"Kinetic sound object. Model of artificial satellite of the Earth / inhabited sound art space station. The apparatus is a system for a research of sound swirling of anthroposphere. The device works in autonomous and extremely abstract way. Featuring a built-in radio FM transmitter, it transmits radio signals at frequency 99mHz being available for all inhabitants of the Earth.

"The sound signals are based on the generative sound processes created with Patchblocks synthesis systems and light sensor which reacts to change in position of the satellite in space following the relocation of the mass caused by change of solar cell position. The solar cells function as sensors and provide CV (control voltage) for changing the parameters of the sound program. The station also process and transmits a pre-recorded lecture by Sergey Kasich - 'Sound art community in the context of development of modern technologies'.

"Modifications:

10x Point Patch Bay.

Fantastic Sampler. The patch bay is bolted and re-enforced to the base of the unit to facilitate rack use.

The sample was recorded on my Juno 60 synth.. The circuit bent sounds are fairly intense, highly digital and tonally aggressive (at least in this demo).

The possibilities are endless."

via this auction

"Great old sampler from the U.S... this is the Turbo model, which offers two additional stereo sub-outs, an effects stereo submix, two 24x bit stereo effects processors, and S/PDIF digital I/O.

I was able to get at least 4 minutes worth of consecutive sampling time on the internal hard drive, and used it mostly to record longer sampled passages - which I then looped, reversed (a very cool on-board feature) and offered up to the rack interface to create out of this world soundscapes.

The rack interface mod (securely bolted in place) will change the tone/composition of anything stored in the internal drive, or on disc. Everything from beautiful (fluttering delays) to brutal (heavy bit crush distortion). The best part is that no matter how mangled your original sample becomes, it will almost always return to it's original form. This means that you can really go to town and experiment.

Unique item. Comes with original manual, power and scuzz cable.
I will include 5x formatted disks for external storage, as well as 2x patch cables as pictured."

"We are happy to announce that from 16th November we will have available our brand new module: VC ADSR

The VC ADSR is our take on the classic ADSR: now smaller, more powerful and user friendly.

You can see detailed information here.

This compact unit features voltage control for each stage with manual faders to improve usability, feel and aesthetics.

A unique feature of the VC ADSR is the gate outputs for each stage of the envelope offering an extra level of control over your patch!

Envelope generation can be triggered and controlled with the use of the panel mounted push button or with the trigger/gate input.
Control of the response curve between each stage of the envelope (from linear to logarithmic/exponential) is provided by a potentiometer.

For in-depth information on the module take a look to our user Manual and Demo Video.

Price will be 95€ for the Kit and 160€ for assembled version. See features video. [above]

ADSR is the first module that will come with our brand new Knurlies. A screw specially designed for eurorack to make re-arranging of your case a matter of minutes! [pictured below]

Just to note that international sendings will go out on Wednesday due to my movements tomorrow (UK posting should be fine).

No Christmas bonanzas planned (& definitely no damn Black Friday crap either) - though hopefully I'll get a few more of the current Red Boxes done up beforehand.
Feel free to give me a nudge to push me towards particular designs -> StereoCompress, CrossOverFilter, PEQ, PT Delay [SpringTanker & DRM1 moved to archive - no more!]
Best wishes for now & do enjoy a massive moon tonight if the clouds allow!

New Stand Alone Akai MPC In the Works?

A couple of prototype pics spotted on sequencer.de, who had the following to say about it:

"Akai has a new MPC Touch called MPC Live out – that’s rumours – but we have a manual, an FCC entry and these images – since it’s predecessor is a controller this might be the case here as well but more USB/MIDI Connectors – maybe they also consider the standalone MPC wasn’t a bad idea – they have been working and there was a rumour month ago that Akai planning a 'real' MPC without the need of a computer side by side. inMusic announced an announcement – so we will and might get more than this one?"

Korg Monologue analog mono synth synthesizer at the Brooklyn Synth Expo, Main Drag Music

Published on Nov 14, 2016 Expanding Sound

http://www.expandingsound.com

"sorry for the shakiness of the video, there was quite a long line for this one and nowhere to set up a tripod! the place was packed!

I was lucky enough to try out the new Korg Monologue this weekend. Main Drag Music hosted their annual Synth Expo at their store in Williamsburg Brooklyn, and this new, soon to be released synth made my must try list. An analog synth that can run on batteries? I had to hear it for myself. My time with the Monologue was limited unfortunately, as the building was packed and there was quite a line to try it. Luckily the folks over at Main Drag were gracious enough to allow me to plug in to get straight line audio, so you can get your own first impressions. I went to a blank user preset, wrote a quick little sequence, and got to work trying out some of the parameters. Its a fun synth to play; I am getting a little tired of the tiny Korg keys, and do miss the Minilogues delay, but it really did have a nice big strong presence that will cut through a mix for sure."
