opsix native Custom Patches [Bank 1] by synth_nyc
via SYNTH_NYC
"50 custom patches [Bank 1] for Korg opsix native synthesizer.
You can listen to them in high resolution (24bit 96kHz PCM WAV masters, FLAC encoded) on my site (optimized for Chrome on MacOS and Windows).
As usual, I’ve tried to highlight what I think is unique about opsix; like the multi-wave, Ring Modulation, Wave Folding but also the FX / WaveShaper Korg’s '01/W' synthesis. 95% of the patches use 6-Op.
Recorded on UA Apollo X hardware with mainly UAD-2 FX."

These are sounds I made while on my journey of discovery, experimenting with the various functions. I always find it easier to demo a synth using tones I'd use in tracks... which normally means creating my own. So that goes hand in hand with understanding how it works for my demos.

Mini press release, followed by user videos:

"Arturia just released the latest version of its flagship all-in-one software synth for modern producers.
When Arturia set out to create Pigments, the goal was ambitious yet simple: to design a synthesizer that would inspire creativity and redefine the boundaries of modern sound design. It was born out of a need to merge traditional synthesis paradigms with the latest innovation, and has evolved into one of the most versatile and intuitive software synthesizers available.
With each iteration, Pigments has grown alongside its community, empowering sound designers, producers, and composers to craft everything from intricate textures to explosive soundscapes. Today, as we unveil Pigments 6, this evolution reaches a new zenith, reaffirming Arturia’s mission to deliver a synthesizer as innovative as the artists who use it....
With Pigments 6, users can explore the new Modal Engine, new filters, a brand-new vocoder effect, enhanced granular functionality, fresh modulation possibilities, and a host of additional improvements – all designed to take multi-engine sound design to new heights.
Existing users can update Pigments for free and access an introductory offer on Explorations preset bundles. If you’re new to Pigments, you can make the most of an introductory price and discount on these expansions."

"Arturia Pigments 6 π₯ received a major update, introducing the Modal engine loved by Minifreak and Microfreak users. Now, there are more settings and expanded possibilities for physical modeling. It’s particularly great for creating mystical bells.
I also really enjoyed the new Lo-Fi Filter, especially when paired with Jitter.
Among other things: a vocoder, a new modulator, filters, an Envelope Follower, and various interface improvements. And, as usual, 100 new presets were added as a nice bonus, showcasing the new features of version 6. In this video, I'll walk you through my favorite sounds.

Stylophone CPM DS-2 - A Drone-Head's First Impressions
video upload by Oscillator Sink
"I don't tend to do review videos - there are others on YouTube who do it well and I don't usually feel like I have anything to add... but the Stylophone DS-2 is an analogue drone synth with built in effects, released by a company usually more well known for more conventional offerings and, I don't know if you've noticed this, but I really like making music with drones.
This video is a real-time documentary of discovery, it arrived earlier on the day I recorded the video and, other than 5 minutes in a noisy exhibition hall last year, I've not had an opportunity to explore this synth until today. Let's see what lurks inside..."

"Not in production. Not available anywhere.
Perfect for your Youtube video or synth channel.
Rare opportunity to own one of a kind synthesizer keyboard.
This is the Behringer Kobol Keyboard. There's a label in the back showing this to be an "Engineer Sample".
All controls and keys seem to be working. Although given this is not a production model, there could be quirks. The Pitch and Mod wheels light up when activated. The LED bar changes when knobs are turned.
I had tested only the audio outputs - headphones, main out, and amp out. Other connections and USB are untested.
Good overall physical condition, but there are very visible scratches and dings and dents on the panel, as shown in the photos.
The back stand has 3 positions for tilt adjustment."

AI Synthesis Announces the AI028 Voltage Controlled Matrix Mixer
video upload by AI Synthesis
Press release follows:
Portland, OR, USA January 28, 2025 – AI Synthesis has announced the AI028 Voltage Controlled Matrix Mixer
The AI028 uses the new SSI2190 PROCIRCUIT™ 6-INTO-1 VOLTAGE CONTROLLED MIXER* ICs to create a 6 in, 6 out Voltage Controlled Matrix Mixer. Each column of jack nodes is a VCA input that will amplify the input from the left to the output on the bottom from silent 0V to full unity volume at 5V. The inputs and VCA circuits will accept Audio and CV signals. For those who want to manually control voltage, a 5V output is present in the lower left that, with a passive attenuator, can be used to manually control the volume of a node. While currently in manufacture, due to the Lunar New Year, it is temporarily on hold and is expected to ship in February or March. Presales are now open on https://aisynthesis.com/product/ai028-voltage-controlled-matrix-mixer and will be shipped on a first come/first served basis.
“In the year 2000, I was in college and obsessed with modular synths, but could barely afford to eat. I knew it was possible to build your own synth, but there wasn’t anyone, or anywhere to turn to for advice. In the past decade, much more information has been published online, and in 2013 I started down my path to DIY modular. Even with all of the information online, there still lacked a single, simple, comprehensive guide for those looking to build their own synthesizer. I want AI Synthesis to be that guide. Prior to building my own synth, I was a dreamer, after building my modular, I felt I had awoken. I want to help others do the same.”
-Abraham Ingle
Founder, AI Synthesis
In addition to providing step by step build instructions, schematics, and circuit explanations, the site also includes a guide for getting started in modular synthesis, and a series of DIY Guides, with information regarding how Resistors actually work, and how to integrate a $26 scope into your Eurorack system."

Novation Summit - "A Sacred Dwelling" [Patch creation by Howard Smith]
video upload by eM
"When I heard of Mr. Howard's patches, I knew I couldn't delay, I needed to have them. Here you are listening to two of his single patches combined into multi setting: SY FIVE and ARP MEMORY.
I've come to accept that my journey into creating my own patches for the Summit may be far fetched. I am honored and privileged that there are those who understand this beautiful machine, well enough that I can enjoy and get lost playing them. It truly is an instrument that will stand the test of time, one to play and one to learn

Intellijel Patch Ideas: Ring Mod Delay
video upload by Intellijel
"Here we have a Ring Mod Delay patch with Atlantix, Sealegs, Ring Mod 1U and Aux Mix 1U. With this combination, the feedback from the delay evolves through the ring modulator, causing the echoes to morph with each repeat. It can produce some wild results.
Patch notes:
• Dry Signal - Atlantix Out / Aux Mix CH1 / Main Out
• Delay Signal - Aux Mix Aux Out / Ring Mod X / Sealegs Delay (100% wet mix)/ Aux Mix CH2
• Use Aux Mix CH2 Aux Out to create the feedback loop
• Atlantix VCO B Sine out from MOD Y to Ring Mod Y
• VCO B's pitch can be static, track with VCO A or modulated (for example with Sample & Hold). This will effect the way the timbre of the delay."

Additional Three Wave Music Listings
"The Korg DVP-1 was released in the early 1980's. It consisted of a Vocoder with its own internal waveforms, a five part Harmonizer, a Pitch-shifter and an Internal Synth. The Vocoder is very intelligible. While the Harmonizer does not sound super realistic, it has its own unique effect. It has five polyphonic voices, four with chorus on, unison mode and 64 memory patches to store your settings."
Yamaha VL1 Version 2 Virtual Acoustic Synthesizer with External Sound Library SN JYO1027
Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this listing
"Step into a new dimension of expressive sound with the Yamaha VL1 Version 2 Virtual Acoustic Synthesizer.
Designed to authentically recreate the nuanced tones and playing characteristics of real instruments without relying on samples, the VL1 V2 is a marvel of Yamaha’s pioneering Virtual Acoustic (VA) synthesis technology. This advanced engine uses mathematical models to replicate the physics of sound production, delivering stunningly realistic, dynamic, and expressive performances.
What Sets the VL1 V2 Apart?
Unlike traditional Sample & Synthesis (S&S) methods, which merely replay recordings of instruments, the VL1 V2 generates sound using detailed physical models of real instruments. This groundbreaking approach means the synthesizer doesn’t just recreate static tones—it captures the fluid transitions, tonal shifts, and expressive nuances that bring instruments to life. Whether it's the breathy vibrato of a flute, the bowing dynamics of a violin, or the growl of a saxophone, the VL1 V2 provides an unmatched level of realism.
Key enhancements in the Version 2 include refined synthesis algorithms and expanded sonic capabilities, making this unit even more versatile and expressive than the original.
Tailored Control for True Expressiveness
Every control on the VL1 V2 is designed to mimic the performance characteristics of live instruments. For example:
Modulation Wheel: Adjusts virtual embouchure for wind instruments or bow pressure for strings, letting you shape every note with precision.
Breath Controller (optional): Offers unparalleled realism for wind and brass sounds.
This deep level of interaction allows musicians to truly “play” the instrument, bridging the gap between synthesizer and performance art.
Expanded Sound Library
This VL1 V2 comes loaded with an extensive external sound library, including rare and highly sought-after expansion discs:
VLD-01
VLD-02
VLD-03
VLD-04
VLD-06
VLD-07
These expansions provide a treasure trove of additional instrument models and sonic possibilities, making this VL1 V2 a complete and versatile solution for musicians and producers."
