Demo Note - The output of the LM-1 and the hardware DMX kits have been enhanced with EMT Reverb, EQ, and Tape Saturation. The GForce DMX is shipped with both clean and processed kits, many of these being used in the demo. Any perceptible sound differences between the hardware and software used in this demo are due to differences in sound levels and the presence of the EMT Reverb."

"The Oberheim DMX by GForce is an ode to the legendary drum machine of the past, seamlessly integrated with the speed and versatility of today’s digital realm. The DMX™ is a time machine that bridges decades of sound with the future of rhythm.

Authentic Sound, Unmatched Clarity – Experience the raw power of vintage drum sounds, meticulously crafted and enhanced for crystal-clear quality without losing their classic soul.
Intuitive Design, Infinite Creativity – With its sleek, user-friendly interface, the DMX invites novices and seasoned professionals to explore, experiment, and express without bounds.

The Oberheim DMX drum machine has left an indelible mark on the soundscape of popular music, crafting the rhythmic foundation of timeless tracks across a spectrum of genres.

From the driving beats of New Order‘s “Blue Monday” and Madonna‘s “Holiday” to the foundational rhythms of Run-D.M.C.‘s “It’s Like That,” the infectious Phil Collins’ “Sussudio”, the seminal Hip Hop/Electro jam Davy DMX’s “One For The Treble” or the uplifting grooves of Eurythmics’ 1983 album, its influence is unmistakable. Even Daft Punk‘s “Discovery” album owes a nod to the DMX.

We included all of the original DMX sounds from its launch in 1981, as well as the updated DMX sounds introduced around 1983. We’ve complemented the DMX sound set with the DX and the Sequential Drumtraks ones plus many alternatives.

The DMX by GForce Software is more than a drum machine; it’s a declaration that the beats of the past are the heartbeat of the future. It’s designed for those who revere the rhythm legends of yesteryears but are eager to push the boundaries of what’s rhythmically possible tomorrow.

Jumpstart your creativity with a comprehensive collection of classic MIDI files. These carefully selected rhythms offer a nod to the iconic beats that have shaped music history, ready for you to re-imagine and integrate into your modern productions.

Finally, we’ve incorporated kits that capture the raw, unprocessed sound of a DMX/DX, as well as kits that are professionally produced and ready for immediate use in your productions.

Step into a world where vintage vibes and modern moves converge. With the GForce‘s Oberheim DMX, unleash patterns that pulsate with the lifeblood of classics, refined by the precision of modern technology.

Classic Sound, Modern Control: Dive into the original eight-part sound kit of the Oberheim DMX, now augmented with comprehensive control over pan, solo, mute, pitch, decay, analogue-style delay send, and the lush, spacious reverb send for each channel.
Masterful Manipulation: On the master channel, a multi-mode filter, distortion, and compressor offer the ultimate tools for adding depth, warmth, and punch. Sculpt your overall sound with precision, adding that sought-after character only found in vintage gear.
Recreate some of the most iconic beats or twist them into something uniquely yours, all while benefiting from the timeless sound that has defined the rhythm for generations.

It’s time to let your beats tell a story as timeless as music itself."

Elka Wilgamat, Oberheim DX and Powertran Transcendent 2000 in sync

video upload by ohm_studi_ohm

"Since I just finished adding DIN SYNC24 to my Elka Wilgamat I decided to hook it to the Arturia Keystep pro and further added an Oberheim DX and a Powertran Transcendent 2000 to the game.
Playing with the Wilgamat accompaniment part brought a known melody to my memory so temptation was high to follow this path...

The Transcendent can be seen in another video i made earlier this month. It was modded to add a sub oscillator and also to correct the peculiar CV/Gate it originally used in order to use it in a standard CV/gate environnment. It's now working fine when controlled externally as you can hear.

If you want to add sync to the Wilgamat there are 2 issues you need to adress:
- the unit needs 4ppq so unless you have a device capable of providing such a clock frequency you need to convert the more conventional 24ppq to 4ppq.
It's actually very easy to do by using a single 4018 chipset, which can divide by 6 the incoming frequency
- second issue is that the clock on the WIlgamat ask for negative pulses so you need to convert the positive pulses to negative ones. I used a single op amp to do that (TL071)"

MiMa's cover of Airwolf Theme (extended mix)

video upload by mima85

"Here's my cover of the theme of the famous 80ies TV series Airwolf. I choose to cover the extended version, as I found it more interesting. No sequencing used, all played by hand (even bass and arpeggio parts) expect the rythm which I sequenced into my DAW. I also added a personal touch in the central part, where I put a melody (played on the Yamaha DX-7) that is absent in the original. Every time I listened to that section of the song I heard that melody in my head, so I decided to put it in my cover.

Like with the others of my last videos, this is not really a live show, I reconstructed the entire song from scratch part by part, then I filmed myself playing them, this time even from various angles. The audio is all from the rebuilt song, not from the filmed parts.

By the way, three of the four instruments I used this year turn 40, which are the Oberheim OB-8, the Roland Jupiter 6 and the Yamaha DX-7. All of them are from 1983, so this video can be meant as a way to celebrate them :-)"

Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill - Synth Cover

video upload by Luke Million

"One of the most popular songs from the Stranger Things Season 4 Soundtrack is Kate Bush - Running up That Hill (A deal with god)

I’ve always loved Kate’s use of the CS80 and Fairlight in her music. Running Up That Hill featured the Fairlight and Linn9000. But since I don’t have those, I’ve thrown together a jam using bits of my gear from the same era.

Sequential OB-6 Sound Pack - All FM sounds

video upload by Polydata

"Sound pack of 50 patches with sequences for the excellent Dave Smith Instruments / Sequential OB-6 analog synthesizer. All of these patches use VCO 2 as an audio rate modulation source via the X-Mod section. I decided to make an all FM pack for the OB-6 after doing a set for the prophet-6. It was definitely more challenging at first, but it led me to approaching sounds in some new ways, which produced some amazing results.

Sounds load into slots 400-449 as default. Everything heard here is totally dry, with no effects, EQ or compression. Just playing straight off the synth's front panel.

Drop a comment of what other sound packs you're interested in (more prophet-6, OB-6, prophet-12, Arturia V Collection, or others).

Note these patches use the latest firmware with the "Vintage Knob" functionality.

The CATO captures the distinctive analog sounds of the Octave Cat SRM and its SSM filter. The pure-analog tonality of this synth is huge, and its modulation capabilities allow for truly unique and stylized timbres. Able to create gigantic Moog-style basses, the CAT can also go in its own sonic direction with its clever oscillator sync implementation.

Future Retro Vectra Synthesizer Sound Demo Part 3

video upload by FutureRetroSynths

"All sounds you hear are from the Future Retro Vectra synthesizer. In this video we focus primarily on a few Bass, Guitar, and Sync type sounds.

The Vectra is capable of recreating some of the most recognizable sounds from some of the greatest synths of all time. Want to do wavetable synthesis like the Prophet VS and Microwave 1? How about some DX FM sounds? Or combine digital and analog waveforms like the D-50? And who remembers the SQ-80? But this goes farther than just digital synths, how about 303 stuff? Do you enjoy the rich fat tones of the Oberheim's with variable glide time per oscillators, and gorgeous filters? We do too! And British synth lovers, will enjoy the Synthi, Wasp, and Oscar inspirations. Want to dive into some modular weirdness, you got it! Or maybe you're just tired of the same old drum machines and ready for some new percussion. Whether you're a professional musician, sound designer for film, or hobbiest the Vectra offers something for everyone.

Some clips may include a touch of reverb/delay from the Eventide Eclipse."
