New Loopy Pro 2 Demos & Artist Spotlight

video uploads by Loopy Pro

Playlist:

1. Loopy Pro 2: Polyphonic Clip Playback with MIDI
Explore one of Loopy Pro 2’s most powerful new features: polyphonic clip playback. This tutorial shows how to trigger audio clips using MIDI — either pitched, where each note plays a different pitch of the clip, or sliced, where each note plays a different part of the audio. You’ll learn how to set up MIDI routing to clips, configure playback modes, and fine-tune behavior with features like fade-out-based note decay. We’ll also cover how to use loops as polyphonic targets, letting them sustain while held, and how to add an intro section to act as a sample’s attack before the loop takes over.
2. Loopy Pro 2.0: MIDI Loops & Signal Flow Explained
Learn how to harness the power of MIDI loops in Loopy Pro 2.0. This tutorial walks you through connecting a MIDI controller — whether it’s an external keyboard or the new on-screen keyboard — to a MIDI loop for recording and looping MIDI performances. You’ll also learn how to route that loop to an AUv3 instrument or any other MIDI destination to bring your loops to life. Plus, we’ll take a look at the redesigned mixer and demystify the new signal flow system so you can take full control of your setup.
3. Loopy Pro 2: Organize Your Mixer with Collapsible Sections & Rows
Loopy Pro 2 introduces powerful new ways to keep your mixer tidy. In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to collapse entire sections — like Inputs, Outputs, or Groups — to hide them until you need them. You’ll also see how to collapse individual rows to save space and reduce visual clutter, making it easier to focus on what matters in the moment.

Loopy Pro Artist Spotlight #1: Dub FX

video upload by Loopy Pro

"Welcome to the first episode of the Loopy Pro Artist Spotlight — a new series where I sit down with musicians who use Loopy Pro to talk gear, creative process, and the magic of building music live.

In this premiere episode, I’m catching up with none other than Dub FX — looping legend, street-performer-turned-festival-headliner, and longtime Loopy Pro user. He has been pushing the limits of live vocal looping for over a decade, and we dive deep into how he’s using Loopy Pro 2.0 to run his full live show.

🍩 Loopy Pro 2.0 is out today — July 11!
If you’re new here: Loopy Pro is the most powerful and flexible looper DAW around. Whether you’re on stage, in the studio, or building beats in your bedroom, it’s built for musicians who want total control.

🔍 In this episode, we cover:
• How Ben got into live looping and built his first busking rig
• The (very weird) story of how we met — and how he discovered Loopy Pro
• Why he replaced his RC-505 and Akai Force with just an iPad and Loopy Pro
• How he controls his vocal effects, pedals, and sequencer entirely from the APC40
• The plugins and processing chains he uses for live sound design
• Touring insights: his approach to backups, reliable USB hubs, and hardware quirks
• His approach to the full artist cycle — from writing and releasing, to content, clubs, and festivals
• His philosophy on collaboration — and how looping opens up space for others

🎛️ Dub FX Loopy Pro Rig – Hardware
• iPad Pro (USB-C model, running Loopy Pro)
• Akai APC40 MKII (USB MIDI controller)
• Line 6 Helix (multi-FX pedal & USB audio interface)

via muSonics

It's Independence Week and while I had intended for this to go out on the 4th itself, I put a bit more work into something special for you which delayed it a few days. I hope that's okay with you.

I wanted to give everyone a status update on how things were going over here and also offer a couple of specials to celebrate. Out of respect for the dozen or so people who have been patient and trusting of me I'm going to let you know how things are going and then share a few cool deals.

UNBOXING // IK Multimedia UNO SYNTH PRO X // Part 3 // TWEAKING Presests // No Talking

video upload by LESINDES

"UNBOXING // IK Multimedia UNO SYNTH PRO X // Part 2 // TWEAKING Presests // No Talking
Just arrived here. I could not dive deep into the synth. So I am scatchning only the surfice in this video and my short FIRST IMPRESSIONS of the new kid.
Very versatile little machine with paraphonic mode to play triads and program triads in the step sequencer. 2 independet filter. 1 OTA HP/LP, 1 SSM style, parallel or in series.
Now a few shortcomings:
DISTORSION is welcome but has to be that harsh?
Also: A programmable DISTORSION is a good feature but without a programmable overall level BEHIND the DISTORSION it makes the synth almost unsuitable for a live performance as for huge unsustainable loudness gaps between different patches.
DELAY and REVERB are only average and far away industry standard.
Flexible MODULATION ROUTING but it is quite a mess to readjust levels as there are for instance no dedicated attenuaters for LFO mod levels for the VCF. I understand that there is not much space on the panel 1. But LFO WAVE knob could get a 2nd shift function. Main job: LFO amount, shift-job: wave....
AND it does not feature a power switch. That's really bad when you hooked directly on your computer via USB-C. Every time when you'redone you must tear the plug or the UNO sucks your computer batterie empty.
This could be solved. By a hint of a user. Pressing the hold button for a second or two switches the unit off. So at least an OFF SWITCH!
The tune knob for the oscillators is multirange: The first 10 minutes plus and minus it increses and decreases in CT steps and in half tones. So you cannot detune the oscillators when shifted in the halftone range.
The pots controlling plus and minus CVs could better feature a DENTED CENTER POSITION. For the TUNE knob it is not a big problem as it first advances in cents but adjustment FILTER ENV amount is sometimes very delicate and a quick cancelling of the ENV is not possible without a dented center position.
Units with built in sequencer are often hooked up to computers and other machines as via MIDI or USB as slaves. And here this unit badly need a well functioning AUTO MODE so that it switches to slave automatically when an EXTERNAL CLOCK is detected at the input. Most other gear features this.
So these were my fist impressions."

JHS Colour Box v2 Lovely Saturation [FX w/ Synthesizers #19] Demo

video upload by gstormelectro

"Audio + Video by G-Storm Electro c. 2025

Today I am exploring various synth and percussion elements through the JHS Colour Box v2 for that lovely vintage console saturation. Or downright savage noise when pushed harder, if that's your bag. A/B comparison effect on/bypass except the last section, got lost in the moment on that one. Tried my best to mind the levels, but now and then the volume is a bit inconsistent. Some normalization applied to remedy some of that, you understand. The EQ applied some nice touches, really helps pick out some sweet spots here and there. Summer 😎 (Moog Minitaur + Boum // LXR 02 // Nymphes + S 1 + Timeline // Streichfett // Keystep Pro)

video upload by 2-Minute Warning

"Last 'long' video before a summer break (I'll be eventually uploading some 'Shorts' during July 😉)

It's been quite some time that I didn't make a "from scratch" video, so here we go again! (See all my "From scratch" videos) [embed below]

On the setup side on the sequencer (Keystep Pro), before recording:
I defined the tempo and number of bars of each track
I setup the scale (Dorian)
I setup the tracks I wanted to be transposed in real-time (tracks 2 = Minitaur and 3 = Streichfett).

The video starts with the recording on Track 2, of the BASS line (Moog - Minitaur), then on Track 3 the CHORDS/STRINGS (Waldorf - Streichfett), on Track 1 the DRUMS (Sonic Potions x Erica Synths - LXR-02), on Track 4 the ARP (Dreadbox - Nymphes + Strymon Timeline delay).
I recorded part of the DRUMS in real-time, and the KICK in step mode (hence being able to setup randomness on some steps and conditions too, i.e. the step plays on the fourth time it's triggered only...)"

2. 1974 MiniKorg 700s K2, vintage analog synth for sale in Portland, Oregon - Demo 2 MIDI Bach BWV 565
This is Demo 2 (2 of 2 videos) highlighting the sound and character of the 700s / K2 synthesizer in action, and showing the external control of DAW, via MIDI, into a MIDI-to-CV convertor, connected to the CV inputs on the back side of the 700s. The MIDI songs has multiple organ and harpsichord tracks. The MIDI output to the 700s is one of the main tracks for this piece, panned to the RIGHT side of the stereo field, to help discern the 700s sound. The point of this video is to show the capability of DAW control, given all the external hardware interfaces, which comes with the sale of the 700s as one package.

* Custom Flight Case
* USB to 2-channel MIDI convertor box + long USB cable

Demo video #2:

This 1974 MiniKorg K2 / 700s works and sounds great. It has the Kenton CV upgrade, a hardshell case, and I’m throwing in a Kenton Pro Solo Mk2 MIDI-to-CV converter, a USB to 2-ch MIDI convertor, long USB cable.

Everything works great and is ready for any modern studio DAW, or adaptation to your external MIDI capable hardware!

The Kenton CV upgrade “3 socket” kit has three 3.5mm ports (easily interfaces with modular synthesis architecture!) or a MIDI-to-CV convertor (which I am including for free with this sale). The 3 inputs are: CV (pitch in), GATE (note on/off), FILT (filter control).

The synth has been with me for about 14 years. I serviced vintage synth and pro-audio gear for the last 30+ years, and this was one that I restored, upgraded, used for recording, and cared for. Every key contact works great, all adjustments have been calibrated, it stays in tune, and every feature works."

Lux 🔆 (Erica Synths LXR-02 + Oto Boum Compressor // Ableton Move 1.5 // Arturia Keystep Pro)

video upload by 2-Minute Warning

"2 minutes, no warning! 🥳
In this video, I really wanted to make use of the 1.5 new features of the Ableton Move like sequencing the different tracks of the Move from another sequencer (Keystep Pro here) and its new Auto Filter effect 🤩 (I was really waiting for these 2 updates!).

So the track starts with DRUMS played and sequenced by the LXR-02, through the Oto Machines Boum stereo analog compressor.
I then introduce the Move by opening the new Auto Filter effect.
The Move is playing some secondary percussions (Track 1), the BASS (Track 2, sequenced by Track 2 of the Keystep Pro), the ARP (Track 3 of the Move, sequenced by Track 3 of the Keystep Pro) and the CHORDS (Track 4 of the Move, sequenced by Track 4 of the Keystep Pro).

So with this setup, I was able to transpose in real-time the instruments played by the Move 😃

Hardware used *

// DRUMS

Clatters Machines Introduces SONORA Spectral Mixing Output Module

Video Manual upload by Clatters Machines

Chapters:

0:00 Meet Sonora
0:09 What's Sonora?
1:15 Headphones on!
1:30 12 pre-panned inputs summing mixer
1:59 Dive into stereophony possibilities
4:18 Pro Line outputs
4:28 Headphones output and loudness indicators
4:35 LED meter and soft clipping limiter circuit
4:53 Why Sonora?
5:15 Ciao!

"Sonora is a 6HP, skiff friendly, spectral mixing output module designed to be the ultimate sound stage of your eurorack setup.
A place where all your mixes meet and find a stereophonic solution for your final track thanks to its twelve fixed panning inputs that allow you to give each track its own space and importance in the stereo field. While being a 12 inputs summing mixer, Sonora also features a LED meter, a soft clipping limiter circuit at the output stage, a headphone output section with loudness indicators and 3.5mm pro line output jacks.

Features:

12 pre-panned audio inputs:
2 hard left inputs;
2 hard right inputs;
2 mid left inputs;
2 mid right inputs;
1 low left input;
1 low right input;
2 mono inputs;
3.5mm stereo headphones socket (300mW headphone amp @200Ω impedance) with dedicated volume control and stereo LEDs loudness indicators;
3.5mm pro line outputs jacks (+4dBu);
master volume control;
stereo LEDs meter with 0dB reference indicator;
soft clipping limiter circuit;"

Update: press release follows:

"Clatters Machines announces availability of Sonora spectral mixing output module as ultimate sound stage for Eurorack setups

SAN BENEDETTO DEL TRONTO, ITALY: small town lovers of music and electronic instruments Clatters Machines is proud to announce availability of its Sonora spectral mixing output module — aimed at acting as the ultimate sound stage for Eurorack setups by being marketed as a place where all of a user’s mixes meet to find a stereophonic solution for the final track, thanks to 12 fixed panning inputs that allow each track to breathe in its own space while also determining its importance in the stereo field — as of May 23…

Translated to generally meaning sound (in English), sonora is actually an Italian feminine adjective that stands for loud, resonant, ringing, and sonic — depending on the context in which it is used; however, in the context of Sonora being aimed at acting as the ultimate sound stage for Eurorack setups as Clatters Machines’ latest module, who better, then, to introduce it than company Co-founder, engineer, designer Michelangelo Nasso. “A compact, final sound stage module was an obvious — and needed — choice for us,” he begins, before briefly detailing how it came into being: “As musicians, we’ve always struggled with headphone/output/mixing modules. Most modules in this field take up way too much space inside a case — space that we’d prefer to fill with other effects, sound sources, and utilities. And although some other output
modules are super-small, which is nice, they usually lack features, so we tried to solve this problem with what we think is the
perfect combination of what’s already out there.”

Think 12 pre-panned audio inputs — including two hard-left inputs, two hard-right inputs, two mid-left inputs, two mid-right inputs, one low-left input, one low-right input, and two mono inputs. “So Sonora has 12 pre-panned audio inputs, which is great if you’re composing with multiple sound sources,” says Michelangelo Nasso, continuing: “We came up with the idea of additionally assigning a fixed panning space to each input, so the possibility of creating a perfectly stereo balanced final track is pretty straightforward.”

Further features abound, as Michelangelo Nasso notes: “Once we created what is basically a spectral 12-input summing mixer, we decided to go all in and added all the features we think are a must for an end-of-chain module, such as a 3.5mm stereo HEADPHONES socket, with dedicated volume control and stereo LED loudness indicators; 3.5mm pro LINE outputs; stereo LED meter, with a 0dB reference indicator; and a soft clipping limiter circuit, which we believe is always handy, both to protect your gear and spice things up!”

And as if that is not an exciting enough prospect in itself, all those features fit neatly into a 6HP-wide module with an anodised brush aluminium front panel that is available in either black or silver, so standing out from the sound of the crowd with what is surely the ultimate sound stage for a Eurorack setup also applies to what a Sonora purchaser prefers that proposition to look like.

Sonora is available worldwide — with a choice of silver- or black-coloured aluminium front panels — from Clatters Machines’ growing global network of retailers (https://clattersmachines.com/retailers-3/) or directly via its online Store (https://clattersmachines.com/shop/) for €245.00 EUR (plus VAT). For more in-depth information, please visit the dedicated Sonora webpage here: https://clattersmachines.com/prodotto/sonora/"

Liminal Patch 010 : Dark Ambient Modular Exploration : 10 Minutes of Threshold Invocation

video upload by Botched Creative

"AETHERIS NEXUSis a 10-minute descent into modular tension, where structured performance collides with controlled unpredictability. A convergence of control and surrender. Droning analog oscillators stretch across a dark horizon. Sculpted noise writhes in the aether—each exhale a ghost of resonance. Randomized ostinatos emerge like faulty memories. Pulsing bass figures carve a path agnostic to meter—structured, but answerable only to their own internal logic.

Recorded live to multitrack, each voice was captured in real time—a fleeting convergence of structure and volatility. What emerged was part performance, part algorithmic drift: a mesh of voltages and reactive systems colliding in ways that can’t be precisely reentered.
An improvisation encoded in circuitry and instinct. Once aligned—now gone.

Liminal Patch 010 marks the end of Series One. Liminal Patches Series Two will return after a brief hiatus.

SPIELBERG movie score on KORG WAVESTATE MK2? | The "Active Orchestra" Preset Details Blow My Mind!

video upload by Microflat

"This video will demo the 3-octave Korg Wavestate MKII, a greatly sounding and overwhelmingly equipped super synthesizer with 37 full-size keys and a compact form-factor. I used the rhythmic 'Active Orchestra' sound preset that truly reflects the full symphonic polyphonic capabilities of the available 96 stereo voices.

Video clips were recorded in 4K (60 fps) on a Panasonic Lumix GH5 and were edited in Davinci Resolve Studio 19 running on a HP Zbook 17 G7. Audio was recorded in 96 KHz 32 bit directly into the Solid State Logic SSL 2+ USB-C audio interface via an Apple iPad Pro running Cubasis 3. All audio output has been processed in Davinci Resolve Studio 19 for optimal broadcasting."

Bootsy Collins’ Home Studio is a Funk Wonderland

video upload by Reverb

"Bootsy Collins has one of the most distinct bass sounds in all of recorded music and his home studio, the Boot Cave, is where Bootsy workshops his tones and records his records. Whether its the piles of effects pedals, Bernie Worrell's legendary synth setup, or the hordes of priceless memorabilia; Bootsy's Boot Cave is a treasure trove of unbelievably cool gear.
