MacroMachines - Karplus Web

MacroMachines - Karplus Web from Richard Devine on Vimeo.

"Late night patch experiment using the new MacroMachines Memory manager expander for the Mungo d0 module. Noise snare source made with the noise engineering ataraxic translatron module that was running into the top section of a Optomix. The setting was set to a closed decay time and I set the dampen control clockwise to cut out the low end frequencies. From there I set the memory manager in sequence to clock at half the time of the main sequence tempo. I purposely set nothing to control the delay modulation inputs on the d0 for inputs A and B, so that we only hear the delay line open and just changing the slew rate times and feedback intensity caused some interesting feedback swells. The output signal was then ran into another Optomix bottom row then set it to a medium decay time so could ring out in more of controlled manner.

Other modules used was the ALM Pamela's workout doing the tricky high hat pattern and kick drum via Tiptop BD 808. Scattered melodic notes dashed in reverb from the Mutable Instruments Braids running in WXT4 mode, and then being ran through an optomix for extra closed fast envelope control. The intellijel µScale was used for the subtly modulated plucks in conjunction with the Dixie and another Optomix. Trigger output from Pamela's workout to a 8th division sequence with 9% random value. This was sent into the Uscale A trigger input. Then I took the VCO output on the Wogglebug which caused this super fast zigzag effect on "shift" input B . I took the output to a intellijel Dixie which was set to the FM input, for a marble scrambling type of sound. All outputs ran into one Intelljel Mutagen mixer running in my new Enclave 12U case. Reverb from the Eventide Space pedal.

"Vactrol Drift" patch - SSF -Positronic Transient Gate /Propagate

"Vactrol Drift" patch - SSF -Positronic Transient Gate /Propagate from Richard Devine on Vimeo.

"First recorded patch using the new setup, and first patch experiment using the SSF Steady State Propagate and Positronic Transient Gate modules. The patch also includes some modules from my Enclave 12U case which is sitting on the floor as my camera lens isn't wide enough to capture everything. Everything clocked from one MakeNoise Wogglebug using the clocked/chaotic burst outputs. Tempo set very low for mid tempo pace of the rhythms. The clocked out is running into the seed input via the Animatter Brain seed, running trigger out to the Mungo g0 Depth Modulation input. The width and frequency modulation inputs controlled by the stepped output on the Wogglebug. Reset input on the g0 is being set by the Wogglebug clocked output. The waveform sequence is some percussion samples created on the Nord G2 modular synthesizer. Mult gate out to one Makenoise optomix, white noise hi-hats from the blue lantern noise generator "whitenoise" output. Kick drum trigger from the Cwejman BLD multi connection point via the Makenoise Brains clock master from the Wogglebug. Additional clock sent to the TipTop trigger riot. Then programming one channel output with high random probability to one input on the Propagate. Second input down from a mult connection point via the MakeNoise Wogglebug gate out. Creating counter back and forth pulses to Tiptop Z8000 sequencer. Summed output taken from the Propagate running into the PTG in low pass gate percussive setting. PTG running plucking one self resonating pitch of the Intellijel Korgasmatron (sine drop sfx). Wavetable morphing via the Synthesis Technology morphing terrarium, running into the Harvestman Double Andore, triggered by the gate burst input from the Woggle bug. Random white noises scatters courtesy of the Modcan CV recorder. CV controlled by the stepped and Smooth CV output on the Wogglebug. Output taken through the MakeNoise Phonogene for added glitches to signal. The mixed sum of all voices into a intellijel mutagen mixer. Outputs A going through Eventide Space, on patch setting 22 "Corridors". Output section C running into the Red Panda Particle Pedal, adding in more granular glitches and processing done by hand in real-time. Going into pure Red Panda granular processing at the end."

Mungo d0 dual channel delay - CV Glitch feedback patch

Mungo d0 dual channel delay - CV Glitch feedback patch from Richard Devine on Vimeo.

"Zigzag karplus strong feedback percussion patch made with the Mungo d0 dual channel delay. Clocking sources MakeNoise wogglebug, using clocked and noise bursts outs. Muti clock to the 4ms SCM input, shifted and rotated. Noise sources are one single sine wave running into one channel on the Optomix, strike input via the S5 output on the 4ms SCM. This plucked sine wave is then being processed through the Mungo d0 delay. Gate burst out into the clocked input on the d0, creating broken glitchy iterations in the feedback path.

New Enclave Flight Eurorack Cases

"The Enclave Flight Cases have landed……………….

Since Media Décor introduced its line of Enclave studio cases at NAMM, musicians realized the quality of our design and execution and have requested us to build portable cases. Our design team put their heads together and designed the Enclave Flight Series carrying cases from the ground up.

The case construction is unique: Instead of the typical screws and brackets and butted corners of conventional cases, we used solid machined dovetail construction for a seamless contoured monolithic design. Typically the industry standard has been to cover the cases with Tolex or fabric. The problem with this is that it can tear or stretch. Our solution was to completely encase the case inside and out with a military grade ballistic coating.

To maintain structural integrity, all hardware is thru bolted with locking washers. The radius corners are further protected with chevron corners. Attention to detail is vital: there are even built in strap eyes on the 6U for a padded over the shoulder carrying strap.

We decided to use Vector T-rails for the module attachment. The rails themselves have no slot for adding the nuts. They are simply removed by the user for adding or removing the attachment nuts.

Power is always of great concern to the user. Our solution is to offer the units unpowered or powered by the appropriate Makenoise Power System because of it high quality specifications and industry acceptance.

Photographs do not do justice to the Enclave Flight Cases. They are to be touched and used to appreciate the new level of aesthetics, function, and durability we have brought to the synthesizer case industry.
