Testing the “final” arrangement of this little Eurorack Modular ;-)

video upload by John L Rice

"Vermona meloDICER being clocked and 'diced' (randomized) by an Erica Synths TRIGG while I play with the melody range. The voice is a Happy Nerding HM VCO pulse wave out into an Erica Synths MODulator module (EG and VCA). The VCO’s pulse width is being modulated by a 2hp Seq sequencer module that is also stepped by the TRIGG module. All in a 4ms Company Pod48x case and reverb from the external Yamaha MG 10 XU mixer.

EMS Logik Demo

video upload by Jörg Schaaf

"I recently had an EMS Logik Synthesizer at my synth repair workshop. I could not resist recording some bleeps with it before it get's picked up again by the owner. I must say, I really love that synth. The form factor, the deep sonic landscapes it paints and last but not least the light weight of the case!"

WITH ORIGINAL DOCS- YOU'RE GONNA NEED THOSE

iNSTALLED IN CUSTOM DIY CASE , midi IN, OUT AND THRU

A genuine piece of underground electronic music history: the DJMC by Analogue Solutions, one of the UK's most respected true-analog synth builders. Long before "expressive control" was a marketing buzzword, Analogue Solutions built this twin-joystick MIDI controller with crossfader for performers who wanted real, tactile, two-axis-at-once control over their sound — no touchpads, no menus, just raw hands-on movement.

This thing was never mass produced. Analogue Solutions has since shifted entirely toward their acclaimed eurorack and analog synth lineup (Colossus, Leipzig, Telemark, Nyborg, and more), and the DJMC has completely vanished from their current catalog — it doesn't show up anywhere on their site today. they almost never surface secondhand. If you've been hunting for one of these, you already know how rare a find this is.

Perfect for:

Collectors of obscure UK analog gear
Live performers wanting expressive dual-axis control (filter/resonance, X/Y FX, pitch/mod)
Modular heads running MIDI-to-CV for joystick-driven patching
VJs/lighting rigs that read standard MIDI CC
A genuine, hard-to-find piece from a small builder with a serious cult following in the analog synth world — grab it while it's here, because another one might not turn up for a long time

PlantsSystem-KOSMOS3 InteractiveReverb

video upload by plantssystem

"KOSMOS3 is an interactive reverb instrument that transforms reverberation from a static audio effect into a playable, responsive acoustic space. Instead of applying a fixed ambience, KOSMOS3 continuously reshapes its internal reverb field based on incoming audio, gestural control, and real‑time modulation signals.

At its core is a multi‑parameter reverb engine capable of smooth, expressive morphing across decay, diffusion, pre‑delay, and spectral balance. These parameters respond immediately to performance input, allowing the reverb to behave like a dynamic environment rather than a background effect.

Key features include:

Interactive control via MIDI, OSC, TouchOSC, and HID
Real‑time modulation for shaping spatial texture during performance
Headless operation suitable for installations and long‑running setups
Instrument‑like behavior where the reverb becomes an active part of the performance

KOSMOS3 functions not merely as an effect processor but as a playable acoustic space—a reverb you can push, bend, and sculpt in real time."

Tempera Quirks and Foibles by Benge

video upload by Memetune Studio

"I’ve been exploring granular synthesis since around 1997, when Native Instruments brought out Reaktor, because it was the first system I knew of that had a granular synthesis engine built into it

But even before that I was experimenting with certain samplers that could do a sort of proto-granular thing where you could control the loop start and end end points of a sample independently, and use sliders to scroll through the sample by hand (for example on the Fairlight CMI 2X and also the Akai S612)

But nowadays we have it so easy, as there are a whole slew of desktop granular devices coming out, often based on ARM chips, such as the Tasty Chips GR units, the recent Waldorf synths, the Torso S4, Endorphines Evil Pet, not to mention the Mutable Instruments Clouds and its many derivatives

And then there's this little monster, The Beetlecrab Tempera - a strange and tiny box which takes granular synthesis and does something completely unique with it

It’s got 8 stereo granular samplers at its heart, but the way you interact with them is using the 8x8 touch-points. They are called emitters, and you play them either over midi or using some of the touch-points. You can change and trigger emitters in x - y directions, and it's all extremely complex, and things can get really wild very quickly, so as this is my first patch on it, I decided to keep it simple by using just 2 of the 8 grain samplers

I captured the samples myself using the built in mic (sample 1 is just tapping the box with my fingers, and sample 2 is me humming

It also has comprehensive mixing and FX processors, so here is a little ambient sketch done in real time, using just the Tempera

I’m going to have fun exploring this thing - especially when I integrate it into some of my modular systems, once I have got my head round its many quirks and foibles"

You Can Program This Reverb Like a Synth: A Deep Dive into Liminal Space 2, Haunted Digital Reverb

video upload by Keith Crosley

"Liminal Space 2, the haunted digital reverb synthesizer, is here! I'm taking a deep dive into my latest retro-reverb innovations. Liminal Space 2 is a reverb plugin with deep programmability, wavetable LFO modulators (What!?), and extreme possibilities. AND... There's a FREE version! Woot! Grab your longest delay line, download Liminal Space 2, and get ready for a SHIMMER-A-GO-GO episode of your favorite talky synthesizer content show!

Liminal Space 2 is a Windows CLAP/VST3 plugin (Mac to come) built on a Householder matrix feedback delay network derived from Airwindows' kCosmos, with 2,000+ selectable algorithms from tiny ambiences to infinite tails. Nearly every component has its own dedicated wavetable LFO — so you can program a reverb the way you'd program a synth.

What you'll learn:
How a Householder matrix feedback delay network actually works
Why wavetable LFOs make a reverb programmable like a synthesizer
What the new Diffusion Matrix does — and why modulatable diffusion matters
How True Shimmer differs from pitch-shift shimmer
Recreating Lexicon 224 "mode enhancement" delay modulation from scratch
Using Derez, Random Frame, and stepped LFOs for haunted digital textures

ako - Basic Microwaving (4 track tape version) - recording w MT-50, MMT-8, CZ-1000, PSS-480, TR505

video upload by ako

"Here's a video of the recording of the B-side for my new single (links to all formats below). It was recorded on a Yamaha MT-50 four track tape recorder with a Casio CZ-1000 (bass, this is honestly the weirdest synth I own and I think this the only track I’ve released with it on bc it’s just so weird), Yamaha PSS-480 (lead, despite masquerading as toy this thing packs some serious heat) Yamaha DX21 (chord layer) and Roland TR505 (drums – this gets some stick from TR purists, but it has some really usable sounds and the sequencer is super nice). The track was sequenced with the frankly legendary Alesis MMT-8 (the only hardware MIDI sequencer I’ve ever enjoyed using). Synchronisation between tape and MIDI was achieved using a Yamaha YMC10 MIDI clock to tape-synch converter. Dub style delays used on the lead came from a RocLab DD3000 (pretty obscure unit, sounds nice if you tweak it just right); Reverb came from a Behringer DR600 (solid reverb pedal, even more solid price at ~£25) and chorus for the bass via a Boss CH-1 Super Chorus - my favourite chorus, to me it just sounds how chorus should sound (this one is a vintage ‘made in Japan’ model, so fully analogue compared to later digital CH-1 models, and just sounds super warm). It was mixed on MT-50 but also with a Peavey Unity Series 2000-16 (for submixes and sends etc.), this mixer has a flavour all of it’s own, certainly not high fidelity, but kinda gritty and warm… The track is out now for stream and download (links below), hope you folks dig the track 🙂"

Game Boy Advance FMS + Resonant Marbles Electronica | Dimming 2026-07-29 by atnr

video upload by atnr

"An electronica piece featuring Game Boy Advance, OP-1 field, and the resonant sounds of marbles processed through a resonator.

On the Game Boy Advance, sequences are played using FMS. The output is processed through LOSSY and then routed through the SSL SiX CH.

On the ‪@teenageengineering‬ OP-1 field, an electric piano sound from the Sampler is looped using the ENDLESS sequencer. Deep reverb is applied through the blueSky.

A piezo element is attached to a glass bottle containing marbles and metal nuts. The signal is sent into the ‪@MengQiMusic‬ Wingie 2, then processed through the ‪@ChaseBlissAudio‬ MOOD MKII and layered with micro loop textures."

Flexur spooky jam

video upload by Sound Workshop

"Testing Flexur, our standalone expressive #synthesizer inspired by #trautonium

In this firmware revision. Lauri iterated on the code that holds notes on while you’re sustaining a touch.

The last firmware revision improved noise performance, but led to a large increase in dropped notes. Is it possible to improved the noise without dropping to many notes?

Based on this jam, it seems like the answer is yes. Flexur felt very physical. Dare I say: I felt like I was starting to shred on it. I was playing most of my bag of ideas from jamming on “my funny valentine”. The chromatic descending bass line is very comfortable for an intermediate player like me, so I keep getting pulled back to it. I hope that more advanced players will be able to find more variety in chord changes.

I like how this video shows a few different ideas about how to arpeggiate and play chords. I also play this slightly corny riff that just wiggles between 5 and b5. It shows how with a little bit of pizzaz or personality the simplest motifs can stay interesting for a long time. That’s only possible on an expressive interface.

Flexur was crowdfunded in June 2026 and sold out. Please join the newsletter or waitlist on our website to know when orders open again, which should be in 6-24 months. Sorry for the long wait, We're pushing as fast as we can. Thank you!"
