Aquifex - Make Noise 0-coast & Erica Synths: Pico Sys 3 basic jam

SynthAddict

"Timbre variations on a 2-part ostinato from the 0-coast, mixed with a simple perc pattern on the Pico Sys 3.

Having fun getting all kinds of timbres out of the 0-coast, from beautiful, to edgy, and finally nasty. :-) Enjoy!"

Synthetic Sound Labs Introduces the TUBE VCA / TIMBRAL GATE IN MU FORMAT

via Synthetic Sound Labs / SSL

"The Russians Are Coming!

What happens when you apply 1950's era Soviet technology to a modern analog synth?  You get the new SSL 1530 Tube VCA / Timbral Gate module - a wild blend of vacuum tube warmth and distortion, along with an incredibly useful VCA that is so much more than the sum of its parts.

The 1530 uses miniature pencil-sized vacuum tubes that were developed and refined by the Russians over 60 years ago.  They are exceptionally low current and low voltage devices - so there's no need to generate the traditional high-voltage power supplies that are required for most other vacuum tubes.  Very cool stuff!

While it’s a surprisingly good VCA, it really shines when it’s over-driven - rounding and folding the input waveforms like nothing else available. In some modes, it’s prone to whacky self-oscillation that can be made to lock onto the harmonics of the input waveform in cascading howls. Totally adjustable and controllable.

In conjunction with and licensed by Ken Stone (CGS), Synthetic Sound Labs has further expanded on Ken's designs to include several other circuit enhancements to make your Russian dreams "Come True".

SSL has added LEDs behind the tube to visually emulate the warm glow of the filament, and pulsating blue LEDs that simulate tubes as they are being driven by control voltages. A custom acrylic window shows off the effects in true retro fashion.

SSL uses quality fiberglass-epoxy printed circuit boards, precision automated robotics and meticulous hand-crafted assembly assure years of trouble-free service.

Synthetic Sound Labs has been in the analog synthesizer business since 1973. The 1530 is yet another in SSL’s growing line of new synthesizer modules. Proudly made in the USA.

Pricing is $295 US. Available directly from SSL and through NoiseBug, Pomona, CA.

"I have been exploring the idea of Cybernetic processes in modular synthesis a bit this week. It follows seeing a really interesting series over on La Synthese Humaine’s YouTube channel

So, this patch might seem basic at first but actually its doing something quite interesting - it is using Cybernetics to play by itself

It is generating its own patterns by using feedback loops in the CV path and a non-linear CV circuit (in this case the Serge Wave Multiplier) to modify them

By setting the CV inputs on the returning feedback paths carefully, the patterns come to life and start to do things by themselves

In other words, there is just one single clock being used to generate the timing, and the variations are caused by the feedback path. There is no additional use of random generators or other clocks playing against each other, and no intervention from me

I have a lot more to explore, especially by using the Cybernetic principal on other systems like the Buchla, the Modcan or the Emu Modular - all of which have provisions for achieving self-playing patches using these ideas"

Fracto Solum is a simple and easy-to-use clock divider/multiplier. Patch a clock to the In jack, dial in a fraction with the encoder, and you’re off! CV over ratio opens up an extra level of clocking and sequencing power. FS also includes a mute feature, a reset input, x2 and /2 outs that further divide and multiply the selected ratio by 2, and a BOC output that outputs a trigger each time the division starts a cycle.

International friends: shipping from the US to other countries remains unpredictable and may take excessively long. We ship anywhere, but consider supporting a local retailer if you have concerns (or even if you don’t!).

Stealaes Synamodec - Phase shifter with delay processor eurorack demo

Dziam Bass

This is the first Stealaes Synamodec post. New maker, new module.

"Hello all
today I have a demo of the Stealaes module from Synamodec, this is a phase shifter module with a built-in delay processor.
The module has quite a vintage character and that's why I showed it for production, like the 4/8/12 stage which saturates the signal with a nice phazer effect. For this fun with deph and rate so that you can hear the effect.
then delay for modulation, sometimes for reflections typically delay but mostly for delay modulation for the main modulation of the signal.
It's quite a simple demo in the case below, also only on the wave with VCO.
in this demo I used the VCO GR11 tag from Rebach and the AJH synth Gemini 2412 filter for full anal voice where Stealaes complements it with its vintage character.
for me it's a great module but now, when you order this module, you will get the MIx Divider module for free, so it's worth checking the Synamodec website.
It is worth noting that the module is handcrafted in a retro 70's style like the first modular modules and not on a printed pcb."

KORG KPR-77 Analog Drum Machine 1982 | HD DEMO

AnalogAudio1

"(c) 2020 by AnalogAudio1

The KORG KPR-77 is a programmable analog rhythm box. DIN sync, TRIG OUT jacks and other nice features. The KPR-77 was the first programmable rhythm machine from Korg. It has a nice sound, especially the snare is similar to the Korg KR-55's snare. It competed with Roland TR-606.

In the intro music you hear the KPR-77 reverb from Lexicon MPX-500."

YAMAHA DX5 Synthesizer - Sounds, Patches & Presets | FM Synth Demo

synth4ever

"Yamaha DX5 FM synthesizer demo featuring various sounds, patches & presets. This Yamaha DX5 synth demo showcases various patches including piano & electric piano, leads, bass, pads, brass, textures, noise and FX. Some reverb & delay effects from Eventide Space and Timefactor pedals.

The Yamaha DX5 is a vintage classic and rare 6-operator FM synthesizer from 1985-1987. It is essentially two Yamaha DX7 synthesizers in one case, and just a small step below the incredibly rare flagship Yamaha DX1 (it does not have the DX1's polyphonic aftertouch, algorithm LEDs or the extra wooden paneling, but is otherwise nearly identical).

With two Yamaha DX7 synths in one unit, the Yamaha DX5 features 76 keys, 32-voices of polyphony and excellent bi-timbral split and layering capabilities (A and B layers with 16-voices each). It also has 64 performance memories which can be loaded or saved to cartridge (the DX7 has only one manual performance memory), lots of patches, and XLR outputs for improved audio quality.

The Yamaha DX5 has an onboard LFO with multiple waveshaepes (Sine/Square/Tri/SAW up/SAW Down/Random), 6 Envelope generators with 8 parameters each and Portamento as well. FM synthesis programming on the Yamaha DX5 is fairly easy, as the control surface exposes most of the functions in a button-per-function format which reduces the menu-diving required.

Sound-wise the Yamaha DX5 is great for classic FM tones and the presets really bring you back to the mid-80s. With programming it can take you into new sonic territory. The sound quality from the DX5 has a nice texture, and helps give it a distinct tone which is warm and full for an FM synth. In this demo I tried to showcase a variety of Yamaha DX5 sounds, patches and presets in a basic sense, and also added some effects here and there to enhance them further.

Overall, the Yamaha DX5 is an amazing FM synth if you really love the sound of the Yamaha DX7, as it takes it to the next level. The Yamaha DX5 is fairly rare these days and commands high prices on the second hand market, but if you are into FM synthesis and you come across a DX5, don't hesitate to pick it up."
