Vintage Korg Blackboard Synthesizer Played Vertically! Giant MS-20

video upload by Analogue Solutions

"Here's a clip of the vintage Korg Blackboard synth played vertically (wall-hung)! If you've never tried playing a keyboard vertically you don't know the struggle -- however, Owen did great with this tough part of the song."

Make an Entire Track with Just ONE Module?! Make Noise XPO + @redstripedownofficial

video upload by Perfect Circuit

"In this video, our friend redstripedown walks us through his process developing an entire track using the Make Noise XPO as the sole sound source.

Using Ableton, and Elektron Digitakt, and a Eurorack modular synthesizer system, redstripedown turns Make Noise's stereo analog oscillator into an onslaught of pads, glitchy percussion, growling bass, animated leads, and much more—a testament both to the oscillator's flexibility and his own skill.

Make a Eurorack drum machine in minutes with Traffic by Jasmine & Olive Trees

video upload by Tom Churchill

"This video is about Traffic, by Jasmine & Olive Trees, a new maker from Barcelona. Traffic is a trigger-based CV controller that makes it really simple to set up three different drum or percussion sounds in a macro-oscillator like Mutable Instruments’ Plaits or Noise Engineering’s Basimilus Iteritas Alter, and then control them with individual triggers from a sequencer. But it’s definitely not limited to those modules, and in this video I’ll show you a few ways I’ve been using it with other sound sources.

This video isn’t sponsored; I bought the module myself and have no affiliation with Jasmine & Olive Trees. You can find out more about it at https://jasmineandolivetrees.com/prod..."

"Trigger-based CV controller with random modes.

Imagine having 3 triggers that will instantly set a BIA or Plaits as a kick, snare, and hi-hat. Using Traffic, you can effectively control multiple sounds from a single oscillator using triggers, much like a preset selector.

Traffic features 3 rows of 3 knobs, with each row having an output for the values of the knobs. You can select the active column of knobs using the trigger inputs. The three outputs are simultaneous, making Traffic a 3 channel controller or sequencer. Plus, the trigger sum output sends a trigger whenever there is a trigger in any of the inputs, ensuring seamless synchronization of triggers and CV values."

Expert Controller for Yamaha VL1

video upload by Robert Skerjanc

"Demonstration of the hardware prototype. It can edit the complete physical model of the VL1. Musically not much enlightening, but showing some first impressions. See also my home page: https://vl1.skerjanc.de/?p=23"

"This is my vision of an ideal hardware controller for the famous Yamaha VL1 synthesizer. After my experience of making a HW controller for the FS1R, I decided to create an new user interface that deals easily with hundreds of parameters to control this beast. The case is designed as a 19″ rack mount, the same size as the VL1m module. As the name implies, it can edit all physical modelling parameters as you were able with the Yamahas Expert Editor for Macs.

Individual dials for all parameters rendered quite impossible, so I found a way to divide the parameters into several pages of 16 parameters and show the content on an OLED displays.

You have 7 groups on the front panel: Global, Control, Effect, Driver, Physics, Pipe and Modifier. Each group has several buttons and LEDs to indicate the current selected parameter page. In the next image you see that the page for editing breath noise and excitation is selected, and the 16 dials are assigned to the belonging parameters.

The dials are endless encoders with haptic clicks. The displays are divided in two halves, upper display half describes the parameter name and value for the upper dial and vice versa.

That’s it: you have a good overview about the whole context and you can easily dive into all parameters."

You can find additional pics and details at https://vl1.skerjanc.de/?p=23.

Triglav Modular Clockwork Card Jam

video upload by DARK SPARKLER

"An exploratory jam with the amazing Triglav Clockwork Card. I’m using the specialty CLIX mode and the card’s internal clock. This allowed me to change the pulser’s decay length with random voltages making for a more dynamic “envelope” to drive the LPG. Some kind of delay device was used, but I can’t remember what it was."

"This synth performs exceptionally well. Every key is highly responsive, and all controls, functions, and tones are functioning nicely. The remarkable sound of this iconic synthesizer is truly incredible, providing instant inspiration. Overall, the instrument is in excellent working condition, with everything operating flawlessly. The previous owner took the initiative to have the synth re-capped in 2010, ensuring its optimal performance. It's worth noting that upon initial power-up, it takes approximately 15-25 minutes for all the voice cards to "warm-up" and stabilize the tuning.

PHYSICAL CONDITION: Excellent - The esteemed CS-60 synthesizer has been meticulously maintained and preserved. While there are a few minor scuffs and light wear present on the exterior, every switch, fader, and key remains in pristine condition, showcasing expert craftsmanship. The overall physical condition of the synth is excellent, further highlighting its exceptional care and attention to detail."

"This Jupiter-6 synth exhibits a few minor scuffs, primarily located on the side panels. But otherwise is extremely clean upon close inspection. Notably, this particular unit is equipped with the Europa Mod, which includes an intriguing feature of magnets that can be laid over the top panel. This colorful addition enhances its visual appeal, making it a rare and captivating sight. In terms of physical condition, the synth is very nicely intact and is in excellent shape."

"This is an analog synthesizer/sequencer. It sounds very much like the TB-303 and SH-101 bass synths. Sometimes considered the "poor man's 303". It has a very evolved form of TB-303 like programming (more like the MC-4) and SH-101 like controls of the VCO, VCF, VCA, LFO, Envelope and Mixer sections. The LCD display is a great feature too."

Ellitone E [64] Synthesizer / Music Inspiration

video upload by Emiliano Escalante

"There is no real way to give a good description of this Synth. Best thing would be to look it up. It looks like a game pad and in a way, like a game, you'll either come up with something incredible and win, or end up with something terrible and lose. I find the E[64] to be the perfect device to come up with musical ideas with the random sequences of notes it creates on each start-up. It is definitely not for everyone, but it is also for everyone. LOL. I love it. It brings inspiration every time I power it up. The E[64] is no longer in production. Enjoy!"

DYNO / testing out the Alesis QUADRAVERB / JORANALOGUE and co / eurorack

video upload by BRiES

"I'm testing out a newly aqcuired Alesis Quadraverb which - together with the Lexicon MPX500 - will take care of the spaciousness from now on.

The Joranalogue Audio Design modules take care of most of the gating and transposing of the random sequence. I've found BIAS2 to be a really versatile little unit, in this patch I used the bottom half as a precision adder for pitch and the top part I'm using to route -2.5V to STEP 8 so it only generates negative CV. ORBIT 3 modulates a filter and PIVOT 2 which routes a saw or alternatively a triangle to DELAY 1. One GENERATE 3 is on modulation duty for the time parameter of DELAY 1.
ROUTE 4 is an awesome addition to any sequence: it let's you automate (or randomize) gating and transposing of several sequences. FILTER8 is used as a the final filter in the chain (instead of using a VCA).

I'm pretty pleased with the verbs on the QUADRAVERB. Hainbach was right about this unit, it does 'sit' well in the mix."
