Gradywerks MPG64-A and MPG64-R
"The MPG64-A (Midi Pattern Generator 64 Alpha) is a 64 step midi sequencer designed to run on Windows Vista or XP with a minimum screen resolution of 1024x768. In addition to playing midi notes, the MPG64-A is capable of simultaneously recording the resulting audio, creating loopable WAV files that can be used in any audio application. An 'Auto Set' feature can be used to automatically calculate and correct for latency of the midi device prior to recording, resulting in loopable samples.
The 64 step pattern data can also be exported to a midi file. The MPG64-A features a row of parameter knobs which can control the duration and velocity of each note, and can also be used to set values for two continuous controllers. A 'Controller Automation' feature uses preset patterns to modulate the continuous controllers to create filter sweeps and random 'sample and hold' type effects. The MPG64-A is also designed to run as a plug-in for Tu2 by Bram Bos. When using the MPG64-A to trigger a software synthesizer running on the same computer, you may need to install a 'midi loopback' such as Maple (Windows Vista) or MIDIYOKE (Windows XP)."
" There are now two versions of the MPG64-R. A free version, and a 'Special Edition' version available after a $19 USD donation. The Special Edition version features new graphics and a second tempo knob for the last grid two rows. By setting the 2nd tempo to a different value, some very unique and complex drum loops can be created.
The MPG64-R is the sister program of the MPG64-A and is geared for creating drum patterns. Some features include the ability to play in midi sync with the MPG64-A and the ability to export the pattern data to a Midi file. The primary feature of this program is a very simple, 64-step drum grid which can be used in lieu of your existing drum machine's complex sequencer. It can be used to trigger any type of midi drum machine, either software or hardware. Each of the 20 rows can be set to a different midi channel, so you can even trigger multiple devices simultaneously from the same grid! Lainhart Films At L.A. Festival
"Films "One Year" and "drift" to be screened at L.A. International Festival of Cinema and TechnologyRichard Lainhart, award-winning composer, filmmaker, and author, is pleased to announce that two of his short films, "One Year" and "drift", have been accepted for screening at the International Festival of Cinema and Technology's Visions of Movement, Art and Sound, Saturday February 7th in Los Angeles.
'One Year' is a year-long timescape of a maple tree in Lainhart's backyard, photographed daily with a digital still camera under computer control and assembled and processed in Adobe After Effects. The soundtrack is computer-processed bowed vibraphone, played and recorded live. 'drift' is an abstact HD film created entirely in Adobe After Effects. The soundtrack is an improvisation for lapsteel guitar processed with the Symbolic Sound Kyma System.
The International Fest of Cinema and Technology (IFCT) takes place at the Downtown Independent Theatre at 251 S. Main Street in downtown Los Angeles. This festival will be screening films from filmmakers around the world. The IFCT, (www.ifct.org) now in its 6th year, specializes in screening new animation and experimental film. The festival line-up also includes an array of exceptional narrative and documentary features and shorts.
The IFCT is designed to give exposure to independent films, many of which previously had been underexposed to the public. The festival's motto is it seeks to "discover the undiscovered film." The "technology" in the festival's name occurs both in the content of the festival, which tends to focus on themes of technology or feature unique creation techniques, as well as in the method of showcasing content at the events.
Richard Lainhart's "drift" and "One Year" will receive their L.A. premieres at the Festival's Visions of Movement, Art and Sound, Saturday February 7th. This showcase features cutting edge films with an intense focus on music and equally dynamic visuals. Along with Lainhart, presentations include 10 new and innovative music videos including Katy Davis' "Stay in My Memory" video for Bimm, SHTIL Music Video for Infectzia, and Hillside Music Video directed by Nir Ben Jacob for the band Sidewalk Fiction, among others. Other films in this screening sequence focusing on strong sounds and mesmerizing visuals include "Himalyanwalk" directed by Jeanet Snijders, "Motion" directed by John Osborne.

Next add a RV-7 Digital Reverb and choose the large hall setting set the dry/wet to 12
Create a Mclass Compressor and set the threshold all the way to the left, the ratio all the way to the right, the attack all the way to the left, and the release all the way to the right.

Create the "Yeah Yeah" Bodyrox synth in Reason 4.0! (Tutorial)

First create a Thor synthesizer
Set the polyphony to 4
And the release polyphony to 1
Now select mono retrig under keyboard modes
Select on for the portamento
Now click show programmer so we can actually get this synth rolling
In the first oscillator leave it as an analog and move the octave to 3
Now turn the little knob below tune and make sure its a t OSC 1 PW 64
On Oscillator 2 add another Analog Oscillator, the octave should be set at 4 and the semi should be set at 4
Set the tune knob to 11
Once again turn the knob under tune and set it to OSC 2 PW 64
Now add a third Analog oscillator.
The octave will be 2
This time switch the type of synth from the downhill line to the squiggly one
And turn the knob under tune to OSC 3 PW 64
On your low pass Ladder Filter make sure 123 are selected
Now lets move over to the filter envelope
Set a to 1.9 d to 349 s to -48.2 and R to 705
On the amp envelope set a to 1.2 d to 349 s to 0 and r to 1.09
Now we are going to make the sound change for your modulation wheel, for source go to performance and click mod wheel, set the amount to 64, and for destination go to filter 1 filter frequency
Now add a BV512 Vocader switch the fft knob to 4 band and switch the knob from vocader to equalizer
Switch the decay to 127
Move the shift to -30
move the hf emph to o and the dry wet to 127
Now create a RV7000 Advanced Reverb and select all warm plate
Now enable the eq
Set the decay to 0 the HF damp to 25 the hi eq to -4 and the dry wet to 18
Now create an mclass equalizer and selct the 30 hz lo cut button
On the lo shelf set the frequency to 106.2 and the gain to 1.7
Now select the button on param 1 and set the frequency to 114.9
The gain to 4.6 and the q to 4.9
Next create a mclass maximizer and set the input gain to 6
Select the 4ms look ahead button
Set the second fast button to auto
And switch the peak button to vu"

"rare vintage Elgam Model 3049 Keyboard Made in Italy.
Layout includes "Flute,Clarinet,Oboe,Reed,Spinet and Cathedral" settings..you may use them individually or all together. The 'cathedral' setting goes default through the reverb and is added to all other settings, you may use it also stand alone with no other settings on.
Effects are "Vibrato,Staccato(like a backwards vibrato kinda),Repeat and Reverb". They are all controlled with a speed pot and then reverb is controlled by a pot as well into the final mix. The unit has a reverb cage inside. There's an input for instrument use and it works well as the unit has an actual amplifier along with two oval speakers for onboard use inside. Also has main output.
The bass's grey keys are affected by the settings and effects but also have there own "Manual Bass" section with bass level pot and two on/off switches for "soft" and "sharp"(this later section does not affect the white/black notes section."

As for control, it has 2 filter controls for Cutoff Frequency and Resonance, 2 knobs for Oscillator - Fine and Frequency, and 3 knobs for Sequence Control - Tempo/ Release/Bar (2/4/8/12/16). There is a knob for Sustain and one for Volume. 2 envelopes - Saw and Square and the option for 6/8."

"Just had a Kenton Kit installed on my Prophet. So happy with it now. Unison is very, very thick. Does anyone know about patches acting weird on it? Some old patches on it seem to not allow proper tweaking, but if I go to the default panel then overwrite the patch all is good, and I never have issue on that bank or patch. Was hoping someone could shed some light..
Oh, and here is a test I did if anyone wants to hear..

Using a Jomox 888, and a Geiger Counter for Bit distortion on the snare. If anyone gets a chance to pick that pedal up, you can grab it from AH. Very very cool pedal and it adds a nice tone to the Snare that is pretty week on the 888. I hope Jomox releases a new drum machine with a new snare. I think the Jomox would be the best drum machine hands down if it had more of a punch with the snare."

Patch is roughly:
Pseudo-Random Pulses made with 2 LFO's feeding into an A149-1 Source of Uncertainty.
Output (via mixer- see later) of which is filtered by an A128 fixed filterbank which is amplified afterwards by an A119 pre amp.
Output of that is fed back via an A130 mixer into the A128.
Feedback point is crucial for the sound! Actually this feedback functions as the resonance factor of the A128.
Other speciality of this patch is that I actually use the A149-1 as an audio source..."
