The mere movement of the knob sets the RIT_M to edit existing beats until a time out of 1 loop plus a bit occurs from last knob movement, or tap on the Rhythm pad.
Beats can be added/removed (not shown) simply by either *not* moving the knob first or waiting for a timeout if was moved. Simple!"

Novation Circuit Mono Station Review

Percussa Considers Entering Eurorack with Super Wavetable Oscillator/Sampler & Controller

via Bert of Percussa:

"I'm considering creating a super wavetable oscillator / sampler eurorack module, and would like to see if anyone's interested in having one.

The module comes with a seperate 'controller' module which connects to it via a flatcable (no power necessary for the control module). The main module is called the SWO (super wavetable oscillator) while the "controller" module the SWO-R (super wavetable oscillator remote).

The main SWO module will be based on the quad-core ARM cortex A17 platform I've designed for the Percussa ENGINE synth (see

This processing platform is one of the fastest ARM platforms available for synthesis. With its 4 cores running at 1.8GHz, it achieves about 28,800 DMIPS of processing power. Common processors in Eurorack modules are the single core Cortex M4 and M7 processors, which at their highest clock frequencies of around 200MHz stay below 500 DMIPS. Less common processors in eurorack modules are the single core Cortex A8 at 1GHz, which offers around 2,000 DMIPS of processing power.

Because of the processing power it offers, this "super oscillator" will actually support running around 64 wavetable oscillators in parallel, and with sample rates up to 192kHz with 32 bit resolution. All processing is done using 32-bit floating point precision with 64-bit precision where necessary.

Pittsburgh Lifeforms Double Helix Oscillator Demo

Published on Jul 7, 2017 Perfect Circuit Audio

"These 3 patches are a sampling of the Pittsburgh Lifeforms Double Helix Oscillator's broad sound palette. The Double Helix is a dual complex oscillator with features beyond the typical Buchla-style Eurorack VCO. In addition to typical FM and wavefolding capabilities, it adds a voltage controlled CV routing section, a dedicated LFO, and a contour section for low pass gate effects.

In the first patch in this video the Double Helix is used as a complete synth voice with the Frap Tools Sapel's n+1 output used as a quantized pitch source. The second is a drone demonstrating various modulation routings with the switches on the VCR or voltage controlled routing section, which yield a broad range of timbres with simple controls. In the third patch the oscillator is used for more “west coast” style synthesis, creating peculiar sounds / effects utilizing both oscillators, the LFO, and pseudo-lowpass gate.

The Pittsburgh Lifeforms Double Helix Oscillator is a complex dual oscillator for both sound generation and modulation. The Primary Oscillator contains all of the classic waveshapes, with a waveshaper internally normalized to the output of the sine wave. A secondary oscillator provides square, sine and sawtooth waveshapes. Also included is a Contour control, utilizing a Low Pass Gate, able to be "struck" with a gate, or controlled via CV. At the bottom of the Double Helix is a set of voltage controlled Routers, used to send various CV to various destinations. With the Double Helix, a broad range of timbres is quickly accessible.

Tape Leaders A Compendium Of Early British Electronic Music Composers

via Tape Leaders

"A Compendium Of Early British Electronic Music Composers.
Published 16th June, 2016.

In the form of a richly illustrated compendium, Tape Leaders is an indispensable reference guide for anyone interested in electronic sound and its origins in Great Britain. For the first time a book sets out information on practically everyone active with experimental electronics and tape recording across the country, revealing the hidden history of early British electronic music.

With an individual entry for each composer, starting with Daevid Allen and going through to Peter Zinovieff, it covers everyone from the famous names of William Burroughs, Brian Eno and Joe Meek, to the ultra-obscure Roy Cooper, Donald Henshilwood and Edgar Vetter. There are sections for EMS and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, as well as amateurs, groups and ensembles that seriously experimented with electronics, including the Beatles, Hawkwind and White Noise.

Author Ian Helliwell draws on his experience and knowledge of electronic music, and after six years and dozens of interviews, has
amassed information never before brought to light in this fascinating subject. With a specially compiled 15-track CD of mainly unreleased early British tape and synthesizer works, this is an essential volume for anyone with an interest in the history of electronic music during the 1950s and 60s.
There is also an ebook version with electronic music extracts, to highlight the work of 25 of the featured composers.

050717 modular improv - dark dub?

"I have had problems with finding out what to do with Clouds. So I took some time and experimented it. I played a large string with bow and freezed the sound and tried all kinds of things what I could do with this sample. After some manual tweaking I added some modulation sources and was quite happy with the result. This is the result in the very beginning and it plays throughout the jam but later some other sounds can make it more difficult to identify. Other sounds are just some bass drone from Erica Synths Varishape through polivoks filter, Fast DPO fm percussive sounds, envelope from function and Hang input of that function is controlled by ADDAC complex random expander triggers.. BD is tiptop BD 808. Some additional noise from Benjolin.."
