published on Aug 16, 2014 MusicInclusive

"Improvisation / demonstration using the Little Phatty Stage II and the MFB Synth II - the only two sound sources in this little jam. The LPSII patch - SpringStretch - is part of a complete set for the LPSII currently under production for eventual release for purchase (details will be on the musicinclusive web site hopefully shortly)

There is a little reverb added on the LPSII but nothing else. The MFB Synth II has some phaser, chorus and reverb added, but the sweep is part of the patch programmed on the synth.

(The MFB Synth II is being played via a Fantom X8 keyboard - which you can see supporting it)."

Testing The Cocoquantus The Most Insane Synthesizer In The World!

"Testing The Cocoquantus The Most Insane Synthesizer In The World!

I went down to Baltimore, MD for two days to hang with my pal Jason Willett of Megaphone Records Label and the owner of True Vine Record Shop. We had a blast listening to music and talking about future projects.

While I was at True Vine, I tested out the Cocoquantus a Synthesizer/Sound Processor; the thing is unbelievable. I could spend hours, in fact did, running LPs through it and playing it all back via the stores speaker system. Not many record shops around would let you do that and chase away customers. But this is Baltimore and I think sales went up while I was having fun on the Cocoquantus."

"Now isn't this cute? Well it may look cute, but it sounds just like its big brother the OBXa, because it has the same voice cards. This is a 6 voice model with 56 presets, and it was upgraded with a MIDI in and thru port. This mod was done before I obtained the unit, so I don't know how extensive the MIDI implementation is, but I'm betting its just a basic note on/off system. I have tested it by controlling the unit from another controller and it works just fine. All voices, keys, knobs, and switches work correctly.

This unit also has CV gate in/outs. This unit is in very good condition cosmetically with a few very small scuffs here and there. For those unaware, this model was designed to be the less expensive baby brother to the OBXa. It is not programmable. You can however tweak all of the most commonly used parameters such as the filter, envelope, octave transpose, portamento, vibrato, pitch bend, etc in real time, you just can't save the changes. There are 56 presets in memory, most of which are actually really good the way they are (I think they are original OBX/OBXa presets), but are jumping off points for tweaking them however you like using the front panel controls..."

Ambika and TRON - Derezzed Cover

Published on Aug 16, 2014 SYNTHWAY

"Mutable Instruments Ambika + Genome MIDI Sequencer

This is a cover for TRON: Legacy Derezzed by Daft Punk. Using the iPad as a MIDI sequencer for MI Ambika.

In this video you can see a very nice aspect of the Ambika: it can act as 6 monosynths at the same time, recording each synth voice with a different MIDI channel, which is what I did for this video. As you can see, you're able to tweak several parameters from different section within the same page (Performance Page).

I'm tweaking the following parameters:
First row - osc1 para / osc2 para / osc2 pitch / bitcrush amount
Second row - filter cutoff / filter resonance / 2 others not used

I hope you enjoy it!

Before anyone asks... this is a 6x SMR4 Ambika."

08/2014 - Synth Controller Realtime-Tweaking ft. Microwave, Matrix-1000 and MKS-50

Published on Aug 16, 2014 stereoping

"A little song demo-ing my Synth Controllers. The video shows three of the controllers realtime-tweaking the sound of a Microwave, a Matrix-1000 and a MKS-50 all together while they get fired with notes by a PC-sequencer (Fruity Loops). The Matrix-1000 stutters a bit (we all know it's got some problems with SysEx) but i think it works quite well nevertheless, better than nothing.

The Synth Controllers are finally finished now in 08/2014 and you can purchase them from my webpage as a DIY assembly kit. Thanks to all the kind guys encouraging me to make a DIY-kit for the first K3 programmer i demo-ed here some years ago.

For detailed infos on the Synth Controller please visit my site. Also available are Controller-Editions for Korg DW-8000, Roland JX-8P and Kawai K3. More Editions to come. Contribute the poll on my site and help me to find out which editions people want next."

"The Korg Interface MS-02 was designed for the purpose of connecting Korg MS-Series synthesizers with other synthesizers using OCT/V system (like a Moog etc.). The Korg MS-02 provides you with a way to change the control signals of one system into the control signals used in the other system. In this way, it acts as an interface so that any two synthesizers can be used together, provided that the synthesizers are equipped with the conventional input and output jacks for control voltage and trigger or gate signals."

"Rare and sought after BLUE SH-101. This is as near a perfect example as you will find. It was bought as a birthday present in 1982 and after a couple of weeks of light use has been stored in the original box for the last 32 years (this has wear and tear markings, but is intact and comes with the polystyrene mouldings). It has never been used in anger and is totally unmarked, in the same condition as it came out of the factory. All keys and buttons appear to work perfectly. It comes with the user manual, original leads, modulation grip and suede leather 'ROLAND' embossed strap (totally unmarked) I wont bore you with the technical details as any serious buyer will already be well informed. I defy anyone to find a better example of this collectors piece."
