Techno Liveset Demo with Elektron & Eurorack machines

"This is a demo video for my new liveset. All sounds coming from the Elektron Analog Rytm and the little Eurorack System. Ableton was used as a mixer and for looping the Modular and Analog Rytm during transitions between the tracks. FX by UAD Apollo (not visible here, sitting in a rack next to my desk.

Clock signal coming from the Analog Rytm to Intellijel Metropolis, Reset signal was sent from Ableton (the blue clip I start after I change patterns on the Metropolis)."

"New channel #33 emulates 24 DCO oscillators, chained in simple way. The frequency of the first one is controlled by S1, then the "spread" is increased by S2 (frequency increment of each subsequent oscillator). S3 and S4 influence envelope and phase shift.

The first function is tap tempo: tap the push button to generate a clock, and adjust the tempo with the knob. The second function is two tempo-synced, low frequency oscillators, each with two waveforms. One LFO provides bipolar sine or triangle wave, the other ramp or sawtooth. Two toggles let you switch between waveforms and one-shot mode.

The two functions can be linked or used independently. By default the LFO is synced to the tap tempo, but an external trigger can be used instead. In one-shot mode it works like an envelope, and the trigger input starts one full period of the LFO.

Χρόνος is Greek for Time, transliterated to English as Chronos.

People sometimes asked what synthesizer I used in my original 2009 cover of this composition. I didn't say at the time, but I used 4 instances of the excellent Oddity VST. I always planned to re-record it if ever I got the real thing. Well, I didn't get an original Odyssey, but I've got the Korg version for a while, so I dialed in the same sound and multi-tracked it. The 2009 version had more reverb, and I think that helped it sound a little more choir-like, but I wanted this version to be a little more transparent.
Footage is of my original 'stills video' from my other channel, followed by some winter footage I found on my hard drive.
As usual, no technical or gear questions please, I'm just here for the music. If I don't mention it here, then I don't think it's relevant.

"This first of two movies on the WMD Digital VCA looks at how it can delay an input control voltage such as an envelope until the incoming audio has reached a zero crossing of its waveform. Changing amplitude while the waveform is at zero means there will be no spurious clicks from sudden attacks, while suddenly opening a VCA while a waveform is somewhere else in its cycle can result in an abrupt change and therefore a click.

"Sorry for phone mic recording. But, this sounds so vintage! Volca keys plays a simple chord progression seq (backing pattern). Volca is fed into Bugbrand Crossover filter then PTDelay. Filter 1 of COFilter is self-oscillated (sine wave generated) and sequenced a melody by SQ1 (top melody). Played on the Roland mobile cube. Volca's filter is wide open and no delay added, roland is flat as well. PTDelay sounds so vintage at some setting, boosted by COFilter.. Even though mobile cube is a small amp, this is so vintage sounding. oh you only have to listen it over here..."
