The Dexibell Vivo S10 and Vivo S10L stage pianos are revolutionary performance instruments making use of Dexibell's Advanced T2L (True to Life) sampling and modeling technology and offering a choice of two unique keyboard actions. These groundbreaking instruments also include Dexibell's hands-free motorized drawbar faders that replicate the feel and experience of the world's most famous organs, and can be applied to all tones and layers on the keyboard. Three keyboard parts, reverb with 24 different types, master EQ, and six independent DSP effects (two for each single part) create a massive performance tool at home and on stage, while sound and effect recall use "Seamless Changes" technology to allow smooth transition from one sound to another.

Vivo S10 features an 88-key progressive hammer action with authentic hybrid wood and ivory feel keys with aftertouch for additional performance expressivity. The Vivo S10L stage keyboard is designed as a lightweight alternative with a 76-key synthesizer action.

Additional Parts

"Second Video Demonstrating how Analog the P12 can sound. exceptionally good at the dreamy moog like leads and warm pads.

This Patch 'SM Pads n Arps' - is programmed in split mode Pad on lower keys and lead / Arp on the top. Extremely expressive and one for sitting back and enjoying a jam. I used Specular Tempus reverb on this, along with the P12 modulated delays set in stereo.

Press release follows:

Next-Generation Serial GK Digital Interface and Powerful New Guitar and Bass Synthesizer with the Roland ZEN-Core Sound Engine

Los Angeles, CA, July 20, 2023 — BOSS announces the new Serial GK system and the GM-800 Guitar Synthesizer, a powerful and versatile product that elevates guitar and bass synthesis into a new age of natural playability and boundless creative range. Driven by the newly developed Serial GK digital interface, the advanced ZEN-Core engine in the GM-800 unlocks any sound imaginable—from acoustic instruments to classic and modern synths—while high-performance DSP delivers tracking stability and expressive scope never before possible. Users can also expand the GM-800 experience with a growing selection of ZEN-Core content on Roland Cloud. In addition, BOSS has released a variety of complementary products for the GM-800 and Serial GK system, including GK-5 and GK-5B Divided Pickups for guitar and bass, BGK-15 and BGK-30 connection cables, and GKC-AD and GKC-DA GK Converters for interfacing with classic 13-pin GK products.

GM-800 Guitar Synthesizer
BOSS and its parent company Roland have been the worldwide leaders in guitar synthesizer innovation for nearly five decades, beginning with the revolutionary GR-500 system in 1977. Expanding and elevating the concepts behind many historic Roland GR products, the GM-800 provides guitar and bass players with cutting-edge creative tools and access to sounds typically only available with keyboard-based instruments.

The GM-800 is built around the expandable ZEN-Core Synthesis System, the sound source found in professional Roland products like the JUPITER-X and FANTOM keyboards and ZENOLOGY software synthesizer. ZEN-Core combines modern PCM synthesis and advanced modeling to provide an infinite playground for sonic discovery. With over 1200 Tones, GM-800 users can play everything from pianos, organs, and orchestral instruments to classic Roland synth sounds like the JUPITER-8, JUNO-106, and many others.

Perkons through four flavors of filth

video upload by Richard DeHove

"Two Perkons patterns playing three kits tested through four pedals: the WMD Geiger Counter, Fairfield Circuitry Roger That, Darkglass B3K and JPTRFX Add Violence*. I contemplated cutting this down to a four minute highlight video but I think there's real value in showing the actual process of tweaking to get the best sounds. But maybe I'm wrong. What do you think? Show the best bits only, or show the process?

In any case you can see in both the Geiger Counter and Roger That where tiny adjustments can have profound effect on the output and it's pretty clear they get the biggest range of different and usable sounds. The two "small" pedals really only have a single core effect and can only get relatively modest variations from that. But horses for courses. To balance the varying volume levels I had to be quite heavy-handed on the limiting, so some of the louder sections have been squashed (Fabfilter Pro-L and Cockos ReaLimit). Generally the Geiger Counter had the most consistent volume and was most easily adjusted on the pedal itself, whereas Roger That and Add Violence tended to be most difficult to tame. * NB: I've adjusted the internal trimpots on Add Violence and they have a huge effect on the sound. I've no idea how far I've diverged - for better or worse - from the original values! (I must do a video where I adjust these in real time. It's such a shame they aren't actual knobs).

48 patches for Animoog made for keyboard players! Animoog is already a classic. It is a relatively simple synth with a unique timbre that at times can remind of old wavetable synths. Can it sound strange? For sure! Can it do crazy sound effects? Definitely! Can it sound musical and be played with an external midi keyboard? Let’s find out! The idea behind this soundset was to use Animoog as a sound module that is played with a midi keyboard. The patches make extensive use of modulation wheel, velocity and aftertouch, bringing Animoog to a different level of musicality!

CHROMA POLARIS vs AKAI AX60: Live Sound Demo and Comparison!

video upload by Vulture Culture

"Tonight we're checking out two "cold"-sounding vintage synths from the 1980's LIVE! We're comparing the Fender Chroma Polaris, a 6 voice VCO analog synth and the Akai AX60 and 6 voice VCO analog synth! We'll start with the oscillators, check out the filters, the LFO's, arpeggiators, sequencers and all the other features of these two synths.

A big reason these synthesizers sound so similar is they both use Curtis Electromusic Specialties aka CEM chips. These "synths-on-a-chip" components were used as far back as the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 and Oberheim OB-Xa. They're known, especially the later chips, for sounding "cold" as far as analog synths go.

Specifically the Akai AX60 uses 6 CEM3394 chips, which contain a VCO, VCF and VCA on one chip. The Chroma Polaris uses 6 CEM3374 Dual VCO chips and 6 CEM3372 Filter, Mix and VCA chips, which is the same chipset used by the legendary Oberheim Matrix 12.

The biggest difference in terms of sound is the Polaris has two VCO's per voice but the AX60 only has one - BUT the AX60 has a trick up its sleeve. It has PWM on ALL waveforms, which lets you fake a detuned sound, as well as sounding beautiful in it's own right.

I'm really excited to see which of these two synthesizers reign supreme tonight! Scum one, scum all and scum as you are!"
