"Why is it every time I watch that movie I can't seem to get it out of my head for days? That background atmosphere just seems to bounce around in my skull as if I was in a constant trance. Seemed the only way to get it out of my head was to give it a go with some eurorack modules.

Modules used:

Mi Elements run through a Grendel Formant filter modulated by bubblesound uLFO. E350 Morphing Terrarium run through Korg MKP2s set on tape Echo. Speak & Read run through a ZDSP with Halls of Valhalla cart. The over all pumping sound is a MI Braids with a AD Sequencer 1 controlling pitch. The Sequencer 1 also controls pitch of e350 and the Elements."

"I tried to make 2 other videos this week but they did not work out. So lets revisit the Dark Star. Everything in this clip besides the pro 2 at the very end of the track was done on the Dark Star. Hope you enjoy :D The Video is more of a collage than me performing the tracks live. Being a black box with no keyboard its a little tricky to make a clip engaging I think."

"This Prophet-5 1000 has serial number 4601. One of the first fully programmable polyphonic analog synths, the Prophet 5 is the most classic synthesizer of the eighties! It is capable of a delightful analog sound unique to Sequential's Prophet series in which the P5 was King! Five voice polyphony - two oscillators per voice and a white noise generator. The analog filters, envelope and LFO all sound great and are extremely flexible. The P5 had patch memory storage as well, which scanned and memorized every knob setting for storing and recalling your sounds - a desperately needed feature at the time!

Rev 3 is the final version, and subsequent Rev 3.1, Rev 3.2 and Rev 3.3 each are capable of taking a MIDI retrofit. They're also capable of microtonal tuning. The Rev 3 uses Curtis chips instead of Rev 2's SSMs. The Rev 3 is considered the most reliable of all of the different versions and they had 120 memory patches."

"Mini demo of Minisizer played with Linnstrument. Slight background hiss is an artefact of the patch, Minisizer as such is not noisy at all. Stereo delay was added in Bitwig Studio while recording. I'm still learning how to play LS and studying music harmony so bear with my limited skills (stuck to minor scale here).
Minisizer is miniature yet powerful modular synth by Anyware Instruments."

The TTSH is pretty much identical to the early 70s grey faced model 2600P. It includes the built-in, stereo speakers (like the original). The lighted sliders help you easily see where the sliders are set for live peromance or in a dark room.

"Works good. But, it needs to be tuned frequently. The included Service Manual has the procedures on how to do this. Also includes "Musical Registrations" booklet, sales receipt for the two booklets and corrections to the Service Manual sheet.

It produces unique sounds unlike most synths. The closest I've heard is the ARP Pro-Soloist/DGX. But, the Syntorchestra also has additional polyphonic voices which the Pro-Soloist lacks.

"This machine is best for those who want to get 303-like patterns (it has accent just like the 303) and basslines with an SH-101 sound. If you can handle programming the notes into its sequencer you can have a lot of fun. It is used by Autechre, Future Sound Of London, Coldcut, The Human League, Underworld, Aphex Twin, LFO, Jedi Knights, Plastikman, Astral Projection, Sabres Of Paradise, Freddy Fresh, Jimmy Edgar, ProtoType 909 and Taylor 808 and countless folks like us.It sounds very much like the TB-303 and SH-101 bass synths. Sometimes considered the "poor man's 303". It has a very evolved form of TB-303 like programming (more like the MC-4) and SH-101 like controls of the VCO, VCF, VCA, LFO, Envelope and Mixer sections. The LCD display is a great feature too.

Programming the MC-202 can be done with the built-in monophonic sequencer and you can control it with CV/Gate converter.

The sequencer is actually a 2-channel CV/gate sequencer, with both channels being capable of driving a separate external synth. It's a very useful unit, also, for its DINsync capabilities; it can receive on one port, and send over two, and also can 'split' DINsync to branch a sync signal out to multiple devices."
