Desktop Conversion Kit for KORG wavestate / opsix / modwave

video upload by Daniel Gilbert

"Transform your Korg wavestate, opsix, or modwave into a sleek aluminum desktop synth.

Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...

Tall Dog Electronics presents a user-installed kit to turn your Korg keyboard synthesizer into a beautiful desktop synth. We include all the parts and tools necessary to perform this conversion yourself. The process is also fully reversible, so you can return the unit to its original keyboard enclosure if needed.

Our enclosure reduces the footprint of your synth to roughly half its original height and depth by deleting the short keyboard and replacing the plastic case with a machined aluminum body."

Nord Electro 6D Can Do Vintage & Lofi Synth [Sounds Only Demo] |No Talking|

video upload by gstormelectro

"Audio + Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2023

The Nord Electro 6D. It's not just for organ/piano/EP sounds. There's a plethora of sick vintage + esoteric + obscure + lofi synth sounds in the Synthesizer Engine. Yes, it's not actually synthesis but rather samples. But IMHO very very nice samples very well done. A lot of these samples aren't even assigned in the factory presets! It's up to you to load them up and give them a whirl. And there's even more to download into the synth on the Nord website. Today my playing is not really up to par for me, but hopefuly you'll still enjoy auditioning these tasty sounds.

I have an album coming out May 23, 2023. Be sure to follow my bandcamp page https://gstormelectro.bandcamp.com/

Vice Virga - Great fill maker for drums

video upload by John Schussler

"In an earlier Beat Mangler video I tried out the Jam Jam from Noise Engineering, and had a hard time getting what I wanted out of it. Turns out what I really needed was a Vice Verga. That's arrived, and is clearly the answer to the question: 'What if you want some interesting drum fills on a regular basis, but don't want to do it manually?'

I used a 2hp Burst in this patch, but I'm guessing if I read more of the Pam's manual there's probably a way to do it entirely within Pam's.

Either way, Vice Verga is a great fill maker for drums."

Moog Prodigy Vintage Analog Synthesizer w/ External Control, CV/Gate SN 10663

"1983 Moog Prodigy model 336A monophonic synthesizer in excellent condition and in perfect working order, featuring the external control section for CV/Gate and MIDI/CV interfacing. Produced from 1979-84, this short-lived synthesizer has become very popular as a bass synth in techno and electronic music; used by artists including Fatboy Slim, Depeche Mode, and The Prodigy (who even named themselves after it). Only 11,000 were ever made, and this example (with a serial near the end of the production range) dates to late '83.

The Prodigy features a dual voltage-controlled oscillator design, and this versatile synth delivers classic analog sounds with controls that are both user-friendly and versatile. Oscillator 1 has sawtooth, triangle, and pulse waveforms, and Oscillator 2 has sawtooth, triangle, and square waveforms. The waveforms can be detuned up or down by more than a fifth for thick pads and atonal sounds, and the oscillators can also be synchronized; in sync mode, the pitch wheel alters the tonality of the pitch as opposed to the pitch itself, enabling roaring synth leads.

There are Oscillator Mod, Mixer, Filter, Filter Contour, and Loudness Contour control sections, as well as Tune and Slide Wheels. The Prodigy features a genuine Moog four-pole 24dB/octave lowpass filter (the Emphasis knob), A/D/S envelope generator, and LFO with square or triangle waveforms and routing to the VCF, VCO, or both. The synth features both Pitch and Mod wheels. The back panel has a notably expanded range of controls compared to early examples of the Prodigy, and the external control section includes S Trigger in/out, Keyboard in/out, Oscillator in, VCF in, Sync in and Hi Level audio out. These additional features are essential for interfacing with CV/Gate or MIDI/CV devices.

The synth retains its original end caps which show moderate wear, and the bass-side end cap has a small chunk missing out of the back bottom corner. All of the original knobs and switches are present, and the graphics are clean. Cosmetic wear includes a number of minor nicks and scratches on the enclosure, largely relegated to the back and sides."

DEMO of GM.LAB X1000

video upload by Genuine Soundware

"GM.LAB X1000 is a digital virtual anlog monophonic synthesizer inspired by the Jen SX1000. It's basically a nice experiment that uses one single Raspberry Pi Pico board (RP2040 CPU) and a I2S DAC. The CPU is capable of scanning the panel using multiplexers and generate the whole synthesizer algorithm at the cost of a lower sampling rate. Can be bought pre-assembled or as a do-it-yourself kit.
Visit www.gmlab.it for more details."

NAMM 2023 Rhodes V8 Pro - Official Laser guided sample Instrument

video upload by sonicstate

"We spoke to Dan from Rhodes, who introduced the V8 Pro, the first official Rhodes software that encompasses a deeply sampled and modeled Mark 8. The V8 Pro engine is running 30,000 samples with up to 127 laser guided velocities per note, resulting in an unprecedented depth. The UI has been designed by Axel Hartman and the front panel is a blown-up version of the Walnut Market.
Rhodes has gone to great lengths to create super-authentic software that feels like a real instrument. The V8 Pro also includes a V8, a lower-priced model with a more limited feature set.

The V8 Pro has modeled analog effects from the Mark 8, including a resonant mid-range EQ and a unique varipan circuit that stands for variable panning, giving you all the classic panning sounds, just like the Mark 8. The V8 Pro also has different wave shapes for the panning to achieve different feels.
Rhodes has added sync buttons for all the time-based effects, so you can sync to your DAW's internal tempo or incoming midi clock. You can also assign every single control to the midi CC, making it easier to get into the performance with the instrument. More info on the V8 Pro and the Mark 8 can be found on the Rhodes website.

"For the first time, the hallowed sound and feel of the acclaimed Rhodes MK8 electric piano at your fingertips in any recording studio or live performance. The V8 is a deeply multi-sampled and modelled, hyper-realistic version of the Rhodes MK8, capturing all the nuance and character of the flagship electric piano. The only official software to carry the Rhodes name, the V8 is the final destination for musicians looking to augment their productions with the timeless beauty of ‘The True Rhodes Sound’."

The ORANGE VOC 3 and Classic ORANGE algorithms give you the state-of-the-art ORANGE VOCODER algorithm, as well as its digital classic counterpart from the original plug-in from 1998. The unique MR 1st order, MR 2nd order and MR 3rd order Multi-Resolution modes use wavelet transform mathematics to provide frequency dependent time resolution, and sounds ranging from extremely natural to completely synthetic, while Colorize applies the Modulator's phase response in addition to its frequency amplitude data, for a wild cross-synthesis effect."

NAMM 2023 UVI - Quadra Traveller and Percussion Factory with Venus Theory

video upload by sonicstate

"UVI showcased their latest soundware products, including the Quadra Traveler and Percussion Factory, as demonstrated by Cameron, also known as Venus Theory.

The Quadra Traveler is part of the Quadra series and features four instrument layers with an XY grid for blending between them. Each layer has its own amp, filter, and envelope controls, as well as individual effects and arpeggiator with multiple pages for different step types and panning. The library includes a wide variety of world instruments, from electric and acoustic basses to keyboards, metal and wood strings, synths, transient noises, and more, allowing for endless sound design possibilities.

Percussion Factory, is based on eight instrument layers that can be selected from a wide range of percussive sounds.
