Keys - Novation Circuit Tracks Pack by Techtronix

video upload by Isotonik Studios

AVAILABLE HERE: https://isotonikstudios.com/product/k...

"Ever wanted a real sounding piano Patch on the Circuit tracks? Or maybe an acoustic guitar bass, that could pluck more if you hit it harder, and yet retain its low end autheticity. Keys brings an end to this search allowing you create realistic sounding acoustic music such as rnb and soul and a lot more. no more trying to work out a way to get a piano in your sample pool.

Using old synthesis techniques such as La Synthnesis, Freqency modulation, and slight wavetable manipulation, it is possible to create the slight nuances that make things resonate in an authentic way and play naturally on a keyboard or circuit Keys does this in order to bring you traditional sounding acoustic instruments.

Featuring a huge amount of authentic sounding instruments in the patches and crackle samples, aswell as chord samples. This pack makes it very easy to create your own version of an nostalgic track in any genre and add that flavour to sound.

With over 16 sessions boasting 9 different genres, Keys leaves no stone unturned transforming the circuit tracks in to something beyond what it was intented for. you will find many new techniques in the sessions such as shifting steps, swing, a new scale probability trick if you can find it!?!?

Velocity sensitivity is key here, please make sure to turn it on.

You will find that if you play softly on bass guitar, it is more subby, but if you play hard or programme in loud notes you will here the twang. similarly on all live instruments, velocity plays a big part.

Limited to 250 copies Digipak CD

https://dinrecords.bandcamp.com

This new release from synthesist Dave Bessell sees him completing a quartet of albums loosely based on the Greek philosophy of the Four Elements, namely Fire, Water, Earth and Air. There’s certainly no doubting that “Chromatic Lightning Cage” with its vivid cover is referencing Fire. At times the ghost of Amon Tobin and Nils Frahm wander through the album but mostly it has its own distinctive voice which draws on a whole variety of influences. This one will repay repeated listenings. Lovers of Electronica, Downtempo, Ambient and Soundtracks will find much to admire in this new album and the music once again showcases the unique talent of this highly individual musician.

"The intro bassline came after noodling with volca keys sequenced by my old and trustworthy mc505. I programmed a basic beat. It wasn't going anywhere in the beginning but instantly things started to take shape and I grasped my minilogue to play the main riff progression layered with a pad from my virus TI. Then I started singing the chorus and the main body of the track was almost ready . This song almost wrote itself from an initial moment of machine frustration . That's why we never give up when things don't go well."

"Spectrums Symphony", Moog Matriarch, DFAM, Arturia Microfreak, Minifreak, AudioThing Noises

video upload by Vöstok-one

"When the Arturia Microfreak drives the Moog DFAM. That gives you something more musical than just a groove machine. So much to explore with this Moog if you take time with it.

This electronic symphony reminds me this strange landscape we found lost in the middle of Mongolia. The specter of a lost serenity, absorbed by the sky.

I hope you will enjoy this song as much as I had fun playing it."

"Secret Softly Sigh" Moog Matriarch, AudioThing Noises, Arturia Minifreak, DSI MophoX4

video upload by Vöstok-one

"Ambient and cinematic, drop into the black sand shore of mystery.
Moog Matriarch Lamentation and Audiothing Noises for the strange and mystic feeling. The Arturia Minifreak for this ... I don't know ... chord generative and the Mopho X4 for the pad.
Have fun with this almost 10 minutes of dark drone endless reverie shadows dance.

Verse 1)
Upon the blackened shores, where whispers roam,
Where windswept tales are carved in ancient stone.
In the misty veil, secrets softly sigh,
Beneath the northern sky, where dreams can fly.

(Chorus)
Black sands beneath my feet,
In Iceland’s embrace, where mysteries meet.
Where the wind’s wild song entwines with the sea,
In this land of endless reverie.

(Verse 2)
Through the veils of fog, a world unseen,
Where shadows dance and memories convene.
In the echo of waves, a melody untold,
In the heart of nature, where stories unfold.

(Chorus)
Black sands beneath my feet,
In Iceland’s embrace, where mysteries meet.
Where the wind’s wild song entwines with the sea,
In this land of endless reverie.

(Bridge)
In the depths of the night, where stars ignite,
In the soul of Iceland, where magic takes flight.
Through the misty morn, the secrets call,
In this timeless land, where wonders enthrall.

(Chorus)
Black sands beneath my feet,
In Iceland’s embrace, where mysteries meet.
Where the wind’s wild song entwines with the sea,
In this land of endless reverie.

(Outro)
In the whispers of the wind, I find my song,
In Iceland’s embrace, where I belong.
Forever bound to this ancient land,

I hope you will enjoy this song as much as I had fun playing it."

Ekzil - "Ignition sequence" : Circuit Track / Volca keys / Volca bass

video upload by Geoffroy AULAGNER

"I decided to use my Volca Keys to the maximum of these capacities.
I find these possibilities very interesting.. I particularly love the unison mode, with portamento. It sounds really crazy 🤩 (check at 01:20)
It gives the possibility to transform a chords progression to a catchy melody 😃

As always, I try to make my compos sound professional with relatively inexpensive hardware.. I hope you find this video inspiring. Give me your feedback in the comments, It really motivates me to continue 🙏

Novation Circuit Tracks: Drums, bass, organ, arpeggio
Volca Keys: Lead
Volca Bass: Bass

POLARITY - MODULAR SYNTHESIZER LIVE PATCH EXPLAINED

video upload by A Last Picture From Voyager

"Recently I received a clone of the 'rings' from mutable instruments to replace my 'telharmonics', and an 'MFX' multi effect from ALM. After a few test patches I dove into a melody that swept me away. And from a melody, I made a complete piece to which I just had to add a bass line to bring depth. As always, I tried to explain this patch with some subtitles. The way I use the filter for this patch is well explained (with other techniques) inside a XAOC Zagrzeb dedicated video from @MonotrailTechTalk Don’t hesitate to ask for more in the comments."

Kilohearts Phase Plant - "Space Explorations" (50 Exclusive Presets)

video upload by LFOstore

"Phase Plant is an impressive next-gen software synthesizer with classical subtractive synthesis, wavetables, sample player and granular algorithm on board! It allows you to connect an unlimited number of modules together quickly and conveniently, and also includes advanced effects chains, making sound design incredibly fun.

In this soundbank, LFO Store’s sound designer, Otto K. Schwarz, made the most of PhasePlant's potential by creating an exclusive 50 multi-layered presets, each with its own unique modulation features. Here you will find atmospheric pads, bright plucks, exciting cosmic leads, powerful sequences, and even more. These sounds are perfect for different styles of electronic music, as well as for scoring soundtracks.

Each preset is modwheel - assigned and has 4 to 8 additional modulation knobs - this allows you to modulate and customize the sounds to the needs of your own musical works. Each preset is accompanied by a philosophical quote for inspiration. Explore the capabilities of the Phase Plant synthesizer and let your musical compositions reach a new quality level!"

XAOC Leibniz Binary Subsystem

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"In episode 1 [posted here], it was fun to dive in. Then I found out that the system isn't just a matter of putting all modules in a case, wiring up the I/O on the back and get to work. It's modular (duh) so it's more a matter of recipes where the order of modules isn't fixed. Having all modules in a case doesn't exactly help to understand them either, there's just too many variables and it's extremely easy to make a wrong connection with the 'pale pink stripe' down or up on the LBZ ribbon cables. You really need to double check and then again. XAOC, make them red. Please.

In this episode I tried to get the Rostock module to work. It's a bucket brigade 'delay' with 64 memory locations. Or a shift register. Anyway, it allows you to accumulate values from the bus and store them so you can loop it. However, with a clock running at 2 mHz you don't hear 64 bytes when millions come by. If it's even audible it's in the nanosecond range. I had to slow down to actually see the module work.

XAOC has provided cool patch examples in the manual and I focused on delaying/looping rhythms with Rostock, Lipsk (bit inverter) and Poczdam (router/binary output). I am also using Odessa in the video, which is a truly amazing VCO which also has a Leibniz header on the back to control partials with bitmaps. I absolutely LOVE this system and can't wait to get started on episode 03."

Pics of the inside below.

"Original model MidiMoog.. Not very many of these made. This was one of SE's first builds. These few MidiMoog's had an original vintage Moog MiniMoog OSC board.. this is one of those.

It all works great.. Thesis Audio completely went through it a couple of years ago.. It is working and sounding great.. just like a vintage minimoog!

In many ways its better than a vintage minimoog.. it has MIDI, it has LFO and Filter Aftertouch!!! And is very portable.. all with the Mini sound.

A couple of things to note. There are scuffs and scratches around the body, The first WAVEFORM knob is a little loose from its post.. NOT THE POT.. just the plastic knob over the metal pot post.. needs a new set screw. And.. while its perfectly scaled and in tune across many octaves.. you may have to scale and tune it after transit.. takes 5-10 min and super easy.. tuning / scaling pots are accessed via the back panel with a mini flat head screwdriver. Might not need tuning when you get it, just stating for full disclosure."

"Rare and useful Pitch to Voltage. Always liked this better than the GE 101, the envelope follower and trigger are particularly good. Pitch tracking is OK, depending on source, good for filter tracking. Odd for EMS this outputs at 1V/octave.

This unit has a nice history coming from EMSA. Nice Afromosa case, bulgin power cable. Vintage unit pushing 50 years old, being sold as-is, as seen."

Bad Gear is MASSIVE

video upload by AudioPilz

"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world's most hated audio tools.

There aren’t many software companies whose influence on electronic music is comparable to iconic hardware brands like Roland and Korg - Native Instruments is certainly one of them.

They defined the industry standard for sampling, established in-the-box modular synthesis and made using FM much too easy but today we are going to talk about Massive.

Putting this 2006 wavetable softsynth and primary ghost writer of the first three Skrillex EPs on the show is - quite literally - long overdue as, after the usual venture capitalist fustercluck and discontinuation of Absynth, it can only be a matter of months until this classic plugin stops working properly on contemporary computers.

Leap soul | Roland JD-990 mellow ambient progressions

video upload by MIDERA

"Yesterday I received a Roland JD-990 and was completely unimpressed with editing it (compared to the JD-800). I thought 'Why would I want this???' even though I knew it wouldn't be as good to edit. But... wow, I guess folks were right who championed the 990 over the 800. It IS better, in pretty much every conceivable way, except the interface, and the interface itself isn't really that bad once you know what you're doing. Now I will sit here and wonder, knowing how much better the 990 is... do I keep the 800? I could use it as an editor I guess, but that seems unnecessary for the most part. I guess I should try it first and see what I think.

FXM (crossmodulation?) adds some character.
'Structures' on how the tones interact is nice.
Tone panning
Better FX (I can go up to like 3 seconds for delays). Somewhat trivial.
Analog feel (cannot be overstated how much this adds to the sound).

I'm actually considering the 990 to be better than my D50, not too sure about that yet, but I like how the 990 can get much more grit than the 800, through the different tone structures, that it can start being more D50 like.

The biggest problem? The JD-800 ISN'T the JD-990. Roland could have made the ultimate digital synth if they made a keyboard JD-800 that had the 990 guts. I guess I can see why folks own both.

Of course - take all of this with a grain of salt. I did JUST get this synth yesterday and there's a honeymoon phase to every purchase. The only difference here is that I'm fairly familiar with the internal synth engine and I truly expected to be disappointed. But to everyone who bought a 990 and sold their JD-800, I get it.

No external FX used at all."
